Chapter 17 - First Arrival in Saggos

"Young Master, what exactly is going on here?" the patrol leader asked Jason.

"This guy is a bandit who tried to rob the Young Master, and then he was defeated by my brother!" Vivian walked over and said.

"Clearly, I deserve some credit too! Okay?" Jason reminded Vivian."So that's what happened. My apologies for startling you, young master! Men, tie up this thief and take him back to Sagus. Lock him up and await the young master's judgment!"

The patrol leader said to those behind him.

"Hold on a moment!"

Jason stopped the patrolmen, then signaled Kaladi to remove the sword from Marti's neck, allowing Marti to get up from the ground.

"You're quite skilled. It's a shame to be a thief. How about it? Would you consider becoming my follower? As long as you loyally serve me, I can guarantee you'll live more comfortably than you do now!"

Jason extended an olive branch to Marti."The winner takes all, the loser is condemned! I don't want to spend my life rotting in prison, I'm willing to be your follower!"

Marty said to Jason, kneeling on the ground as he spoke.

"Good, trust me and follow me, it will definitely be the best choice you've ever made, get up!"

Jason said to Marty, very satisfied. Jason knew that his cousin had always wanted to get rid of him, and who knows what kind of trouble he might cause him on this trip to Saggos.

So Jason still wanted to find more people to protect himself. It just so happened that Marty was quite skilled, and he could take this opportunity to find himself another bodyguard. Jason was very satisfied."Young master, he's a thief! You're just asking for trouble!" Karadi said to Jason.

"When you trust someone, trust them completely. Don't worry. Besides, have you forgotten how I recruited you? You even tried to kill me! But things are pretty good now, aren't they?" Jason said to Karadi.

"Yes, as you command, young master!"

Seeing that his persuasion was useless, Karadi stopped wasting his breath and let Jason take Marty under his wing.Jason and the others had a quick bite to eat here before continuing on to Saggos under the escort of the patrol.

At dusk, a large town appeared before Jason and his companions.

The town's thick walls gave it an air of dignity, and atop the walls stood a dozen spirited sentries, watching for any movement, weapons in hand, standing ramrod straight.

"Saggos! We've finally arrived, this town that should have been mine!"

Jason stared at the three large characters on the city gate, Saggos, and couldn't help but murmur to himself. With patrolmen escorting them, it was easy for Jason and the others to enter Saggos.

After arriving on the streets of Saggos, it was vastly different from what Jason had imagined. It wasn't as prosperous as he thought it would be; instead, the people seemed to be living a very difficult life.

After wandering around the streets of Saggos, Jason, filled with many questions, headed towards the castle.

Having already received the news of Jason's arrival, Kelly Darian was quietly waiting for Jason at Saggos Castle, even though he was unwilling in every way, he had no choice."Why wasn't that idiot Jason killed by those thieves? It would have been so much better if he had been!" Kelida said to his follower.

"My lord, you don't need to worry too much. That Jason Ryan is just a foolish boy. It shouldn't be difficult for you to get rid of him, right?" Kelida's follower said to Kelida."You know what, we can't underestimate that kid too much now. Last time, he actually managed to escape from the mouth of that C-rank enraged beast, which shows he's got some skills. Besides, if he dies in Sagus for no reason, my uncle will definitely suspect me immediately. I still need to come up with a more comprehensive plan to get rid of him!"

Kelida said, taking a sip of the wine in his hand.

"The Lord is right!" Kelida's attendant said respectfully to Kelida.

"This fool has arrived."From the window, Kelida saw Jason approaching the castle and waved at him with a sardonic smile.

Jason noticed Kelida as well and waved back before heading straight into the castle, making his way to the room where Kelida was.

"Cousin!" Jason enthusiastically opened his arms and walked towards Kelida.

"Brother, you've finally arrived!" Kelida also opened his arms and embraced Jason.

"Oh, cousin, you have no idea how dangerous it was on my way to find you. I even encountered a large group of thieves and almost didn't make it!"

Jason complained to Kelida."I heard about it too, but it seems like you're alright, so I'm relieved," Kelida said to Jason with a smile.

"Yeah, I got lucky, nothing happened. Are you disappointed, cousin?"

Jason said to Kelida with a smile.

"What do you mean by that, little brother?"

Kelida's expression instantly turned serious as he stared at Jason.

"Haha, just kidding, look how serious you are!" Jason said with a laugh, hugging Kelida again.

"You haven't changed your mischievous nature at all!" Kelida said to Jason. After a long, insincere exchange filled with hidden agendas, Kelida finally invited Jason to sit down and have a meal with him.

After the meal, Jason lay back contentedly in his chair, rubbing his belly with a look of pure enjoyment on his face, which made Kelida's teeth itch with rage. He desperately wanted to rush over and kill Jason right then and there, but he knew that doing so would only bring trouble upon himself.

"Are you full, brother?" Kelida asked Jason.

"Yes, I am. The food here is so good, I'm very satisfied!"

Jason patted his belly and stood up, smiling as he spoke."Don't worry about anything in Sagus, just focus on having fun. Leave everything else to me!"

Kellyda said to Jason with a smile.

"Haha, you know me too well, cousin, you know what I love to do. But this time, I'm here to help you manage Sagus on my father's orders, so let's save the fun for later!"

Jason said to Kellyda with a smile, and handed him the letter of appointment from his father.Kellyda took the letter of appointment, tossed it on the table without even looking at it, and said to Jason with a smile, "Uncle Dawn is so thoughtful, sending you to help me share the burden, that's wonderful! And who are these people behind you?"

"Oh, them? They're my attendants. You can probably tell by their hair color that these two are Lord Martin's son and daughter, Kaladi and Vivian. This is Marty, he used to be a thief, but I've subdued him."
