Chapter 20 - TAEHYUNG

As weeks passed, the results came in. You, Jungkook, Sol Hee, and Taesung had all been accepted into the same big university.

Your group screamed with joy, celebrating at your house.

Your mom hugged you proudly, your dad smiled, and Yu-Jun shouted: "Noona, now you'll be a real topper in college too!"

You laughed, but inside, your heart whispered: "This is the end of school life. And the beginning of something even bigger."

Meanwhile, Jungkook sat quietly in the corner, watching you celebrate.

 He didn't tease, didn't smirk

. But his eyes said everything: The rivalry isn't over.

It's just moving to a new stage.

The gates of the university towered high, decorated with banners welcoming the new batch. Students rushed in with excitement, laughter echoing across the campus.

You walked with Sol Hee and Taesung, clutching your admission papers, heart racing.

The air smelled of fresh beginnings — new faces, new challenges, new stories.

Jungkook walked a few steps behind with his boys, casual as ever, headphones around his neck. He looked calm, but his eyes flicked toward you more than once. You ignored him, determined to focus on your new life.

The auditorium was packed. Professors gave speeches, seniors cracked jokes, and juniors whispered nervously.

You sat in the middle row with Sol Hee and Taesung.

Jungkook sat diagonally behind, his gaze occasionally brushing past you.

Then, the professor announced: "Let's welcome one of our most promising new students — Kim Taehyung."

A tall boy walked in, dressed neatly, his aura calm yet magnetic. His smile was warm, his voice deep. The moment he introduced himself, the hall buzzed.

Taehyung: "Hello everyone. I'm Kim Taehyung. I love art, music, and exploring new ideas."

Your heart skipped.

Something about him felt different. Not loud like Jungkook, not teasing — but gentle, mysterious, and captivating.

The First Interaction

After orientation, students mingled outside. You stood with Sol Hee, sipping water.

 Suddenly, Taehyung approached.

Taehyung: "Hi, you're Y/n, right? I saw your name on the topper list."

 You blinked, surprised

. Y/n: "Yes… that's me."

Taehyung:smiling softly "Impressive. I hope we end up in the same group someday."

Your cheeks warmed. You nodded, trying to stay calm.

From a distance, Jungkook watched, jaw tightening. Taesung noticed and whispered to him: "Bro, don't glare. It's just a conversation." But Jungkook didn't reply.

The Classroom Entry

The first class began. You entered the lecture hall, scanning for seats. Sol Hee sat beside you. Taesung took the row behind. Jungkook sat with his boys on the other side.

Then Taehyung walked in.

He looked around, then smiled at you. Taehyung: "Is this seat taken?" You shook your head.

He sat beside you, his presence calm but electrifying.

Throughout the lecture, he whispered small comments, making you laugh quietly. You felt drawn to him — his voice, his smile, his ease.

Meanwhile, Jungkook sat stiff, pretending to focus but clearly restless.

Every time you laughed at Taehyung's words, Jungkook's pen tapped harder against his notebook.

The Lunch Break

At lunch, your group sat together. Taehyung joined, fitting in easily. He shared stories about his hometown, his love for painting, his passion for music. You listened intently, eyes shining.

Sol Hee teased: "Y/n, you're smiling too much today." You blushed, looking down.

From the other table, Jungkook's boys teased him.

"Bro, she's already interested in Taehyung."

Jungkook muttered: "Shut up." But his eyes stayed locked on you.

Later, you went to the library to collect reference books.

Taehyung appeared again, holding a stack of novels.

Taehyung: "You like literature too?"

You nodded. Y/n: "Yes. It's my escape."

Taehyung: "Same. Maybe we can exchange books sometime."

Your heart fluttered. You smiled softly.

From the corner, Jungkook walked in, pretending to search for a book but clearly watching. He clenched his jaw, muttering under his breath:

"She never smiled at me like that."

The Evening Walk

After classes, students walked out of campus.

Taehyung walked beside you, carrying his bag.

Taehyung: "You know, you're different. Calm, intelligent, but also… mysterious."

 You laughed nervously

. Y/n: "Mysterious? I don't think so."

Taehyung: "Trust me. I notice things."

Your cheeks burned.

You felt a strange pull toward him — not rivalry, not confusion, but pure attraction.

Behind you, Jungkook walked with his boys, silent.

Taesung nudged him. "Bro, you're jealous." Jungkook muttered: "I'm not. She can do what she wants." But his eyes betrayed him.

The Night Message

That night, your phone buzzed.

 Message from Taehyung:

Taehyung: "It was nice talking to you today. I hope we become good friends."

You smiled, typing back: Y/n: "Me too. I enjoyed it."

Seconds later, another message arrived.

This time, from Jungkook.

Jungkook: "So… you're already close to Taehyung?"

You stared at the screen, heart racing.

You typed coldly: Y/n: "It's none of your business."

 Silence.

But you knew — the tension had just doubled.

You lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. Your mind replayed Taehyung's smile, his words, his calm presence.

Your heart whispered: "This feels different. This feels real."
