"It's time for mid terms results, so everyone better check their university account and btw no curve for my class as the average was 60%,tough luck for those who failed"
The professor said as others felt that it was unfair, others talking with friends while looking at their results, some crying ,some boosting their results, some thanking god about barely passing except for kaiser as after he looked at his results he just turned to the window and began thinking.
'60%,the exact percentage of the average...again average...'
Kaiser thought as he sighed, his life was the pinnacle of being average. Average height, looks, physique, talent and intelligence. No matter what he did it will just amount to the pinnacle of being average.
After class ended, others went with their friends to celebrate or had family members waiting for them except for him.as he just decided to have a slow walk home today to clear his mind. Taking his bike and walking alongside it as he just reached a Park near a riverside and sighed.
"I am really helpless, aren't I?"
Kaiser said to particularly no one. It's not that he can't make friends or talk to people ,it's the fact any friendship he makes is just superficial greetings and small talk and Kaiser hated that pity the most as he just wants genuine connections to other but can't help it because others just find him invisible or an acquaintance at best.
He then heard a parent and their kid talk.
"Dad, dad, a shooting star!!!quick ,make a wish!!!"
"It's quite rare to see one in the evening, but I don't need to make a wish when I have you with me buddy!!"
The father said as he grabbed his kid and lifted him high in the air as the kid began to laugh and said.
"Hehe, me too dad!!!"
Looking at the father and child interaction and then at the shooting star, Kaiser thought about something and he just sighed and said.
"I really wish to create something that is meaningful. Something to call my own..."
The next moment after those words sounded, a strange light phenomenon enveloped him and transported him far away as no one noticed him disappeared.
"Ughh,my head hurts and most importantly where the hell am I?"
Kaiser said as he looked around and found himself in a bamboo forest.
"Strange,a mortal is here?wasn't it supposed to be a small tear of space?well doesn't matter, dont worry about what happened mortal,I know you are confused but you are very far away from home so I need you to calm down for now"
An old man's voice sounded as Kaiser heard it,he looked around to locate the owner of the voice but to his surprise he found an old man flying on top of a sword.
'This...this must be the classic transmigration trope!!!I can't believe it's real'
Kaiser thought to himself as he looked at the old man, flying majestically on the sword tip.
"Ohh great immortal, please take this humble mortal as your disciple!!!"
Kaiser said as he bowed to him and thought with a smile.
'Right now I can't miss this opportunity at all!!!I am finally going to live life for real'
"You possess strange clothes and your character isn't half bad as you quickly adapted to the situation around you, however unfortunately I can't take you as my disciple as you don't have a spiritual root and can't cultivate, but don't worry about it since it was fate that brought as together I will give you some funds and even a local business in a village to live your life fully."
The old man said with a caring and kind smile.however this talk shocked Kaiser the most.
'Even here I am nothing...'
He thought to himself but he didn't give up yet.
'I can't accept it!!'
"Please bring me with you great immortal.I am not an ordinary mortal,I came from a place without spiritual energy but the achievements of the mortals there are heaven defying!!a device that let's you connect with the whole world, weapons of great calibres and many wonders !!"
"From your clothes and the way the space crack disappeared, I believe you, however can you invent those things you talk about?"
The old man looked at him with a solemnly look as Kaiser began sweating and couldn't believe how stupid he was.
"Sigh,I thought too.young man,the heaven path is truly dangerous and doesn't support those who aren't fortunate enough.take me as an example...a low grade spiritual root, reaching the ninth stage of golden core is already my peak and it's higher then those of my talent but unfortunately due to my low talent I can't produce enough qi to shatter my core and try to form my nascent soul and using external materials is truly expensive and could even make the breakthrough more harder.Honestly I am way more then happy that my sect supported me and even gave me a guest elder position in it but that's the end of my path of 500 years of cultivation it seems.so please accept this chance and don't try to chase a dream that can never be."
The old man said with a pity as when he looked at Kaiser he could see parts of his younger self.
'Bullshit, you fought and fought and survived 500 years and lived life to the fullest and you just want me to give up because I wasn't just born with these shitty spiritual roots??I need to think fast..."
Kaiser cursed in his head as ideas began to spin rapidly on how to make the old man take him then suddenly something snapped in his mind.
'This could work but its risky...fuck it,I don't have anything else to lose anyway'
"Great immortal, you don't need to worry,if you accept me as your disciple i can help you with your problems as we also have a lot of fairy tal-"
Before Kaiser could finish speaking, invisible energy threw him up in the air at the same level as the cultivator.
"Enough with this nonsense,if you stop talking right and accept my offer,i will forgive the insolence you tried to say however if you wish to keep talking and whatever you say is wrong, you will face sever punishment,i dont take cultivation lightly, how can you have a solution for something the great the sects couldn't even solve???"
The old man said with anger.
"Its really…simple, just instead of gathering the energy inside the core then shattering it,how about just compressing it in rings forms around the cores, until you have enough rings to just simply shatter fully, like a watermelon shattered by multiples of rubber bands"
Kaiser said while struggling to speak as he knows that this is all bullshit he thought about, it was just another way of cultivating, that those mages use and call mana circles in the novels that he used to read. he just tried a stupid gamble, and as the old man tried it, he was surprised as he gathered the energy and compressed to a small ring around his core as it shaved a little bit of it.
The old man was not the only one surprised as kaiser was also surprised by the transparent screen in front of him.
