now to begin our story, the dark fae realm called Atalan holds too many things, one being their beauty is beyond compare. The men and women are so beautiful that others crumble and wonder how they found such beautiful creatures. Our king's Caspian and Seraphiel, along with their muses/queens, Nightalin and Mayllen, are in search of someone they can comfort and be their starlight, unaware that the lowly fae maid is the missing piece they need.
The lowly fae maid, her name is Clarissa; she is magical and can see into people's hearts to see whether or not they are honest. She also has four symbols hidden on her forearm, each connecting her to them: Caspian's being fire and ice, Seraphiel's being angel wings with a sword, Nightalin's being a crescent moon with a black heart, and finally Mayllen with a crown and dagger. She dislikes that she has the symbols because it means she'll no longer be in the shadows and out in the light. Reluctantly, for her, they have yet to truly notice her in the palace (until now), watching them in secret, wanting them to take care of her and choose her as their "little" fae. secretly she is disliked by the other maids as they don't understand why they chose her in the first place.
Our first set of kings and queens is Caspian and Mayllen, both with awestruck beauty that can be considered unworldly. Caspian may be a ruler on his own, but he is the right-hand man to Seraphiel. He is known as the protector and warlord king of the realm. He's kind and caring, and charismatic as well. Mayllen is fiercely protective of Caspian but can be kind, caring, and, when needed, one of the best female fighters this realm has ever seen. Now onto Seraphiel and Nightalin, these two are fiercely protective of one another as platonic mates. Seraphiel is known to be quite mysterious; not much is known about him except that he was the former warlord king before he bestowed the title on his right-hand man and fellow king, Caspian. Secretly, though, he is protective of his muse and his whole kingdom and the realm of Atalian itself, doing everything in silence. Nightalin, on the other hand, is not only fiercely protective of Seraphiel, but she's also protective of her brother Caspian, and Wifey Mayllen, and unknowingly protective of Clarissa. She is also loving, kind, compassionate, stubborn, and a pain in the ass at times.
They each have each other's symbols marked on their forearms, but there's one they do not recognize, and it would be Clarissa's symbol, the shield. As they would protect her, she will be their powerful shield.
The symbols and their meaning
Fire and ice - can be calm under pressure, but once you've angered one with this symbol their is no return for you
Angel wings with a sword- fiercely protective and will fight for what's right, holds the balance between calm and uncontrollable anger.
Crescent moon with a black heart- usually means dark magic, which is right in this case, but also means protector of the night.
The crown and dagger- always meant to be a queen, will strictly rule, but won't let up until justice is served
The shield- fiercely protective- watches over those who carry this symbol, uses defensive magic to keep those they love safe.
