Chapter 11 - Chapter 11:The Silence After The Strom

The night was unusually still. The chaotic joy of the wedding had finally subsided. The guests had long departed, and the overpowering scent of flowers that filled the room had now softened into a delicate, lingering fragrance.

Bharsha stood by the window. The moonlight spilled over her red silk saree, turning the crimson fabric into a shimmering silver. She was lost in the vastness of the night sky.

Arindam stood at the doorway, watching her in silence for a long time. This was the same girl who once sat quietly in the middle row of their classroom, head bowed over her notebook. Today, she was his wife. He approached her slowly, not calling out her name, but simply standing beside her to share the silence.

"What are you thinking about?" his voice was barely a whisper.

Bharsha let out a long, shaky breath. "I'm thinking about the road that brought us here... the school days, the distance, the storms, and the countless misunderstandings. It feels surreal to finally be standing here after everything."

Arindam smiled gently. "In our hearts, we became one a long time ago, Bharsha. Today, the world just finally caught up to the truth."

Bharsha looked up at him. In her eyes, there was something far deeper than shyness—there was an unwavering faith. She slowly reached for his hand, her grip no longer hesitant or timid. It was the touch of someone claiming what was rightfully hers.

"You'll never leave me alone, will you?" her voice trembled slightly.

Arindam took a step closer, resting his forehead against hers. "I was by your side when you were crying in the middle of the storm. Now that the peace has finally arrived, why would I ever walk away?"

The words faded into the quiet air. There was no need for more talk.

Slowly, the final remnants of distance between them vanished. A tender kiss followed—one that held no rush, only the profound sensation of finally belonging. Bharsha's hands found their place on Arindam's shoulders; she could clearly hear the steady, rhythmic thumping of his heart against her own.

This night wasn't just about two people coming together; it was about mending old fears and completing words that had been left hanging in the air for years. When two people truly love each other, their union isn't just a moment—it is a lifelong vow.

The lights dimmed slowly. Outside the window, the moon remained a silent witness. But inside, every inch of space between them was gone.

Much later, resting her head on Arindam's chest, Bharsha whispered, "That boy from the seat by the window... are you still watching me the same way?"

Arindam smiled, pulling her closer into the warmth of his embrace. "I'm not watching you from afar anymore, Bharsha. Today, I am your home."

Outside, a gentle breeze was blowing. The storms had finally passed. Now, there was only the vast, still sky.
