Aria was astonished by the recent growth she experienced. She felt like she could take on a D-rank without any problem now.
....
The next day, Aria was leaving campus to do some errands. It was the weekend and she had no classes, so she was taking advantage of the free time.
As she was walking towards the closest supermarket, she observed the bustling city around her. People walking all over, vehicles passing every second, it was a lot to take in. Aria thought she would maybe find a nice quiet spot in a park later on.
Aria entered the local market, gathering some fresh produce and snacks to last for the next week. After paying and putting the items in her backpack, she looked up the closest park on her phone. Following the phone GPS, she finally found it within 10 minutes of walking.
Locating an empty bench in a quiet area, she put in her ear buds and listened to a classical symphony.
*Ding* After sitting a while with her eyes closed, she heard a system notification.

Aria was suddenly alert, she looked around for where the portal could be located. Soon she spoted it in the distance between a few bushes and a large tree.

Aria looked at the new quest with concern, was she ready? Physically she was fairly strong, but she had never faced monsters before. Nearby she could see children playing and people walking their dogs, even the odd jogger. What would happen to all these people if the portal broke open?
Reflecting on one of her classes, Aria knew blue portals were weaker but as a result, they opened much quicker.
Aria had made her decision, she was going in. Running to where the portal was, she placed her backpack in a nearby bush, and pulled her hoodie over her head in case someone was nearby. Walking to the portal, she took a breath before stepping through.
On the other side, It was very dark with no light sources around. Aria activated her light manipulation skill and made a sphere in her hand. Lighting up the room, she could see it was like a castle dungeon. She stood in a long wide hallway with dark stone walls on each side. Not a single window or opening to be seen. Footsteps echoed throughout the corridor as she proceeded with caution.
Eventually she came across a doorway, leading to a much larger room. If I remember anything from Ben's game, it's that there is going to be monsters in there. Aria held her breath as she stepped through the doorway.
Expecting to be attacked, she was on high alert. After a few seconds of nothing happening, the tension in her shoulders loosened. Walking a little further in, she heard what sounded like like stones grinding against themselves.
*Boom, Boom, Boom*
Suddenly three objects fell to the ground from the ceiling. Three large creatures made of stone were now surrounding Aria in the center on the room. They had bat like wings on their backs and hideous faces, with fangs protruding from their upper and lower teeth. Their beady red eyes were fixed on the girl surrounded by light. Gargoyles hated the light, Aria had disturbed their slumber.
Panic set in, Aria froze with fear. Many called her brave, but even she could be shaken. What do I do?!?! Eyeing a gap between two of the Gargoyles, she lunged between it. The gargoyle on the left swiped its claws, nicking her ankle in the process.

She made it out of the kill circle, but she needed to do something about their number. She ran back into the hallway she came from. Thankfully she was slightly faster than the gargoyles trailing behind her.
She ran for a while gaining a small lead. While running she activated her brand new skill.

In the opposite hand of her source of light, another light formed. Quickly it lengthened into a pole of light within her grasp, vibrating with energy. With a quick maneuver, she turned around and threw the spear of light with all of her might.
The three gargoyles running behind her, couldn't fit side by side in the hallway and so they were lined perfectly like ducks in a row. The star piercer soared through the air, puncturing a hole straight through the center of all three gargoyles. All three proceeded to crumble apart, shattering from the impact.
Aria panted while staring at the remnants of her attackers, hearing familiar a ding from her system.

Feeling the danger had passed for the moment, Aria dropped to the ground. She needed to tend to her wound which was bleeding heavily.
"This is the perfect time to test out that healing skill it seems," she said bringing up the skills description.

uses the Celestial bloodline to heal injuries on self or others using (AP). While skill is active user will eminate a golden glow. Heals 10 HP per second which will increase as skill levels up]
She activated the skill placing her hand on her ankle. Within 2 seconds the wound closed up, stitching back together.

Aria had just over half of her AP remaining, she worried if it would be enough to end this.
"Next up is likely the boss, so let's do this," she was resolute as she continued back down the hall.
