Around Becky there was a whole gang composed of around twenty members, each one armed with either a machete, knives, or guns.
Becky was tied up in a chair, she didn't seem very faced by the whole situation and was just looking straight into the guy who was screaming at her.
"Look, you punk. I've kept you alive all this time for you to tell me where is it, but if I have to I'll kill you and pay your dear doctor a visit, how about that?"
"I already told you, it isn't anywhere in the outside" The guys seemed frustrated and furious.
"Hey, you, bring the lies detector"
"Again?"
"Yes, again, hurry up!"
They brought a guy who put his hand in Becky's head and she repeated the same.
"Again, she's telling the truth"
The guy that seemed to be the leader grabbed his head and shouted in rage "How?! How are you telling the truth?! It has to be a unique ability I've never seen before!"
The guy pulled a gun and aimed at her "Whatever! I'll ask the gramps then!"
*BANG*
A gunshot resounded all over the room, but it was not Becky's body that fell to the floor. Instead, the leader's did.
The gang all turned around at the same time and saw Arthur and Jenny coming out of their hideout.
"I think that's more than enough"
Becky's eyes lighted up a little when she saw Arthur's figure and smiled "Arthur..."
"Hey Becky, long time no see"
They all charged against them with all sort of abilities. Jenny blasted some of them with fire and Arthur just danced through them, eliminating them one after one.
He slowed down time and rapidly shot a series of bullets that impacted on the gang members when time came back to normal.
Jenny covered her punches on fire and by sheer brute force sent them flying, some even fell out of a window.
Quickly, the fight was over and they approached Becky, untying her.
"Are you..." He couldn't finish his sentence, since Becky jumped to his arms and started crying.
"I was...so scared" Arthur just patted her in the back and let her cry to her heart's content. Jenny just observed the scene awkwardly and scratched the back of her head.
Eventually, Becky stopped crying and embarrased, went back a couple steps, almost tripping.
"Thank you for coming to save me Arthur and...what's your name?"
"Just call me Jenny" Becky smiled and nodded with her head "then, thank you Arthur and Jenny"
"No need to thank us, we owed Barns a little favor"
"Still, I need to thank you both properly. Is there something I can do for you?" Arthur was about to deny again but Jenny butted in first.
"Then, tell us what were those punks searching for that they were so desperate?" Becky's expression turned more serious and looked around.
"I'll tell you, but this can't be heard by anybody. Let's head to Barns's house, it'll be safer there" They both agreed and headed back to his home. When Barns saw Becky his expression lit up and went to hug her.
"Oh, thank god you're fine, I was so worried about you..."
"I'm fine now, thanks to Arthur and Jenny here. You don't have to worry anymore, brother"
Jenny was confused "Wait, brother?" Arthur responded a moment later "Yes, Becky is Barns's little sister. They both have the same healing power and work together on his clinic"
After Barns and Becky ended their meeting a few minutes later, they all sat around a table and ate some food.
"So, can you tell us what was that about?" Jenny rested her head against her palm and Arthur leaned back on his chair.
"Those bandits kidnapped me because we invented a very special device, and they somehow knew I had to transport it to the airport because of a deal we made with an overseas client in Europe"
"Wait, so you did have that invention?"
"Well, yeah. Of course"
Jenny appeared puzzled "But the lie detector power? How did you...?" Now Becky seemed to understand "Oh, you mean that guy? It's simple really, I just didn't tell a single lie"
"Huh?"
"I told them: 'It isn't anywhere in the outside' and that's true, it's nowhere in the outside"
Arthur tilted his head "Then where is it?" Becky smiled and put her hands on her belly "I ate it"
Now even Barns was shocked and they all looked at her in disbelief "You what?!" Arthur raised an eyebrow and asked, concerned.
"So, what is this thing exactly and how bad is it that she ate it?" Barns let out a long sigh and put his hand against his forehead.
"It's a device unique on the world as we know, but it's very dangerous since it can have dangerous side effects and could potentially kill the person using it. The moment Becky ate that thing, like it's programmed to do, it attached itself to her heart. She is basically a healing monster now, but if we don't find a way to detach it in approximately...six months, it could get pretty bad"
"Great, so what do we do now?" Jenny was concerned about Becky, they had known eachother for little time, but Becky seemed like a nice person, a rare ocurrence on this town, so Jenny wanted to save her.
"Can't you detach it yourself, Barns?"Arthur asked, crossing his arms, Barns shook his head in dissapointment on himself.
"Unfortunately, no. My quirurgic abilities are not great and it could endanger Becky's live. Sorry, Becky, I'm such a useless older brother..."
"Don't be so hard on yourself, brother. An ordinary doctor could not extract the device, but we know someone that might be able to"
Barns eyes went wide open and a smile struck his face "That's right! There's still hope!"
Jenny tilted her head, curious "Who is this someone?"
"The client on Europe, he's supposedly the best doctor in the world. If anyone can do it, it's him"
