Chapter 1 - Ch1 Thief in the alleyways

Iris ran through the streets, smiling like an idiot while guards chased after her. She had managed to steal a brownie from the bakery, swiping it quickly while the baker was looking away. Finally, she had something to eat.

She hid in a back alleyway, giggling to herself, until she noticed a boy lying at her feet. She screamed in shock, the sound drawing the guards closer. In a panic, she hoisted the boy onto her back and ran toward her street.

After settling him down on her cardboard bed and draping a rag over him, she finally got a look at his face. He had mid-length white hair that brushed his neck and covered his eyes. Suddenly, he snapped his eyes open and tried to punch her. Iris barely dodged the attack; he was much scarier than she had imagined. He had heterochromia, one eye was dark blue and the other was golden yellow.

She yelped "Whoa! hey what are you doing I saved you" his eyes were wary looking at her with such despise that made her shiver. 'Hey its ok calm down" he finally lowered his fist voice raspy like he hasn't talked in a while "Who are you?"

Iris put her hand up like she was a criminal "Hi I'm Iris I'm uhm" she counts on her fingers mumbling to her self "uh 8?" she smiled warmly her hair falling on to her face, making her look like a ragged doll.

He seems to processed the information in his head noting her name. He sat down his knees feeling like jelly. He slowly mumbled out a "Im Kilian, 10".

She made a thinking face "uhm how many fingers is that?" Kilian laughed genuinely letting his guard down. His voice was now brighter, not his raspy voice gone replaced by his childish voice.
