Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: The Chain of Blood and the Cup of Thirst

Chapter 34: The Chain of Blood and the Cup of Thirst

The Red Chain and the Sucking of Life

The chain Morgana created between Diari and Rina was not just a tool to tie them; it was like a living vein. The chain began to vibrate, and gradually its color became brighter. That chain was sucking the blood and soul of both. Rina felt her body was drying up, and Diari's color became white as the dead. Rina said in her heart with a heavy heart, "I will never give up on my life. We have the Great God. We must be determined." Morgana said arrogantly, "The thirstier this chain gets, the weaker you become. There is only one way to stop it: one of you must sacrifice the other."

Liva's Terrifying Game

Liva, as always wanting to prove himself, brought a cup of cold water. In the heat of the magic and black mist, Rina and Diari's thirst reached its peak. Liva placed the cup in the middle and said with a demonic laugh, "You are so stupid. You won't sacrifice each other? Truly foolish! Diari, see what Rina said to you? Hahaha! You are so dumb! You never learn. You're just a dizzy fool. That monster Rina will take you to the water and not let you drink!" Diari said with a raspy voice, "Stop it. I love her more than my life. Your dreams are empty; I won't leave her, even if she leaves me." Rina raised her head, looked into Diari's eyes, and smiled.

A Matchless Sacrifice

Rina looked at Diari's dry lips, which were bleeding. In her heart, she said, "Diari, kill me and drink; I don't want to see you like this." But Diari, who could barely speak, signaled Rina with his eyes and pushed the dagger away with his foot. Diari said, "Liva... you are so stupid. I am ready to drink my own blood, but I won't give Rina a single small wound. Keep your water for yourself and the dogs of this forest." A warm tear fell from Rina's eye. Her father, hearing Diari's voice, smiled slightly despite his pain.

End of the Chapter: An Oath in the Darkness

Morgana continued to intensify the magic of the red chain. Rina felt Diari's body shaking beside her. Rina swore in her heart, "For every second of this thirst, I will spill a sea of your blood." The chain became tighter, forcing Rina and Diari together, but instead of pain, this gave them strength, for now they had one heartbeat. Liva looked at them with hatred, knowing his pride as a hunter was broken before their resilience.
