As they are starting to calm Clarissa down, blood starts pooling under her, unknowingly. Turns out one of the male underlings did something to her Caspian is the first to take notice of it. Seraphiel picks her up and takes her to the nurses' bay that is in the castle. Once there, they have a nurse check her, and she asks did either of you men have sex with her they immediately say no and ask why. The nurse says well she has internal bruising, and she's miscarrying. Clarissa hears this and starts breaking down, remembering what happened to her, and she screams and begs for the male servant to stop, not realizing that none of what she's feeling is actually happening; she's relapsed back to that point. Both Seraphiel and Caspian get beside her to calm her down. The girls show up and are freaking concerned, as they have never witnessed her like this before, then everyone remembers the screaming every night again and puts two and two together.
Once they calm her down, the nurses explain that there is no way she would have known she was pregnant, as it wasn't even a week yet. they all freeze and look at clarissa remembering her wounds nightalin is the first to get pissed and protective of clarissa using her bond with her to keep her mentally sound, next is caspian using his bond with her as a way to keep her from losing her kind heart, next is mayllen using her bond with her to connect on a deeper level, and finally is the completely rageful seraphiel using his bond with her as protection over her body, mind, and soul.
They each get more and more pissed to the point that Clarissa uses her bond as a shield to immediately calm them. they look at her, she calmly says do not worry i love that you are all extremly protective over me but your anger will not solve anything, nightalin is the first to speak up saying; not solve anything, they hurt you our babygirl, you think we will idly stand by as you suffer no we will do everything in our power to protect you NO ONE HURTS WHATS OURS! They all agree with that statement, but Clarissa just shakes her head. Can we all just agree it just wasn't the right time for something like that to happen for me? I'm okay with not being a mom just yet. I've helped raise and take care of your beautiful children and the children of Atalian, so they weren't meant to be a part of our story quite yet. They look at her in shock; she's not upset that her unborn child was stripped from her.
With this happening, they all decide to take a break from castle duties to spend time with Clarissa. She is happy about this, but also sad that it took her losing something precious to have them get closer to her. Seraphiel is still pissed off about it and goes to the balcony of the palace. Clarissa, now in a silk robe, walks out to stand next to him. She watches as he's leaning on it with a drink and a smoke, letting his anger out before it consumes him. Leaning against the door clarissa says hey beauty, want some company. Seraphiel looks over to clarissa smirkingly, Shouldn't you be resting. She responds back shouldn't you be handling your duties as king, which includes not avoiding the kingdom because of what happened to me. He turns to her, im not avoiding my duties because of what happened i just needed a break, clarissa puts her hand on his arm. first off, i understand your pissed but what we are not about to do is take that anger out on me verbally, secondly, you can take as many breaks as you need as long as you remember you're still human.
With clarissa near him he relaxes and becomes less defensive towards her. Now lets go inside and ill start a relaxing bath for you, Clarissa says smiling. as she walks inside he longingly looks at her with a mix of admiration and something between anger and fusteration, then walks in after her shaking his head.
