Chapter 1 - Prologue

The bright lights...

The cheers of the adoring fans that reverberate though one's ears...

The feeling of being on top of the world...

The world of entertainment is truly a magical dream and one that few ever get to be a part of. It's a place that only those who have been given a distinct "gift" find themselves. It's a wondrous land that people all over the world find themselves longing to be a part of at a young age and even into adulthood for some

And yet, many people fall short of this wonderland. Only those who have been chosen by God Himself the talents and sheer luck to see this place with their own two eyes. It was a place that a simple everyday man would never experience...

That same man looked at his old television, trash surrounding the room of his small apartment he had lived in for a couple of years. Tired eyes lay barely open on his face as long and messy fell from his head. The middle aged man found that his clothes were torn and dirty. He was so poor that all he had to eat was that of a small cup of ramen every couple of days. He was living in an eternal hellscape, one that would stay with him is entire life...

He wasn't given the same privileges as the people who had been around him his life. The man had watched countless people become that of police officers, politicians, and some even famous actors.

But that wasn't the case for someone like him.

Clicking in tongue in annoyance, the man spoke aloud to himself. "This guy is so annoying...." He had been quietly listening to the reporter on the screen in front of him. It was the same thing he did every day after he got home from work.

"And for today's news, the actress by the name of Lina has chosen to take off time from acting so as to give birth to her coming twins. The actress came out saying she was pregnant a few months back and her as well as her husband are excited for the coming birth." the reporter stated.

The man gritted his teeth as he started to swear under his breath. "These damn fools... They don't know just how good they have it." He tried to take a bite of some of his ramen, but found that the cup had already become bone dry. "Guess that's that..."

Standing up and stretching his arms, the man walked a couple of feet and grabbed the almost empty bottle of wine that was close to his now empty cup of noddles. He narrowed his tired eyes and took a swig of the last of the alcohol. His life had been a mess for a while now, for as long as the man could remember actually.

After that, he dropped the bottle onto the ground and watched as it rolled along the floor. Wiped his lips, he turned and started walk toward his door and out into the world that lay just outside his apartment.

He gritted his teeth, grunting as he walked."I need to grab some food from the convenience store for the week." The man was short on things to eat which meant that he needed to run down to that store to pick up items that would keep him alive. "Such a hellish cycle... I'm so tired."

This was the common experience for people such as him. He was a simple office worker who barely managed to make enough money just to get buy each day. The man didn't exactly have any special talents that he could speak of.

He wasn't athletic nor did he have the IQ of some of his former "friends" from school days. The man was simply ordinary and there wasn't any sort of thing he could do to change that.

Slowly, he ran his dried hands through his messy hair."If only I had some sort of special talent that made me different from the average person. Something that would make me someone better than this..." He narrowed his tired eyes, hands in his pockets."The ability to sing better than anyone else... Great acting talent would be nice... Athleticism..."

Yet no matter how badly he may have wanted these things, they would not come to him. He couldn't change the skill set that he had been born with. He couldn't change his genetics and he certainly didn't have the time to work at any of it.

Now, the man could feel tears start to run down his face. He was alone, weak, and had nothing going for him in this wretched world. "Damn it... What did I do to deserve such a fate as this?" No matter how many times he may have asked that question, there was no answer that he could grab.

After a couple of moments, the man sighed in defeat.

There wasn't really a point in complaining at a time like this. He continued to walk from his apartment room to the stairs that led down to the ground floor. He needed to finish this little trip of his fast so that he could get some rest before another day of work.

Yet, there was something that didn't feel quite right.

Strangely, his head began to feel heavy. There was a sudden sickness that overtook his body, making the man feel a bit wobbly. His body rocked from side to side as he walked, unsteady.

"Crap... Has sleep loss gotten to me?" he asked himself.

The man grabbed his head, gritting his teeth as he tried to keep moving. He just needed to get to the continence store quickly and then he could come back home and sleep the headache off. He just needed to keep moving for a couple more moments and then he would be just fine.

He narrowed his eyes. "No... It's getting dark." His body started to give in to the sleep as he tipped over while just arriving at the stairs. "This isn't good."

In just a matter of a few moments, the man could feel the last of his strength give out. As he began to fall, onto those stairs, the darkness overtook him and in just a second or two he was completely at a loss of consciousness.

His body fell to the bottom of those stairs, and he died.

"What's going on? Where am I?"

He opened his eyes, trying to figure out what had happened to himself. There was what looked to be a bright light that came into view while he processed his surroundings. It looked like he was in a small room, one that was surely much nicer than the trash filled apartment he was living in.

Just where in the world even was this? After everything had gone dark for him while on that stairwell, the man found that he didn't remember anything. It was as if he had been moved while he was unconscious.

Wait... Was this a hospital?!

From what he could tell, the many surroundings that were now around him looked to be that of hospital equipment. Had he been hospitalized after the fall he had taken? The man knew that there was no way on this planet that he had enough money to pay for a hospital bill at the moment!

"It looks like your babies are finally waking up, ma'am!" a woman's voice suddenly called. The male looked over and saw a nurse standing under the doorway a few feet away from him.

"Who is she talking to? I'm confused... Should I ask?" He tried to open his mouth and speak, but for some reason his body wouldn't obey him. "This is so weird... What's happening."

"Thank you for your help!" another voice said to the nurse. The male looked up and saw another new face above him. She was beautiful, long blond hair flowing down from her head. A bright smile was seen on her face.

"And a beauty of a face it is!" the male thought to himself. "I feel like I've seen her somewhere before... And just why the heck is she so tall?!" The girl towered over him and made the male feel a little intimidated. "I'm six feet tall! Just how tall would she be then?! Eight feet?!"

"So, did my husband call? Is he coming to see the kids?" the woman asked the nurse.

The nurse nodded in reply. "The doctor just got off the phone with him and it seems that he should be here in a little under half an hour."

"Thank you! I can't wait for him to meet our children!" the woman exclaimed in excitement. She looked down at the man and smiled. "I think that Mercury here takes after his father... So cute!"

The male blinked as she heard the woman's comment. "Hold up... DID THIS GIRL REALLY JUST CALL ME CUTE?! I WILL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I AM IN MY MID THIRTIES!" And something else was strange about what she had said. "Did she just say father? Hold up..."

Something was most definitely wrong here...

Something major!

He looked around for a mirror and saw one a few feet off from him. Sure enough, he was right. Of course this whole mess would just have to befall someone like him.

Something was most definitely wrong!

In the mirror, he could see not one but two figures staring back. The woman reflected smile as the two of them looked over at the glass panel just a few feet away.

And then, the baby who stood back…

"Houston, we have a problem!"

The woman above the male laughed and signaled for the nurse to come over. "If it's alright, could you keeping holding Celine for a moment?"

The nurse nodded and so the woman handed over a small female baby to her. Then she stood up and walked over to the mirror.

"Welcome to the earth, my beautiful children!"
