Chapter 15 - Chapter 15:I'm Here When The Strom Comes

Bharsha's baby bump is now prominently round. The doctor has confirmed that everything is progressing well, but she needs to be extra cautious this time. She isn't carrying just one life anymore; two tiny souls are growing within her.

In these months, Arindam has transformed into a completely different man.

The man who once stayed late at the office is now the first one through the door, often before the clock strikes five. His phone, which used to stay on silent, is now always on high alert—as if he's waiting to catch even the softest sigh from Bharsha. He is ready to drop everything and run to her the moment she calls.

One evening, Bharsha was resting on the sofa, feeling a dull ache in her back. Arindam approached her with a worried look. "Does it hurt? Is it getting worse?"

Bharsha gave him a playful smile. "Why are you always so terrified?"

He replied with a sudden seriousness in his eyes, "Because you are my everything. And I can't bear the thought of my world being in pain."

He sat on the carpet near her feet and began to massage them gently, his touch filled with care and tenderness.

Bharsha whispered, "Remember Arindam, back in school, how you always insisted on sitting by the window?"

He laughed. "Of course. Back then, the window was just an excuse to steal glances at you."

"And now?"

"Now, I live to watch over the three of you. Ishan and these two little ones—you are my reason for being."

At night, Arindam sleeps with his hand resting near her—like an invisible guardian. Sometimes, when Bharsha wakes up in the middle of the night, she sees him half-asleep, yet his hand is still placed protectively over her stomach, as if ensuring everyone inside is safe.

One day, a wild storm was raging outside. The wind rattled the window panes. Bharsha went to stand by the window to watch the rain, but she suddenly felt a wave of dizziness. In a split second, Arindam was there, catching her before she could stumble.

"Steady... be careful, Bharsha!" His voice was thick with fear.

Bharsha leaned back against his chest and smiled. "I'm fine. Nothing can happen to me as long as you're standing behind me."

Arindam pressed a long kiss to her forehead. "I don't want you to experience even a moment of discomfort."

On the day of the check-up, Arindam gripped Bharsha's hand as if he wanted to absorb any pain she might feel. When the monitor played the sound of two tiny heartbeats synchronized together, the room filled with a heavenly melody.

The doctor smiled. "Both heartbeats are very strong!"

Arindam's eyes welled up. He leaned close to her stomach and whispered, "Listen, you two... don't give your mother a hard time. I'm right here waiting for you."

Looking at him, Bharsha realized that this man was more than just a husband; he was her sanctuary. The days of pregnancy aren't easy—mood swings, exhaustion, and sudden anxieties often overwhelm her. But every time she felt weak, Arindam was there to remind her: "You are not alone, Bharsha. We are in this together."

One night, she asked him pensively, "You take such good care of me now... but what if I change? What if I lose my beauty?"

Arindam replied, "Love isn't about remaining the same; it's about embracing the change. No matter how you change, you will always be my Bharsha."

Outside, the rain continued to pour. Inside, a family was growing stronger. Storms might come, but they are no longer afraid. Because the boy from the seat by the window now shelters the entire home in his embrace.
