???I will be assessing you through a more in-depth physical and magical test. Do you have any questions before we begin?
Demos: uhhh.... yes, why am I the only one here, Miss...
???: Where are my manners? You may call me Eve, and as to why you're the only one is because you decided to apply at the very last second. If that's your last question, then let's begin with a bench press
She leads him to a bench press station, slowly increasing the weight by 5 pounds until he can't lift it. After a bit, he quits at 90 pounds in total. After he is led to the treadmills.
Eve: For this one, just run as far as you can until you feel like you can't anymore. We are looking for distance, not speed.
Demos starts to run a mile, he is doing fine, 3 miles in, he start strugle, and he stops 5 miles in as he is sweating and breathing heavy.
Eve: Let's see the bench pressing and endurance test is done, next is magical, and then combat testing. Follow me.
She leads him out of the gym area to a big room witha massive glass orb on a metal platform adn to the right of the orb is a computer and a black stand.
Eve: Just put your hand on the orb and inject it with your mana
Demos walk up and places his hand on the orb and he feels his eyes clos as he feels small mass of blue light in his chest and just by thinking of movint i tit moves from his chest along his arm and finally onto his hand, opening his eyes he sees his hand glowing blue and in the orb is a Red, Blue, Green, Gray, Yellow, Black, and White orbs moving around in the orb.
Eve: You can take your hand off now
When he takes his hand off the orb, the different-colored orbs in the center slowly dissolve into nothing.
Eve: Next is the final test. This is the hardest portion, follow me
She leads him to another room with another room at the far end thats all windows, as there is someone there, but he is too far away to make any details.
Eve: Stay here and wait for instructions
Eve walks into the room and the far end, Demos sees the room is empty, and he blink then it's not empty, in front of him is a Goblin, A weak 4-foot creature that looks like if you shrink a human and give it pointy ears and green skin. Eve's voice comes from speakers all over the room.
Eve: You will fight 5 waves of monsters, these are constructs from a mage who is here with me. One fatal blow to it will kill it. If you sustain a lethal hit, then you will fail. The test will start in 3....2....1.... Now.
The Goblin that was standing perfectly still starts to run at Demos. It tries to use its sharp fingernails to try and slash Demos' stomach, but he can easily dodge it and kick the goblin to the side as the goblin falls to the floor, and Demos stands above it.
Demos: "It's not real... just projection... so it's all right if I kill it...right...."
He uses all of his strength and punches the goblin in the head as the goblin shatters into light blue particles.
Eve: Good job, it's now for Wave Two
In the blink of an eye, two goblins appear and look exactly like the previous one.
Demos: "I should be able to handle all 5 Waves if they are all Go-"
Eve: Begin
The goblins rush at Demos, the right one leaps to try and attack Demos right arm while the left one goes to claw at his legs, he can dodge both by just stepping back and to the left, the one who leaps falls face first onto the floor while the other one stumbles but can stop it self from falling, Demos goes to the one that stumbled as he kicks it making it falls on its back as Demos closes his eyes and turns his head away as he raises his right leg and does 2 full power stomps on the goblin and when he looks back he sees faint light blue particals dissapear but thats when he feels a sharp pain from his left leg as he sees the last goblin has bitten his leg and not letting go, Demos uses his right leg to kick the goblin off and then he stomps it to it becomes blue particals, He looks at his leg as the teeth markes got in deep as a white light surronds his leg and when it dissapates his leg is healed and stopped hurting. Eve's voice comes from the speakers once again.
Eve: The mage has healed you. I have decided to end your trial. If you make it in the final trial, then you will get a text in one week, and you may go.
Demos exits the room as Eve speaks to the Mage.
Eve: He is a standard human in the physical test and combat, and below average in magic, aside from the fact has an affinity for all basic natures.... as much as i dont want to pass him i might have to....
The mage speaks in a soft, calming voice.
Mage: Why is that?
Eve: The Hunter Acadamey as you know teach Hunters to be capable when out on the field, and often we give contracts to the Hunters who pass.... some accept.... some don't... and those who dont go to Guilds, and as if that isnt enough Guilds are starting to train new Hunters and if the hunters preform well in the guild then they would be a permenet member... I dare to say that in the near future, Guilds might become greater than most countries...
Time Skip A Few Hours
Demos decided to gam ble on the fact that he would get into the 3rd phase, to prepare for what the Practic test has instore he used the rest of his money to prepay the room he was staying at for a week, and then he bought two books, one about the Mana Heart used by humans, and the basics of fire magic.
