Y/n came from school, her mom was not at home. Umm… actually her mom is a fashion designer and has a big showroom in Busan itself and her dad is rarely at home because of his busy schedule.
She put her bag on her study table in her room, changed clothes, took snacks and opened her laptop, headphones on and sat on her bed.
After 1 hour, her mom came in her room. Her class 10th exam has just finished.
Mom: Y/naa, how was your exam?
Y/n: It was great mom.
Mom: what are you doing in laptop?
Y/n: Web series
Mom: Ok
Y/n: Eomma, come let's watch together.
Mom: No no, I'm busy.
Y/n: Ok
Then her mom lefts.
Dinner time;
Y/n and her brother were having dinner together. Her mom was washing utensils the her phone rang.
Y/M: Yu-Jun, see who's on the call?
He went and came again and said.
Yu-Jun: Mom, it's dad.
Y/n: Dad!! Give me the phone.
Then Yu-Jun gave her the phone and she talked with her dad.
Y/n: Daddy, when will you come?
Y/D: Sweety, I will surely come after one week, it's so hectic schedule.
Y/n: It's not fair dad.
Y/D: Ah, leave this tell me what do you want as your gift?
Y/n: Gift, but for what?
Y/D: For your exams.
Y/n: Exams what ?
Y/D: Yes, you're again gonna top your class.
Y/n: I don't know dad, what will happen.
Y/D: Just be positive and trust your hard work.
Y/n: Okay, daddy bye. Eomma, take the call
Days left, and she came in 11th class that's gonna be thrilling for her.
Let's start with her days in class 11th.
As usual she was sitting in the Accountancy's class half asleep, Principal of her school came in the class and a tall , handsome boy came with him.
Principal said that he is a new student and he went back. As per teacher's question he gave his introduction.
Him: Hello all, I am Jungkook, Jeon Jungkook.
Y/n was sitting quiet showing no concern on her face, like he was not even here where her friends were watching him and smiling. Jungkook's attention was solely caught by her as she was alone who was not staring him which really impressed him and make him think about Y/n. But when he introduced himself she tightened her grip on pen.
Then he went to 2nd bench where a boy was sitting alone, did a handshake with him and sat down.
Y/n's bench mate, whose name is Sol Hee said to her slowly.
Sol hee: Y/n, Isn't he handsome? And his name is also so cute.
Y/n: what's so cute? He's normal like others.
Sol hee: Have you even seen him, see he looks smart
Then she turned her face towards him , he was laughing with some boys around him. Simultaneously when he turned, Jungkook saw her and their eyes met but just for 0.002 seconds. And Y/n felt something in her heart but dunno what.
Y/n: Yes, I've seen and he looks like a fool.
Sol hee: Ah!! Shut up, you are a total crazy person.
After the first day, Jungkook didn't sit beside you anymore.
He shifted to the boys' row with his group — four boys who acted like they already owned the class. They were loud, popular, dramatic. Jungkook fit right in.
But unlike them, he wasn't soft or polite in front of others.
He never complimented you, never smiled at you in public…
But he also never spoke against you.
Games bell rang and everyone ran outside.
Your girl group of four girls sat under the big tree, gossiping and laughing. His four-boy group was sitting opposite, near the basketball court, pretending to look cool.
Other boys and girls were playing badminton, football, kho-kho… chaos everywhere.
You were sitting, sipping water and talking when suddenly their group got up and walked toward your group.
Your friends froze.
They reached the tree, hands in pockets, tone casual but eyes sharp.
Jk: Can we sit here?
Y/n: No
Sol hee: Ha ha, she is just joking. Yes, you may.
Then they sat near them not very close.
You watched silently, pretending to be uninterested.
His bench mate Taesung joined too, sitting beside him.
Taesung started talking to you directly:
"So, Y/n did you like my poetry?"
Y/n: yes, it was so good, I read it twice
Jk: which poetry Taesung?
Taesung: I told you that I make poetries sometimes but you denied that you don't like so I didn't send you.
Jk: Oh! You can send me, I also like.
Jungkook looked at Taesung… then looked at you… then looked away like he didn't care, but he was obviously listening.
Taesung continued asking things. Jungkook suddenly interrupted:
"What's your name again? Y/n…right?"
You replied calmly, "Yes, you know it. We are in same class since 2 months"
He nodded and smirked, "Just confirming. You act like I don't exist, so I thought maybe you forgot mine too."
Your friends giggled.
You didn't.
He then started talking more — but not with you.
He talked more with Sol Hee.
"Which game do you like?"
"What's your favourite subject?"
"Oh really? Same!"
You rolled your eyes slightly.
Taesung sensed tension and changed topic, but Jungkook kept watching you in between conversations.
Then your teacher came between you.
Mam: what are you doing, students?
Jungkook: mam, we played a lot so we are just resting.
Mam: okay.
Then she sat between you and checked the some exam papers. Both groups(yours and theirs) were talking with teacher.
Between conversations your mam said:
Mam: Well, jungkook I liked how you expressed your views on the topic we were discussing today's morning, but girls why didn't you speak. I thought you would speak. Y/n I thought you had views because you suggest the best when needed.
Y/n(spoke like rival taunting jungkook as well):
Mam, he was telling that's all, I thought what would I say.
Jungkook: But no one was speaking that's why I spoke
Y/n: You don't let no one speak
Jungkook: I didn't stop you'
Y/n: You don't stop
Then your teacher gave both of you the death glare and laughed.
Mam: Taesung, give me some stones, I think both of these need some.
One of your friend said in your ear:
"Y/n, you really answer him the best, but we can't."
Y/n: He do such things.
We were just talking about random things with teacher and our own groups. Between one topic your teacher said:
Mam: well, this is the topic your teams are on one side. You are like enemies (laughed and pointed to both our groups.)
Jungkook: No mam, it's not like that We are not enemies.
Then he glanced me.
I saw him raising my eyebrow and then turned my face.
After sometime bell was about to ring.
When you were leaving with your group the ground to leave, you were behind your friends then he suddenly came to you and said:
"Next time, don't ignore me so much. I'm not invisible."
You walked away without replying, but you screamed internally.
He just smirked behind your back..
You had no idea that this rivalry was about to grow into something way deeper.
After returning in the class;
Sol hee: Y/n, did you see Jungkook was only talking with me, I think he also likes me
Y/n: Good, then enjoy
Internally you didn't like his closeness with Sol hee.
