Chapter 28 - One Final Rule

"To begin with, my reason for coming here is not that all important, but on the long run it actually is,"

"What are you doing here, Old man?!"

"Oh, forgot you were here. Why do you hate me so much? Huh?"

"Putting it bluntly, your entire existence just seems unreasonable. You appear like a dream and leave without giving a suitable reason of why you are actually there."

"Hmm, that does seem like a meaningful description, but, that's only to you. Young minds ask questions, an answer without a question is meaningless. Therefore, I make it my goal to give an answer to a question not asked. And by doing that, I can successfully input multiple questions with just an—

"Old man, what are you doing here?" Cloud asked.

"Here I thought, your mother was the only one, heh, what did I actually do? Besides, how can you speak to me with your eyes focused elsewhere?"

"Cause I actually see no reason for you to be here." Cloud replied as he flipped a page he was done reading.

"Hah, this is one of the main reasons you're not an ordi…"

"Old man, don't you dare criticize my son? You can speak, time waits for no one."

"With the sole exception of Adna's,"

"Hah!"

"Fine, fine I will speak."

Cloud sighed, placed a bookmark and closed the book he was currently reading. "Speak,"

"Kum~kum, I'm just here to give one more simple rule. On no account are you to leave–no to be in the same vicinity as someone while wearing a-tight-fitted clothes."

"Knew it was useless, mtcheww…" Phoenix hissed.

"This may seem useless, but trust me when you grow older you will realize."

"You told me this also. I thought you already told them." Phoenix asked.

"If I did, their mind will be asking questions, rather than focusing on who their mother is. I did that and it gave birth to you, Phoenix."

Phoenix paused. "Leave,"

"Okay bye!"

With that, the man left by the door and the room fell into silence once more.

Until Febia asked, "If no one's talking, why was the lord of the Adna's household and how did he enter and leave a moving carriage?"

"Febia," Phoenix replied. "Anything an Adna does, do not think much of it or else you will spend your life doing totally nothing."

"…"

"From now on, just expect his presence to invade we are going currently. If you spot him by the couch, don't fret. Just listen and he will leave eventually. Take his words to heart; do not take them to mind. That is all…"

"Ok?"

Meanwhile,

"Haahaahaaha…"

"Kid, come back!"

"Mother…! Where are you?!"

"Kid! Stop,"

Running through rubbles of wooden slabs, on a cold and wet road; Clouds covered the sun, traces of rain filled the air yet, only the screams of a young boy rang loud.

"Where are you?! Mother! The house, is it here? Where is it?!"

The boy stopped. His head aimlessly changed directions, his eyes deeply in search of something.

"Boy! Haa…hu…ha…please stop."

Behind him, a man dashed forward, with one thought; stop the child.

Tears formed on his eyes as he fell to his knees. He faced sky and made one final call.

"MOTHER,"
