Chapter 3: Two Truths Sought

The Goddess of Dreams broke the silence first.

"This vision," she said slowly, "does not obey my domain."

She turned away from the dream's fading remnants. "There is only one who may understand such things."

They went to the God of Scholars.

He stood surrounded by floating records, histories written and rewritten by time itself. When the dream was shown to him, he did not react immediately. He watched in full silence—the road, the machine, the woman, the house that did not belong to this world.

When it ended, he spoke.

"There are two explanations," the God of Scholars said. "Both are bound by law."

The nameless monarch listened.

"The first," the god continued, "is interference. Your enemies may have discovered traces of your past existence. You are nearing ascension. One more trial, and you will become a celestial god. If you fail now, you will not fall—but you will be weakened."

A measured pause.

"That weakness would be enough for others to act."

The monarch showed no reaction.

"And the second?" he asked.

The God of Scholars exhaled.

"The second is incomplete destiny," he said. "Your past life ended abruptly. Duties were left undone. The life circle did not close."

The Goddess of Dreams understood.

"So the soul remembers," she said.

"Yes," the god replied. "Not clearly. Not willingly. But persistently."

The monarch lowered his gaze.

"And if this is true?" he asked.

"Then even divinity will not erase it," the God of Scholars said. "Only completion will."

Silence returned.

The nameless monarch lifted his head.

"Then I will face the trials," he said calmly.

The God of Scholars nodded.

"That choice," he said, "was already made long ago."

Thank you
