*****************************************************************************

"Once, one wrote a story about a vampire, a mighty and majestic vampire, colder that the dark night and who loved drinking blood. His unreachable immortality was appalling and envied by humans. Born in a lineage of royalty, and despite his power, he was unknown by his own people and lived far away from all beings. He crossed time and countless eras without any damage, witnessing the birth and evolution of humanity. With a timeless beauty that remained as fascinated and unbreakable, he painted with his own existence the myths of world.

And one day, this magnificent creature, who could not understand light, fell in love and still, with the race he ate and despised the most, human.

Through their unbelievable story, he revealed her what was he, so without a blink, she sat up straight to ask him what he was afraid the most she'd do.

 - Vivo, makes me immortal, and you will no longer have to be alone in your life of eternity.

But the lonely immortal shook slowly his head, smiling tenderly.

 - You are so human, and like all your fellows, you are fierce, living, and so whole. That's why I envied your race more than anything. And unlike me, you ignore the burden of time. Seeing the people you affectionate as much die, no longer be able eating anything but blood, and existing timelessly in this world filled with endless suffering with nowhere to go except darkness. I want to spare anyone, mostly you such destiny.

 - But you also ignore the suffering of those who love people infinitely but are unable to save them like me now, because they are only humans.

 She caressed his face.

 - Vivo, you don't get it yourself, but the expression you wear every time is so hurtful, so hurtful that the people who loved you preferred to die, just to escape this view.

That's how I used to think too before you revealed me the truth. She kissed his eyes. How sad Vivo to see you so mighty but alone, powerless you always saw your precious persons die before you, leaving you behind with an irreparable broken heart. But,... the time has come that a person will cross this line that no one had dared to, for reaching immortality and break your loneliness forever.

- And it's you?

- Yes, Me. So I beg you, do not be afraid of disappointing me or breaking me, by the way we'd have

time for us to live on this and to be healed from.

 - You're really too stupid. Too ignorant and too...

He stopped his sentence, only making vague gesture with his white hands.

 - I know Vivo, but no one can stop people's desire by simple words, not even you. And, I want you to always remember that. I chose this Vivo, each moment, now and ever.

 - You will never see the light of day again. I am someone unable to get the marvel of this thing you humans are so fond for, but I am enough aware of the fact that you will miss it more than you'd ever imagine.

And me, I will never have the knowledge to comfort you about this pain.

 - I am perfectly conscious of that. We know the reality, but I am already settle down about all those things I will lose forever, and the pain it will gave me that would last. However, I will get what I desire the most, so I am sure that I'd be satisfied more than enough already. I will never regret this choice.

Vivo hid his face in her silky hair, as golden as the light in dusk.

- Please don't desire it Darlia. I beg you.

- I am sorry my love, I can't help myself, for I desire it.

- No

- And I can bring you so much, I can give you baby, I can give you the warm of a family, I can love you for centenaries, I can give you everything except what you yearn more than anything, this wonderful mortality, and I never can. Then Vivo, in order for me to compensate to you this unreachable dream, I'll join you in the bottomless darkness where you're forever locked in, and I will love you so, that at the end you will forget this part of the life.

He closed his eyes and smiled, then he took her in his hands, holding her so tightly.

 - Then so be it, I'll give you the weight of eternity. Be sure to stand all.

 - Yes Vivo, I will.

 - I love you Darlia.

Slowly, he removed her clothes, and slowly he kissed all her body all over until each point of it became unbearably warm. And soon, he reached her intimate parts, his tongue entered in and prepared it before something even more amazing went in.

But this time, it was entirely different, as he also penetrated into her the breath of immortality. He messed her up down until her body stopped to be mortal.

And he pierced her neck with his teeth and drank her blood, her mortality, her humanity, after few minutes, as they saw it until the end, her right of light have faded away forever from her.

Their story begun, sadness, tears, rage, hunger, smiles, passion, tenderness, betrayal, all things build their lives, such fantastic love story, a story made of feelings. But as all stories that had a beginning, there had also obligatory an end, even if the characters were immortals, even if they were lovers who were living far away from sun. Even if their wish was made to be the reflection of their unstoppable heart.

One day, while they were crossing the centuries wrapped in their madness love, Darlia met a young human, she got to know him and in the end, she fell in love with him. She went to love him so, that she broke off and wanted to die.

Vivo could not stand it anymore so he asked her the fateful question, and she sincerely answered.

 - I love you both. Forgive me Vivo but I love you both.

 - Then which do you choose, for you couldn't have both. Only one of us you can get.

 - But what it would be need to know which I love more Vivo, whereas I am immortal and he is not, when the time comes for him to go on, then I will come back to you again and we will continue to live timelessly in our beauty, in our endless story of love.

 - I know.

Vivo took her in his arms and made love to her, tirelessly, indefinitely, as if tomorrow would never come, as if he wanted to drink her for a lifetime, as if he was mortal.

 - I love you Darlia. I love you.

 - Vivo I also, I love you, I love for eternity.

 - Yeah I know, so I will always hope for you ... to be happy

And he reconverted her into a human. She lost all of her memory about him and to compensate for this magic he used for her, he has to build his own house, a world, where he should be locked off for an indefinite time, maybe centuries, until the punishment would be sufficient to delete his wrongness."

His faithful butler went in with him. He helped him built the palace and insisted to achieve it himself to make it as sublime as the image of his master through his heart.

- Thank you dear butler, said Vivo humbly. You threw away everything, even this priceless freedom, to come with me there and sharing my huge imprisonment.

- It's normal for me to do so. Besides, maybe you see me as a simple person staying by your side and serving you as perfectly as I promised to you long time ago, but, know that for me, master is the most important person and I only have you.

The master laughed at the confession. He was touched so he let his sadness come up.

- I know her so much, indeed, and Vivo rectified his sentence, I knew her. The moment I saw her with him and saw the beautiful gleam into her eyes, I was aware of the end.

 He laughed.

- The change of heart of a person is frightening. But no one has the power to prevent it, even an immortal, for my greatest misfortune. So I let her go, as I ...

- You loved her too much, and wished nothing ever for her but happiness. The moment you saw her and fell in love with her, you granted all her desire, how selfish they could have been, until she forgot you by loving another one, everything was dedicated to her. Because it was for her, because it was love, and everyone know the truth.

The butler laughed tenderly.

- The truth is that, you wanted her to stay, you wanted her to stop loving him, and to forgive you for not being human. But sorry for you, as you said you knew her too well, and you knew her for being too human, even being externally vampire, and she remained like so until the end.

- I am really too obvious at your sight dear friend, he looked at his butler with a smile before turning his gaze to the far outside.

- You are so right! How I turned her to an immortal and made her drink blood until she forgot the taste of all human food, how I soaked her by night and kept her strongly away from sun that she forgot it and its wonders, and how much I loved her and dove her into a timeless life, I've never once been able to change her heart, not even a slightest part of it. A heart that forever is human. And I was fully conscious of the case, but still, for wanting her like I did, I torn apart my own heart, and lived this love. And also, she let me have her all the time she could bear my inhuman nature.

- Yeah.

- She never once stopped to be human, and she loved him more than me, she loved him humanly, she loved him endlessly. I was able to turn her physically back into human, and she knew that it will only give her a year to live, she accepted it passionately like she...more than when she accepted to be my immortal. And leaving me definitely, she gave out her last words as her farewell. Then slowly, her memory and immortality died out.

- Vivo, thank you for loving me like you did. As much that you who wished for mortality, always, but could not get it, I wished for this year, the last of my life, even if it means forgetting you and dying, just to be with him.

As the last thing I wanted to see in this life is him. So I will always hope that you too who gave me all worlds and whom I so loved for so long, you will find that kind of love too and I pray that one day your loneliness be finally quench."

I closed the ancient book, and let my tears flowing. The tears fell and crashed down on the beautiful cover. This was a book I inherited from my grandmother after she passed away. She wished so much for me to have it as her only granddaughter.

I sighed and closed my eyes before turning into the window to see vaguely what was outside. And there was nothing but sky and clouds. A world of blue and white, my two favorite colors.
