Andriana lay back, watching as a doctor walked into the room Karlye had brought her to.
He had asked if she would be okay staying at his home, and after what had happened, she didn't want to be alone, so she accepted.
When the car stopped, he carried her out and headed into the house, even in her weakened, fuzzy state, she could see how big it was.
The doctor quietly examined her and treated her injuries on her soles and ankle.
"Your body will be in pain for a few days, but with enough rest, you will feel better soon. Take some of the prescribed medication to help you sleep " said the doctor.
She nodded and watched him leave. Karlye had been standing aside observing, the moment the doctor left he moved to the bed.
"You should rest ", he helped her lie back down
Her gaze didn't leave his pale face , something had changed about him. His face was full of emotions especially his eyes, sadness and fear filled them.
Andriana grabbed his hand, "Are you okay ?"
He avoided her gaze nodding, but she could see it, that burning guilt hidden behind the fear in his eyes.
"What happened isn't your fault ....I should have made sure it was you before I got into that car " she said.
His eyes met hers.
"If I were any second late, what do you think would have happened to you in that place ?" he muttered.
She breathed.
"But you weren't, that's why I'm safe now "Her hold tightened.
He moved pulling her in for a hug.
"You must be tired too, why don't you lie down with me?" she muttered.
"Huh?!" he pulled away surprised.
She blinked, "Something wrong ?"
He scoffed shaking his head.
"No, you're right after all that I feel exhausted " he lied.
She moved back and lay down, tapping the space next to her.
Karlye laid down next to her, pulling the covers over her.
After a few seconds, the medication put her to sleep. He lay there watching her, the fluttering of her lashes as she soundly breathed, her hair resting beautifully and a calm sleeping face.
"What would I have done if something happened to you " he murmured.

Andriana woke up gasping for air, she breathed looking around. Awake now she realised it was a nightmare.
Her eyes noticed the sleeping Karlye next to her. She paused, forgetting her fears. His hair was down with a few of his bangs down his face; he had long dark lashes, and the perfect mould of his nose flowed smoothly down to his pink lips.
His body had sensed her movements when she woke up, Karlye's slowly opened his eyes meeting hers.
"Bad dream ?" his hoarse voice asked.
She nodded.
He opened his arms, "Come closer, I will hold you," he gestured.
Andriana didn't hesitate to move into his arms, embracing her Karlye held her close in his chest.
She breathed closing her eyes as the sound of her heartbeat calmed down.
He smiled as he felt her relax in his arms going back to sleep. He closed his eyes, whispering a goodnight.

Andriana was having breakfast , it was few days of her being at Karlye's house when she heard a familiar voice outside her door.
"Come in " Karlye said when a knock came at the door.
Mira walked in and Andriana beamed.
"My love ...what happened to you? " Mira fell into her friend's arms. Andriana hugged her.
When she pulled away, Mira frowned, noticing the scratches on her friend's arms and neck; one of her legs was bandaged around the ankle.
"What the hell happened ?" Mira cried out.
Andriana chuckled still happy to see her friend. She noticed Karlye glaring at Mira and quietly pulled away.
She had noticed he didn't like anyone touching her if it wasn't him. Even when the doctor or maids came to help her he always got in a bad mood.
"May I speak to her alone ?" She requested.
He nodded but seemed hesitant to leave.
The moment the door closed Mira turned to her friend.
"Tell me, did he do this to you? If he did, we would leave right now. I can't see you in another abusive relationship"
Andriana chuckled.
"No it wasn't him, he was in fact the one who rescued me ".
"Do you know those bastards who did this to you? What did they want ?" She asked.
Since she knew it was about Karlye, Andriana decided not to explain further, for Mira would want to know more.
"Don't worry, they won't bother me again ", she assured.
Mira sighed.
"Is he really good to you , saw him feeding you earlier when I walked in ".
Andriana nodded.
"He is, I guess I judged him too early ".
Mira chuckled, "So he isn't a crazy stalker or kidnapper now"
Andriana giggled.
"No he isn't, I was wrong ".
Karlye could hear the giggles from the room and smiled.
David was right , having called Mira over was the right choice.
He left heading to his office.
David was waiting for him.
"I guess her guest is here ", he said, seeing Karlye walk in.
"Mmm, she sounds happy " he said.
"I told you it would work. She had been indoors for days; she would have been bored only seeing your cold face " David chuckled.
"Has father arrived yet ?" he asked.
"He will be arriving tomorrow night. And he said if you're missing out on dinner then pick him up "
Karlye frowned," Tell him I can't see or pick him up. I will be unavailable for the next few days "
"You know I can't convince your father when he's made up his mind ", said David.
"David, I can't, and I won't leave her side until she is fully better ", he stated.
David sighed.
"I will see what I can do ".
Karlye gave him a nod.
As they left his study they bumped into Mira leaving.
"I will be leaving now, Mr Lockhart ", she said.
He nodded.
"Can I pick her up tomorrow morning? We have somewhere to be ", she said.
He frowned and looked back at her.
"Tomorrow is her mother's death anniversary, and it's when she goes to see her sister in the hospital too," she explained.
He remembered Andriana saying she had somewhere to be that weekend.
He nodded walking away.
Mira glanced at David, then walked off, ignoring him.
David sighed running after her
