Chapter 25 - TAEHYUNG

Sol Hee: "Y/n! Why are you crying? You don't even like him that way." You wiped your eyes, voice trembling.

Y/n: "I don't know… I just… I thought he would propose me. Not because I love him, but because… he was always close to me. I thought I mattered that much."

Sol Hee hugged you tightly.

Sol Hee: "You do matter. But maybe not in that way. And that's okay."

From a distance, Jungkook had seen everything. He saw Taehyung's proposal, he saw your tears, he saw Sol Hee holding you. His jaw clenched, his fists tightened.

He muttered under his breath: "She's crying for him… even when she says she doesn't love him."

Later, in the café, Sol Hee sat with you, trying to cheer you up.

Sol Hee: "Listen, Y/n. You don't have to feel guilty for crying. Sometimes it's not about love. It's about expectations, about feeling left behind."

Y/n: sniffling "Exactly. I thought… he would choose me. Even as a friend. But he didn't."

Jungkook walked in, pretending to grab a drink, but his eyes stayed on you. He couldn't stop himself. He came over.

Jungkook: "So… you thought Taehyung would propose you?" You looked up, startled.

Y/n: "Yes. I thought he would. That's why I cried. Not because I love him, but because I felt… replaced."

Jungkook:leaning closer, voice low "Do you even realize how insane that sounds? You're crying over someone you don't love. And ignoring the one who actually—" He stopped himself, biting his lip.

Sol Hee glanced between you two, sensing the storm.

Sol Hee: "Jungkook, don't start. She's already upset."

Jungkook: coldly "I'm not starting. I'm just saying… she cries for the wrong people."

That night, you lay in bed, staring at the ceiling.

Taehyung's smile replayed in your mind, his proposal, the crowd's cheers. You whispered to yourself: "I don't love him.

Then why did it hurt so much?"

Meanwhile, Jungkook sat in his dorm, restless. He scrolled through his phone, staring at your chat window.

He typed: Jungkook: "Stop crying for him. Cry for me instead." He deleted it instantly, throwing the phone aside.

The next few days on campus felt heavier than usual.

You tried to focus on lectures, on group work, on Sol Hee's endless chatter, but your mind kept drifting back to Taehyung.

One afternoon, walking through the courtyard with Sol Hee, you saw him.

Taehyung was sitting on the bench with the girl he had proposed. She was laughing, her hand brushing his arm, and he leaned closer, smiling in that calm, warm way you knew so well.

Your steps faltered. The sight hit harder than you expected

. You didn't love him romantically, but you had grown attached — to his presence, his quiet support, his way of noticing you. And now, he was giving that attention to someone else.

Y/n:whispering to Sol Hee "I feel… replaced. He was always around me. I got used to it. And now… it's her."

Sol Hee:hugging your arm tightly "Y/n, you don't love him like that. You know it.

But you're hurting because you lost a comfort. That's normal." Tears welled up in your eyes, spilling before you could stop them.

From across the courtyard, Jungkook saw everything.

He saw Taehyung with the girl, he saw you crying, Sol Hee holding you.

His jaw clenched, his fists tightened. He muttered under his breath: "She's crying again… for him. Even when she says she doesn't love him."

He walked over, unable to hold back.

Jungkook: "So this is what hurts you? Seeing him with her?" You looked up, startled, wiping your tears.

Y/n: "Yes. I don't know why. I don't love him, but… I thought he was mine as a friend. I thought he'd always stay close. And now he's not."

Jungkook:voice sharp "You're crying because you feel replaced. But you never noticed how many times you replaced me."

Sol Hee gasped softly, sensing the storm. Sol Hee: "Jungkook, don't—"

Jungkook:cutting her off, eyes locked on you "No, let me say it. You cry for Taehyung, but when did you ever cry for me? When did you ever notice me the way you notice him?"

Your chest tightened. His words were raw, painful, but true.

That evening, you sat in your room, replaying everything. Taehyung's smile with the girl, your tears, Jungkook's sharp confession.

Yu-Jun peeked in, holding his drone.

Yu-Jun: "Noona, why are you sad again?" You forced a smile, hugging him.

Y/n: "It's nothing. Just… college things." He pouted. "Don't let anyone replace you. You're the best."

His innocent words cut deeper than anything.

Meanwhile, Jungkook sat in his dorm, restless. His friends teased him, but he ignored them. He scrolled through his phone, staring at your chat window.

He typed: Jungkook: "I don't want to replace him. I want to be the one you can't replace."

He deleted it instantly, throwing the phone aside.

The next day, the group gathered for class. Sol Hee and Taesung sat together, smiling softly.

Taehyung walked in with the girl, his hand brushing hers.

You looked away quickly, but Jungkook noticed.

He leaned closer, whispering: Jungkook: "Don't cry again. If you want someone who won't replace you… look at me."

Your heart raced.

The rivalry, the jealousy, the emotions — everything was tangled.

And you knew: this wasn't just about Taehyung anymore.

It was about Jungkook, about you, about the storm that had been building for years.

The college fest night had arrived — lights strung across the campus, music echoing from the main stage, students laughing and dancing everywhere.

It was the kind of evening where emotions ran high, where friendships and rivalries blurred under the glow of celebration.

You stood with Sol Hee near the food stalls, trying to enjoy the atmosphere, but your eyes kept drifting.

Taehyung was there, walking hand in hand with the girl he had proposed.

They looked happy, comfortable, and it made your chest tighten again.

You didn't love him romantically, but you had grown used to his presence, his attention, his quiet support

. Now, it felt like someone had taken that away.

Sol Hee noticed your silence.

Sol Hee: "Y/n, don't stare. You'll only hurt yourself more."

 Y/n:softly "I can't help it. I feel… replaced."

Later, as the crowd gathered near the stage for performances, Taehyung approached you.
