Although the Lannister army had not suffered heavy losses—only a little over a hundred men had lost their fighting capability—the scene of Robb transforming into a giant dragon and annihilating a hundred soldiers in an instant was deeply carved into everyone's minds.
Morale collapsed completely!
They didn't know whether Robb could still unleash that terrifying power again, nor did they know when their own lives would be snuffed out.
This made them recall the legendary wars of ancient times—the tales they had heard from childhood to adulthood, of House Targaryen riding three giant dragons as they swept across the continent!
That was a dragon!
For the people of Westeros, having been ruled for hundreds of years beneath the banner of dragons, a deep-seated reverence and worship for dragons had long been ingrained. Robb understood this psychology perfectly—that was precisely why he had chosen to use the Dragon Prayer, a spell with enormous consumption.
"My spiritual power is slowly recovering. At the current pace, I should be able to unleash a complete Dragon Breath again after resting for about an hour."
Robb could sense his energy returning. He was already able to cast spells with relatively low consumption.
Thus, different-colored lights flared up in Robb's hands as he began to cast prayer spells, strengthening his combat power.
[Beast Vitality]
[Store beastly vitality within the body, allowing HP to recover slowly over a period of time.]
[Flames, grant me strength]
[Ignite flames upon the body, increasing physical power and fire-attribute damage.]
[Dragon Lightning Protection]
[Lightning coils around the body, allowing the protected one to deflect attacks more easily.]
[Black Flame Protection]
[Black flames ignite upon the body, reducing damage taken.]
...
One prayer after another—some defensive, some offensive—was cast by Robb and layered onto his body. In the night, his figure continuously lit up with lights of various colors.
Orange-red flames intertwined with black flames.
Golden lightning surged alongside dark, flowing Beast Vitality.
It was as if a god had descended upon the world!
Robb finally raised the longsword in his hand and thrust it toward the sky. A golden, sacred radiance spread out, enveloping all the wolf cavalry.
[Golden Tree Oath]
[A prayer that increases the attack power and defensive power of oneself and allied units.]
Every wolf cavalryman felt an unprecedented surge of strength fill their bodies, a fullness they had never experienced before spreading through their veins.
The fanatic light in their eyes grew brighter, and the hands gripping their lances no longer trembled.
Seeing the moment was ripe, Robb suddenly slashed his longsword downward. Three hundred wolf cavalry spurred their mounts forward together, charging in silence toward the already-disordered Lannister army!
Under the moonlight, the tips of their lances gleamed with silvery light, like a neatly ordered swarm of fireflies flying straight ahead.
Robb took the lead, charging at the front, wrapped in dazzling radiance as he plunged directly into the enemy formation.
Wuu—di—di—di—
Locking onto the position of the Kingslayer, Jaime, Robb raised his hand and loosed an arrow straight toward that head of golden hair.
Behind him, more than two hundred arrows whistled through the air.
Seeing Robb blazing with light and countless "fireflies" rushing toward him, Jaime froze for a brief moment—then instantly regained his battle instincts.
"Don't panic! The enemy has fewer than three hundred men!"
Jaime roared at the top of his lungs, directing the noble commanders under him. "They're coming straight for me! Three hundred men daring to charge the center—send troops to both flanks immediately! Accelerate and smash them from the sides!"
Seeing that the nobles under his command were still dazed, Jaime flew into a rage. Ignoring the rain of arrows flying toward him, he stood high and cursed at the top of his voice.
"Do you have brains or not?! Robb is coming for me! If you stay here, you'll have to face that monster's charge head-on! I told you to go to the flanks—why aren't you moving yet?!"
"I'll keep a thousand men here. The other two thousand go to the sides and kill them! Just one round of flanking charges and they're finished—we win!!!"
Jaime's furious roar finally had an effect. Some of the more timid lords felt as if they'd been granted a reprieve and hurriedly led their men toward the flanks.
However, without unified command, the formations descended into chaos. Units on the left wanted to ambush from the right, while units on the right tried to swing around to the left.
The soldiers had just been scared out of their wits; one by one, they kept glancing backward, thinking that if they ran back to the main camp, they might still have a slim chance to live.
If not for the discipline troops stationed behind them, people would have fled long ago.
Out of the three thousand cavalry, fewer than half could still be maneuvered normally.
That was enough… Jaime thought. Fifteen hundred men were more than enough to crush fewer than three hundred enemy cavalry.
Jaime sat astride his horse, accepted the helmet brought by his men, and stared across the battlefield at the charging Robb.
"Robb! I'm right here—come on!"
"Robb! Kill me with your sorcery, you bastard!"
"Hear my roar, Lannister—kill!"
Jaime cursed Robb loudly and shouted the Lannister house words, trying to rally his troops and pull their morale back from the brink of collapse.
He had seen through Robb's intentions, yet he did not flee. Instead, he chose to face Robb head-on.
Spitting on the ground, he muttered to himself, "Come on, you son of a whore. Let's see if you break my center faster, or if my wings cut through you first!"
But no matter how Jaime shouted or provoked them, the three hundred knights charging at high speed remained utterly silent.
Like the death knights of legend, they brought the enemy nothing but eternal silence.
Those facing Robb's wolf cavalry head-on had already begun to feel terror gnawing at their hearts. If not for Jaime's voice constantly ringing in their ears, they would have fled long ago.
Bang!
The first thing to shatter was the ice sculpture of a soldier frozen solid by Robb's Frost Dragon Breath. Immediately after, the Lannister cavalry saw lance tips glowing like fireflies.
The two charging waves of cavalry slammed into each other—and at that moment, the previously silent wolf cavalry finally erupted with their first roar of the night:
"Winter is Coming!!!"
The Lannister army, already on the verge of collapse, was terrified by this sudden roar, their courage completely shattered!
They then discovered in horror that their spearheads simply could not pierce the most dazzling figure on the battlefield.
Robb was the first to crash into the Lannister formation. Several spear tips instantly appeared before him, but Robb—layered with countless prayers—completely ignored those feeble lances. With a single swing of his sword, he chopped the spearheads straight off, sending them clattering to the ground.
Grey Wind followed closely behind. Its massive body and wolf howl that struck fear into horses' hearts caused some mounts to lose control almost instantly.
Grey Wind leapt up, twisting its body as it clamped down on a horse's throat, fresh red blood soaking into its fur.
Robb swung his sword again—simple and unadorned, yet the enemy could only watch helplessly as the blade sliced open his throat.
In the blink of an eye, several Lannister cavalrymen had already fallen to Robb's sword.
One man and one wolf tore open a gap at the very start of the battle.
The wolf cavalry behind them poured in like a tide. Their lances were unstoppable, instantly piercing through the Lannister defensive line—
And shattering their final psychological defense.
