Chapter 27 - Finally

The simmer of morning dew lands faintly on Moonlight's cheeks. His eyes opened to catch sight of the grey clouds in the sky. He rises up and stretches his body. "Hnn, the smell of a great day,"

Moonlight observed his body and whispered, "Calm, quiet and loneliness, the big three of—hah!"

"You're up. Good Morning Moonlight."

Sudden shock ran through his body as he found Phoenix staring at him, and Cloud lying peacefully on her laps. Cloud mumbled, "What's this comfy thing?"

"Good morning Cloud." Phoenix said, with her eyes smiling.

"G…good morning mother, how ya doing, hngh, that was a long night." Cloud replied and got up. He inhales the air and utters, "The start of another day. Now, will it be fast-paced as the previous? Or slow-paced as an ordinary day?"

"Asking questions before the start of something usually means bad luck, you know right." Phoenix said.

"The start of a great day always must begin with a meal. A breakfast, you may say. Come on, are y'all hungry?" Cloud asked.

Phoenix chuckled. "Dragon's flesh does not rot. It may very well remain until the end of eternity."

"Huh? Won't that cause some kind of waste problem or something?" Cloud asked.

"No, a dragon is stronger than you think. Now let's have our breakfast." Phoenix replied and got up, "Moonlight?"

"He's already gone, no use catching up to him now."

"Hah…"

Immediately, both quickly ran after him. They all met at the dining, ate their fill and separated to various locations. Cloud to who knows where, Phoenix to her room and Moonlight returned to the upper deck.

He stayed there, catching a glimpse of the soft air, clean ocean and a city on the horizon slowly coming into a view. With one look, Moonlight muttered, "Is where I'm going truly worth it?"

After one hour, the ship's speed slowed down in preparation of stopping. Thirty minutes more, a stream of tension ran through the ship, attacking everyone hearts. Ten minutes passed, over a hundred individuals came out with their various travelling bags.

Moonlight chuckled softly on spotting some group, kissing the ship goodbye and some crying, while some just kept a neutral face, a downed one and a lot, a happy and satisfied one.

He bends his face downward and spots Febia waving at him. He does not wave back but he knew this was the sign to come down. Moonlight sighed, taking a look at the grey clouds once more.

"I hope I don't get bored."

He reached the lower deck in a flash and moments later, he found himself vaulting over the ship without a sliver thought of his safety. However, he landed safely with no sign of internal crack in his bones.

"Wo; Calm down you're not old enough to do that."

Cloud then pulled him by the shoulder and threw him in their ride.

"We should wait for Febia. Besides, where's your travelling bag?" Cloud asked.

"…?"

!

"It's still in the back. I never removed it when we came down." Moonlight replied.

"Shouldn't you at least check if…"

"I'm here! Oh, Moonlight? You're already here. But weren't you up—never-mind, shift over for me. Let's get this over with." Febia said.

"~cough~cough~ Are you done now?" Cloud asked.

"Yea I'm done—Hey show some respect!" Febia replied.

"Looks like everyone is lively, let's get the show on the road. Rab! We're ready to go." Phoenix as she walked in.

"Ok! Yeehaw….!"

Rab gave a signal. Within seconds, the loud neigh of the horses could be heard and the thundering of their feet hitting the hard stony ground signified the start of their journey.

Moonlight glued his face to the glass window, surveying the port with the carriage still in motion. His eyes glimmered with anticipation while his mind kept note of the sights before him.

"Moonlight, if you observe early, you will miss the main sight," said Cloud.

Moonlight turned and replied, "I'd rather have too much salt ruin a dish than not having every meal on the table."

Cloud paused and chuckled. His hand finds his pocket and he brings out an old-colored book.

"What's that?" Moonlight asked.

Cloud grinned and replied, "The main dish."

Moonlight paused, clicked his tongue and swiftly diverted his eyes from Cloud. Moments later, he lazily sat back down, folding his hands, menacingly.

"Took long enough," Cloud whispered and laughed thereafter.

He then stops after being reprimanded by Febia to shut up. Immediately, Cloud fixated his eyes on the book right in front of him. He then begins to show shock, anticipation, in both his eyes and face.

The room fell quiet as motivation could not be felt. All felt they needed to lift the situation but none had the need to start up a conversation.

!

"Hey there sorry for the late introduction, I've got something to say."
