Chapter 19 - ---OVER---

Later, while leaving class, you walked with Sol Hee. Jungkook walked ahead with Taesung. For a second, he turned back. Your eyes met. No smirk, no glare. Just a steady look. You quickly turned away, but your heart raced.

Another assignment came. Groups were formed again. You and Jungkook ended up in the same group, along with Sol Hee and Taesung.

This time, there were no fights. You spoke calmly, he listened quietly. He added visuals, you added content. The work flowed smoothly.

Your friends whispered: "Y/n, you two are finally working like normal people."

You smiled faintly, but inside you thought: "This feels too calm. Something's hidden beneath."

During games period, your group sat under the tree again. His group walked over, just like old times. Taesung started talking, Sol Hee laughed, everyone joined in. Jungkook sat silently, watching. At one point, he asked you softly: Jungkook: "Do you ever get tired of ignoring me?" You replied calmly: Y/n: "Do you ever get tired of trying?" He smirked faintly, but didn't answer. The silence stretched again.

That night, your phone buzzed. Message from Jungkook: "You know, silence doesn't mean distance. I still notice you."

You stared at the screen, heart racing. But you typed back: "Noticing me doesn't change anything."

He replied instantly: "Maybe not. But it changes me."

You didn't reply.

You put the phone down, whispering to yourself: "Why does he always say things that make me think?"

The next morning, you walked into class calmly. Jungkook was already there, sitting with his boys. He didn't smirk, didn't tease. But when you sat down, his eyes flicked toward you. Just for a second.

You ignored him, but inside, your heart whispered: "This fire isn't gone. It's just burning quietly."

The sun felt brighter that day. You walked into school with your group, dressed neatly, carrying only a few notebooks. The corridors were buzzing — not with exam stress, but with excitement and nostalgia. Everyone knew: this was the last day of Class 12.

Teachers smiled warmly, juniors whispered, seniors laughed loudly. The air was heavy with memories.

The Classroom Atmosphere

Your classroom looked different. Walls decorated with farewell posters, desks scribbled with names and doodles, friends clicking photos everywhere. You sat with Sol Hee and your group, smiling but hiding the pinch in your heart.

Jungkook entered with his boys, unusually quiet. He looked around, scanning the room, then sat down. For a second, his eyes met yours. No smirk, no glare. Just a silent acknowledgement: this is the end of an era.

Your class teacher entered, holding a diary. She looked at everyone with teary eyes.

Teacher: "You all grew up in front of me. Today is your last day as Class 12 students. I'm proud of you."

The class went silent. Some smiled, some wiped tears. You felt your throat tighten. Even Jungkook looked down, tapping his pen nervously.

After the emotional start, the class turned lively. Everyone began writing farewell notes on each other's shirts with markers. "Best topper!" "Enemy forever!" "Don't forget me!"

Your friends scribbled on your shirt, laughing.

Jungkook's boys teased him, writing "Drama King" on his back. Sol Hee wrote "My bestie forever" on your sleeve.

 You smiled, hugging her tightly.

The Group Photo

The principal called everyone to the ground for the farewell group photo. Students lined up, teachers stood behind, cameras flashed. You stood with your group, smiling brightly. Jungkook stood a few rows away, but his eyes flicked toward you during the photo. For one heartbeat, you both smiled at the same time. The camera captured it — a silent memory frozen forever.

After the photo, juniors gave speeches. They praised seniors, shared funny stories, and promised to remember them. You felt emotional, realizing you were now leaving behind this chapter.

Then came the performances.

Dance, songs, skits — laughter filled the hall. You joined your group in a small dance, smiling through tears.

Jungkook performed with his boys, energetic and loud.

The crowd cheered. But in between steps, his eyes searched for you.

When the last bell rang, silence fell. Everyone froze, realizing this was the final bell of school life. Friends hugged, cried, clicked last-minute selfies. Teachers blessed students, juniors waved goodbye.

You hugged Sol Hee tightly, tears rolling down.

Taesung smiled softly, wishing you luck. Your group promised to stay connected forever.

Jungkook walked past you, stopping for a second.

 He looked at you steadily.

 Jungkook: "So… this is it."

You replied softly: Y/n: "Yes. This is the end."

He smirked faintly, but his eyes looked heavy. Jungkook: "Or maybe the beginning."

You didn't reply. You walked out of the gate with your friends, heart racing, eyes wet.

The school gate closed behind you. You turned once, looking at the building that held years of rivalry, laughter, tears, and memories. Your heart whispered: "This was more than just school. This was my story. And it will stay with me forever."

Meanwhile, Jungkook stood with his boys, watching you leave. He didn't call out. He didn't tease. But his eyes said everything: The rivalry may end here… but the connection will never fade.

Exams were over, farewell was done, and applications were submitted. Life suddenly felt slower. No daily rush to school, no teachers, no bells. Just long summer days filled with waiting — waiting for results, waiting for college life to begin.

You spent most mornings at home, helping your mom at her showroom sometimes, reading novels, or scrolling through your laptop. Your dad was home more often now, since his schedule had eased slightly. And Yu-Jun, your younger brother, was always around — mischievous, playful, and full of surprises.

Meeting Friends

Even though school was over, you still met your group sometimes. Sol Hee came over often, bringing snacks and gossip. Taesung visited with his poetry notebook, reading lines aloud.

And Jungkook… he showed up occasionally, casual as always, pretending it was "just group work" but clearly restless without the daily rivalry.

Sometimes you all sat in your living room, laptops open, pretending to "research universities" but mostly laughing, teasing, and eating. Your mom would peek in, smiling at the sight of you all together.

One afternoon, your group gathered at your house again. You were in the study room, working on a presentation draft for university applications. Suddenly, Yu-Jun barged in, holding a drone he had secretly bought online.

Yu-Jun: "Noona, look! I can fly it inside the house!" You panicked. "Yu-Jun, not here!"

But before you could stop him, the drone whirred loudly and flew straight into the living room.

Everyone screamed and ducked. Sol Hee laughed hysterically, Taesung tried to catch it, and Jungkook stood up, amused but ready to help.

The drone zoomed dangerously close to the chandelier.

Your mom shouted from the kitchen: "Yu-Jun! Stop this madness!"

Finally, Jungkook grabbed a cushion, swung it,

and knocked the drone down safely. Everyone clapped, laughing.

Yu-Jun pouted: "Hyung, you ruined my flight!"

Jungkook smirked: "Better than ruining your mom's chandelier."

You glared at Yu-Jun, but couldn't help laughing too. It became one of those unforgettable house moments — chaotic, funny, and strangely bonding.

Later that evening, after everyone left, you sat on the terrace with Yu-Jun. He looked at you seriously for once.

Yu-Jun: "Noona, you're going to college soon. Will you still play with me?"

Your heart softened. "Of course. I'll always be here."

He smiled, hugging you tightly.

From the street below, you saw Jungkook walking home with his boys.

He glanced up for a second, saw you with Yu-Jun, and looked away quickly. But you felt it — that silent connection, even in distance.

During those free months, nights felt heavier. You often sat at your desk, scrolling through university websites, imagining the future. Sometimes your phone buzzed with messages from Sol Hee or Taesung. And occasionally… Jungkook.

Jungkook: "Did you finish your essay draft?"

Y/n: "Yes. Why?

" Jungkook: "Just checking. Don't want you to beat me again." You rolled your eyes, but smiled faintly.

The rivalry was quieter now.

Not gone.

Just waiting for the next chapter.
