Aria perked up at the sound coming from ahead of her. Its must be close. She walked closer to the noise with a hint of fear etched on her face.
Past the reach of Aria's light, two golden eyes opened and shone through the darkness. Aria couldn't see what the eyes belonged to but she could tell it was big.
The eyes started to get closer and thuds echoed from the footsteps of the beast. Slowly its head came into view, a large snout and a wide furry face came into view. Rounded ears sat at the top of its head and its fur was the colour of amber. It walked on all fours and it was just a little larger than a family size SUV.

- D-rank Boss Monster, Amber Ursa
- A large bear type monster with a light brown coat that looks like amber, and claws made of a crystalline type of material that is very hard. Its hide is very tough and its golden eyes allow it to see perfectly in the dark.
- Weakeness: While it is a strong monster, it still has the same biology as a regular bear. Injure it enough, and it will die all the same. Just avoid its claws and sharp teeth.
Aria felt a little relieved at the description, just a stronger version of a bear then.
Aria summoned her Star Piercer in her right hand which took almost a third of her remaining AP. Better make this count, she thought while she gripped her star piercer.
Aria stood still not moving from her spot, as the Amber Ursa came within 10 feet of her. Getting up on its hind legs, the bear roared with a volume than could rupture eardrums. Aria's sensitive ears were causing her grief as the sound bounced all around the cave which only made it worse. The ringing in her ears slowly went away as the bear just stood in the same place looking upon Aria with it's piercing golden eyes. Aria looked at the bear with annoyance, "Cocky bugger."
As though the bear could understand her, it lashed towards Aria with ferocious abandon. A massive paw swiped at Aria's head, it's claws glistening in the rays coming off of Aria's light orb. With not much space to maneuver in the cave, Aria ducked under the incoming paw. Once the paw passed over her, she moved into the space right in front of the bear.
The massive bear brought it's front paws down overtop of Aria. She rolled to the side of the bear, just before its paws impacted the ground. The ground trembled from the sheer strength of the Amber Ursa. Getting up from her dodge, Aria tried to throw the star piercer at the monster. She didn't have enough time to execute, as the bear quickly swiped at her once again. She jumped back in response.
As she did, the claws of the bear grew longer and caught the cloth of Aria's shirt, tearing the skin on her stomach in the process.

Aria faltered as blood poured from her wound, she gasped in pain. Dammit, I was careless!
Aria's pain resistance kicked in and the pain of her wound lessened. The Amber Ursa sat back on its hind legs, and a sound like a scoff erupted from it's mouth. Using the distraction of the bear, Aria closed the distance between herself and the bear.
Aria took her Star Piercer and like it was a sword, she stabbed it into the chest of the beast. The bear backed up as the light spear stuck out of its body, in a desperate attempt it tried to claw the spear out. Unable to dislodge it, the light of it's golden eyes began to dim and it's large body toppled to the ground.
Aria stood before the deceased bear, her breath was haggard. "I have made...a few mistakes today."
Aria caught her breath before examining her wounds. She had lost a large amount of blood from her various injuries. She had been saving her AP up till this point and didn't have much to spare on healing. She slowly walked forward through the caves as she searched for the portal crystal. "Let's go home."
After a few minutes of searching, Aria found the crystal behind a few large stones laying in the cave. Activating her Celestial Cloak, she stomped onto the crystal and teleported to the entrance as the portal closed. She arrived to a scene of confusion, many people in suits and few people with armour looked towards the space where the portal once stood.
I need to get out of here, Aria hurried outside the building and passed a few FBA agents on the way. A few higher level awakened present were able to sense a disturbance but were more distracted by the disappearance of the portal. As Aria was making her escape, she got an red notification from her system.

Once she read the notification, her skill had already stopped and her body came into view. Oh come on!
Her hair and clothes were disheveled, blood on various parts of her body. She was still too close to the FBA agents and they were already on alert. Aria bolted away, running as fast as her stats would allow. The wind whistled in her ear, and her heart pounded.
Back at the restaurant where the portal once stood, an FBA agent was standing outside and couldn't believe what he just saw. A person appeared out of thin air and suddenly dashed away at a terrifying speed. Another agent approached the man, "Sir we are unsure how, but the portal dissappeared and was possibly cleared. We saw nothing and sent no agents inside though."
The man who had just arrived, started to piece together what he perhaps just saw. "That person I witnessed running, looked to be injured and they also seemed to be awakened based on their speed. Open a file for this case and be on the lookout for an awakened with an invisibility skill. We have a rogue."
The man looked around before continuing, "Also look for occurrences of portals being cleared unexpectedly. Gather as much info as possible." The young man gave orders to the other agents present before he looked to the direction of where the mysterious awakened went. Was it just me, or did that person seem familiar?
