"Oh, them? They are all my followers. You can probably tell by their hair color that these two are Lord Martin's son and daughter, Kaladi and Vivian. This is Marty, formerly a thief, but now I have subdued him." Jason introduced to Kelida."Oh, so you're the Irving siblings, a handsome man and a beautiful woman indeed, especially this little sister, she's so adorable!"
Kellyda said, walking up to Vivian, staring intently at Vivian's face and the bare, snow-white thighs beneath her skirt, giving her a thorough look that made Vivian feel disgusted.
"Thank you for your praise, Lord Kellyda!"
Caladi deliberately stepped in front of Kellyda, blocking his view of Vivian, and respectfully addressed Kellyda.
Kellyda completely ignored Caladi and walked directly to Jason. He whispered in his ear, "This Owen family girl is really hot, cousin, you're in luck!"
"Cousin, you can't talk nonsense. She's just my follower. I have no ulterior motives towards her, and I don't want anyone else to either!"
Jason said to Kelida with a smile that hid a dagger.
"Alright, maybe you don't now. Someone, arrange a room for my cousin and his followers so they can rest well. You must be tired from your journey, right?"
Kelida said to Jason."Thanks, cousin. We were actually exhausted a long time ago, and we desperately need a good rest." With that, Jason led the Owen siblings and Marty away.
After Jason and the others left, Kelida opened the letter of appointment Jason had given him, looked at it, and then tossed it aside with a disdainful expression.
"Ever since that near-death experience, it's like that kid has become a different person, much smarter!" Kelida remarked.
"Yes, the way he speaks, he seems very composed. It seems he won't be easy to deal with!" Kelida's attendant echoed."Hmph, I won't let him be arrogant for much longer!" Kelida said silently, clenching his fist.
Soon, the servants in the castle had arranged accommodations for Jason and the others. Jason and his companions were in Jason's room, leisurely enjoying afternoon tea.
"Hmph! That young master's cousin's eyes are really annoying!"
Vivian said angrily.
"Vivian! That's Lord Kelida, you need to be more respectful," Caladi scolded Vivian."It's nothing, it's nothing. That guy is our enemy now, the first boss we need to defeat. It's just that we can't simply use force to defeat him."
Jason took a sip of tea and said.
"What does the young master mean by this?"
Kaladi asked Jason.
"Do you think I came to Sagus just to help him govern Sagus? This town should have belonged to me, I should have been the lord of this town. Unfortunately, I was too useless back then, so my father gave it to Kelida. Now it's good, I'm back, and naturally I want to take it back."Jason explained his purpose to everyone.
"The life of a noble is truly complicated!"
Marty shook his head and said, then took a large gulp of the tea in his cup, the bitterness making it almost impossible to swallow.
He swallowed the mouthful of tea with a pained expression, grimacing as he said to Jason, "Young Master, how can you guys like this stuff? Drinking is so much better!"
"Haha!" Everyone couldn't help but laugh at Marty's contorted expression."Tea makes you more and more awake the more you drink it, while alcohol only makes you more and more confused. We've just arrived in Sargos, and we need to stay clear-headed because I don't think my cousin will be honest. He'll definitely try to find ways to get rid of me," Jason said to the group.
"Young Master, please rest assured. Anyone who tries to harm you, I will cut them into eight pieces with my scimitar!" Mati said, brandishing his scimitar.
Jason and the others looked at Mati's scimitar and couldn't help but laugh.
"What are you laughing at?" Mati asked, puzzled.
"Look at your knife!""That notched blade, there must be nine or ten notches on it! It would probably be difficult to kill even a chicken with it, let alone a person!"
Vivian said, laughing and pointing at Matty's notched scimitar.
"Uh... this..."
Matty looked at the scimitar in his hand.
There were indeed too many notches left from the fight with Kaladi, making the blade look completely useless.
"Speaking of which, your scimitar looks so cheap. What material is it made of?"
Kaladi asked Matty."Someone as poor as me can't compare to you nobles. I can't afford good steel. This was made by melting down some farmers' tools. It's normal that it can't stand up to your good sword!" Marty lamented.
"Alright, we have nothing better to do anyway, and I've been wanting to get a weapon for myself. Let's go, we'll go to the weapon shops in town together and find you a decent weapon to use too."
Jason said to Marty.
"Okay, then I'll thank you in advance, young master!"
Marty was very happy to hear Jason's words and casually threw away his piece of junk metal. The group left the castle and soon arrived at a weapons shop.
The owner of the weapons shop could tell from Jason and his companions' attire that they were no ordinary people, so he greeted them warmly.
"Welcome, esteemed guests, what are you looking for?" the owner said politely to Jason and his group.
"I'd like to find some good weapons for my followers and myself," Jason said to the owner.
"I see, please come this way, sir. I have only the finest goods here, feel free to browse!"The boss brought Jason and the others to a place filled with a dazzling array of weapons of all kinds: knives, spears, swords, halberds, axes, yokes, and tridents – everything you could imagine.
"All the weapons here are made from top-quality steel, absolutely the best," the boss introduced to Jason and his group.
"Marty, take a look and see which one you like. Pick one. And Vivian, you pick one too!" Jason said to everyone.
Marty and Vivian were delighted to hear Jason's words and nodded happily, eagerly starting to choose their weapons.
Marty quickly found the weapon he liked: a one-handed, double-bladed axe.Marty cradled the axe in his hands, feeling its weight and examining its craftsmanship, he couldn't have been more pleased.
Vivian also chose a pair of short daggers, the small and exquisite daggers were quite suitable for Vivian.
Jason searched for a long time without finding anything he particularly liked until he saw a sword with a hilt crafted like a running lion, which caught his attention, and he chose that sword without hesitation.
"Sir, I can't sell you this!"
