"Mira has been acting weird lately ..has anything happened to your girlfriend?" David whispered.
Karlye fixed the bouquet in his hands.
"No everything is fine " he said.
"Are you sure ...I mean you both are not staying together anymore so how sure are you she is okay " David asked.
They entered the pizza place that was already filled with people. "Let's talk later right now I need to congratulate my girlfriend" he said.
Andriana had finally opened her new business. Her friends from her old company, Mira and Samantha had bought in some of the staff from her company too filled the first floor. The place was beaming with happy energy.
Karlye had a familiar laughter coming from the upper floor and frowned.
He glanced up to see his father and mother, and Andriana standing next to them as she served the pizza.
He went upstairs to see ,only to be welcomed with some of his father and mother's friends who had tagged along with his parents . The whole floor was crowded with them.
He scoffed, "These two are getting on my nerves ".
"You all must support my daughter-in-law from now on " announced his father.
"Ladies order pizza for your grandkids and children's family from her only . She makes the best pizza " added his mother.
"I can't believe they are doing this for her ...I guess they love her more than you " whispered David.
Karlye glared back at him, "Instead of blabbering why don't you go back down and make orders for the whole company. I won't lose to them "
David chuckled and left.
Andriana and his parents noticed Karlye. She could see the angry expression on his face.
"Excuse me, everyone, my boyfriend is here " she said.
Karlye found himself smiling the moment she said that.
"Oh my young love " the guests all laughed.
She ran to him, and he welcomed her into his arms kissing her neck.
"These are for you, congratulations on your opening " he offered the flowers.
"Thank you " she beamed.
"Son come join us " called his father.
"Maybe later I need to take care of my girlfriend " he said leading her away.
They went back downstairs, "don't move around too much let the staff help " he said to her.
"I know I only wanted to serve Dad and Mom myself"
"Andriana I told you not to move around " they heard Mira yell. She looked back at Karlye giggling like she was telling him ,he wasn't the only one worried about her.
Mira got them a seat and told Karlye to watch her. Rosie and Mira took over with Samantha supervising them.
"Are you happy ?" he said to her.
"Mmm, I didn't expect it to be this full. We got customers even before the guests arrived. It seems the posters we passed out worked " she said.
The place was so full that most of the customers were waiting outside.
Behind Andriana's back Karlye had hired some of the best chefs in the pizza-making profession to teach her new team how to make the best pizzas. So the samples they had served out had actually contributed to the big turn up .
"I can't believe this is happening " said Rosie.
Mira chuckled, "What can't you believe seeing your sister running her own business or that she is just sitting with her man and watching us work ".
Rosie smiled, "This was her only childhood dream we dreamt of. And I only wanted it so bad because it sounded so wonderful being with her and helping her with work ".
"Did you actually like the pizza or was it a lie ?" asked Samantha.
"Why do you ask ?" Rosie blinked.
"Cause although all this was based on your love of pizza ,you haven't touched a single slice " Samantha pointed out.
Rosie breathed.
"You have such a keen eye"
Samantha nodded proudly.
Mira leaned closer, "Don't tell me you lied about liking it to her ?".
Rosie glanced back at Andriana who was seeing off Karlye's parents now.
"She used to work at this pizza place when she started college. They had really good pizza and this one time she brought home some for me since mom rarely made anything for us " she told them.
Mira sat back down to listen better.
"She had to leave for her next part-time job so she didn't know that I had a bad allergy reaction soon after I ate some of the pizza she had bought ".
"What ... you're allergic to pizza ?" muttered Mira.
Samantha glared back pushing her back down in her seat.
"I have a wheat allergy. And since we never had the leisure of having some products made from it neither of us knew until that day, I couldn't breath and my skin got so itchy. I rushed to our neighbour who helped me since mom wasn't home ".
"Thank God you found someone to help " said Mira.
"By the time we got to the hospital, I could barely breathe. But I made a full recovery and was warned in what to avoid and what to do in case I did " she explained.
"So you mean Andriana never found out ?" Samantha asked.
"I never told her, she always got back late at night so she never discovered anything unusual about me ".replied Rosie.
"Why didn't you tell her ...?". Samantha asked another question.
"Because even when she was filled with work she would run back home to bring me something to eat and that day she had this big smile on her face of accomplishment. She had always promised to get me one of those pizzas ,so this time when she did I could see it in her eyes how proud it had made her feel".
"Your childhood keeps surprising me everytime " Mira sighed.
"So what did you do with the pizzas she kept bringing home to you . Cause to her you loved the pizza that she always bought for you ".said Samantha.
"Since she never lingered around to watch me finish everything, I would throw up the moment she leaves and also take my allergy medication " she said.
"You both have sacrificed a lot for each other's happiness " said Mira.
Samantha moved closer hugging Rosie.
"You're a good younger sister but I think it's time you told her. I don't think you can continue to help around here if you have such an allergy " she advised.
Rosie nodded.
"Should it be right now or ...." Mira pointed out at the Andriana.
She was coming towards them.
