Chapter 18 - A New Mission

The old man walked forward at an unhurried pace, each step slow yet resolute. His gaze was icy cold, showing not the slightest ripple despite the chaos that had just unfolded before him. Without a single unnecessary word, he raised his gun and pulled the trigger.

Two dry gunshots rang out almost simultaneously.

The heads of the two bodyguards exploded, blood and brain matter splattering across the ground. Their bodies collapsed like puppets with their strings cut. The old man looked at their corpses with contempt, a simmering anger rising in his chest.

They failed to fulfill their duty. They even allowed their master to be beaten so miserably.

Trash.

He took out his phone and dialed a familiar number. The call connected almost immediately.

The old man swept his gaze around, memorizing every detail of the surroundings, then spoke coldly.

"Larry, extract all camera footage from this area. Investigate that young man from earlier."

His voice wasn't loud, but it carried crushing pressure.

"Everything about him. His background, family, hobbies, enemies, friends. Dig up everything and report back to me."

On the other end of the line, Larry replied at once, respectful and not daring to delay.

"Yes, sir."

After a brief pause, Larry asked again.

"What about the police?"

The old man's eyes darkened.

"Seal off all information related to this place. Clean it up thoroughly. I don't want my identity exposed this early. It would affect our grand plan."

"Understood. I'll handle the witnesses and erase all evidence at the scene."

The call ended.

The old man put his phone away, a contemplative look appearing in his eyes. Killing all witnesses was impossible. One or two people disappearing might be covered up, but if an entire crowd vanished without a trace, it would definitely provoke quite a few forces lurking in the shadows.

There were some things, even he, could not touch casually.

Not far away, Jason coughed lightly twice. His face was still a little pale, yet his expression remained calm, as if what had just happened was hardly worth mentioning. Max didn't bring it up either, the two seemingly understanding each other without words.

Max noticed that the blood at Jason's wound had almost completely coagulated. He couldn't help but feel shocked.

This recovery ability was truly not something a normal human possessed.

But recalling the terrifying speed Jason had displayed earlier, Max felt that it all somehow made sense. For someone like that, an extraordinary body was hardly surprising.

The two continued walking in silence for a while.

Suddenly, Jason turned his head. His expression grew much more serious as he asked bluntly.

"Why did you save me? Do we know each other?"

Max stopped mid-step, causing Jason to stop as well. He slowly turned around and looked straight into Jason's eyes. His gaze was steady, without the slightest hint of evasion.

"No. We don't know each other at all. This is our first meeting."

Jason narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Then why?"

Max turned his back, gazing distantly at the sky. The streetlights cast light over his face, making his features seem somewhat indistinct. Jason suddenly felt the air around them grow strange, as if something invisible were spreading. He couldn't tell whether it was from blood loss or the pressure radiating from the man in front of him.

"I find you very interesting."

Before Max could finish, Jason hurriedly cut in, his voice tinged with panic.

"Brother, we can be friends. I'll remember this favor. But let me say this first—I only like women."

Max froze for a beat.

Seeing Jason look as if he were about to bolt, Max immediately dropped the mysterious demeanor, about to explain that he wanted to recruit him as a subordinate, not that.

"Wait, you misunderst..."

"No no no. There's no misunderstanding at all. I'll keep your kindness in my heart, but I only like women. Sorry."

Jason interrupted again, then quickly tossed a phone to Max. At the same time, he pulled out a smoke bomb and threw it straight onto the ground in the middle of the crowd.

White smoke billowed up, spreading rapidly. People around began coughing violently, their vision completely obscured.

When the smoke cleared, Jason was gone without a trace.

Only his voice echoed from somewhere.

"That phone has my number. I won't forget today's favor. If you ever run into trouble, just call me. I'll be there as fast as possible."

Max stood there, holding the phone, his expression hard to describe.

This guy… is he actually crazy?

Showing off like that right in the middle of the street.

A strange thought suddenly flashed through Max's mind.

"Could it be that he has a system? Gets stronger every time he shows off?"

The thought made even Max shake his head and laugh.

Still, he had a very clear feeling that he would meet Jason again soon. Their encounter hadn't been random. Max's intuition was rarely wrong.

After a while, Max reached the parking area. He got into his car, started the engine, and drove straight back to school.

The car was parked in a lot near the campus. Max got out and strolled casually into the grounds.

Just as he passed through the gate, a pickup truck suddenly sped by, deliberately splashing muddy water from a roadside puddle toward him.

If it were the old Max, he would've been soaked from head to toe, becoming a laughingstock in front of everyone.

But now was different.

With his enhanced physique, Max easily leaned to the side, dodging it. Dirty water splashed behind him. Max's eyes turned cold as he looked up at the slowing vehicle.

Inside were two familiar faces.

Sophia—the woman who loved bullying Max. Sitting beside her was Kelvin, her boyfriend, a tall blond guy who always acted like the center of the world.

Sophia leaned out of the car window, wearing a contemptuous smile.

"Loser, you're pretty quick today."

At that moment, a familiar sound rang out in Max's mind.

[Ding Ding Ding, beauty detected with appearance above 70]

[Name: Sophia][Appearance: 72][Affection toward host: -52 out of 100][She despises you deeply due to her contempt for the poor]

The system's voice was steady and cold, like a machine.

[New mission activated. You must make her climax while she is on a video call with Kelvin][Time limit: 1 month]

Max paused slightly.

Then another line appeared.

[Penalty for failure: you will be transformed into a woman and must sleep with Kelvin]

The corner of Max's mouth twitched.

The system truly never disappointed him, in the worst possible way.

[Reward: improved height and cheetah-like running speed. Information on an item that will surge in value in the future. One gender-swap pill, capable of reversing the gender of the user]

"A new mission, huh…"

A feeling of annoyance mixed with excitement quietly arose in his heart.
