Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - Yukio Sunohara

Back to the training area, Yukio sat on the floor with his legs crossed, Sora standing infront of him. "You know what chakra is right?" Sora asked.

Yukio nodded. "Y-yes. They briefly mentioned it in school, they told us that it is the fusion of our body and soul. And if we run out of chakra, we die." He told Sora.

"Can you sense your chakra? And control it?" Sora leaned down, his golden eyes staring into Yukio's peachish pink eyes. Causing the boy to blush a little.

Sora made a dirty expression and immediately backed up before coughing. "Answer the question."

Yukio's face turned serious and he shook his head. "No? Is that possible?" He asked with genuine confusion.

Sora hummed in thought, he couldn't really demonstrate it. But he could help Yukio try it.

"Alright, first you should try to sense it inside of you. Since you know what chakra is, now you just have to sense it!" Sora explained kind of horribly, there is no way the kid would understand it from tha—

"Oh wow! I can feel it!" Yukio said enthusiastically, his eyes opening wide.

Sora chuckled. "I knew you'd get it, you have me teaching you after all." He put his hand to his chest.

Yukio's eyes were practically sparkling at this point. "What's next, big bro?" He stared expectantly at Sora who hummed in thought.

"If you can feel it, try to move it around, focus the chakra to your hand, to your chest and then to your feet." Sora explained a lot better than before, but still not the best.

Sora squinted at Yukio, using a very very small amount of chakra to focus on the boy's internal chakra so that he could see if he was doing it correctly.

Whe Sora did this, one of his eyebrows twitched up. The kid was doing it almost perfectly, making Sora feel a little disheartened. But he immediately realised that Yukio is only this good because Sora himself was teaching him, obviously.

Sora wasn't slacking either, all this time he had been circulating his chakra throughout his body. "You're doing great, by the way." Sora praised, making the kid smile a little.

"You can see it?" Yukio asked, not stopping the movements of his chakra throughout his body.

Sora replied with. "Yes, now can you try to maintain the circulation of your chakra while standing up?" He wondered aloud.

Yukio didn't think twice before slowly standing up, maintaining the movements of his chakra.

"Damn. I really am the best teacher in the world." Sora said, more to himself than Yukio.

Yukio then looked expectantly at Sora, waiting for his next task. To which Sora turned to face the tree.

"Focus the chakra in your feet and walk up that tree." He said, a small grin tugging at his lips.

Yukio hesitated for a moment, it didn't really seem feasible but for some reason, he trusted Sora.

He walked forward, Sora noting the chakra in his body flowing to his feet as he stood next to the tree.

Yukio took a deep breath and placed one foot on the tree. The chakra seemingly both pulling Yukio and the tree slightly. He then closed his eyes and placed the other foot on the tree also.

Sora's eyes shot wide open, Yukio's doing the same.

"Woah!" Yukio shouted in disbelief, he was standing sideways on the tree, completely defying gravity.

Sora shook off any doubt in his mind as he studied Yukio a bit further. The chakra extremely stable, not too much or too little. "Can you walk up it?" Sora asked, looking up at Yukio.

The kid immediately lessened the amount of chakra in one foot, making it slide off and nearly losing his balance. But before he could slip, he placed it above the other and infused more chakra. It looked a bit difficult but he managed it almost flawlessly. He poured just enough chakra to stick to the tree, adjusting the amount to make any movements.

Sora was slowly doubting that he was the cause of Yukio's capabilities. Either he truly was the greatest teacher to ever grace the earth, or Yukio was a genius in chakra control. But Sora's pride would never let him believe the latter, so he just ran with the first former option.

"Okay, come back down." Sora said, Yukio following the command straight away, moving the chakra back to his chest as he slipped down the tree and landed on the ground, wincing a little at the drop.

It was Sora's turn now. Yukio looked at him expectantly as Sora focused the chakra in his feet and placed one on the tree, followed by the other—!?

Suddenly, Sora found himself flying away from the tree, landing heavily on the ground a few meters away. "What the hell?" He cursed with grit teeth, this is exactly why he didn't try it himself. So why the hell did it still happen?

Yukio stared at Sora in awe, as if he had just witnessed a master at work. "Woah! Big bro! You… can fly!?" He said with sparkles in his eyes.

Sora just side eyed the kid as he picked himself up from the floor. He walked up to the tree, focusing a very small amount of chakra in his feet and placing one on the tree again. This time, it slipped off. So he slowly increased the amount of chakra focused in that foot. The more he used, the less it slipped off.

After a moment of adjusting the amount, he memorised the perfect amount needed to neither slip or fly off.

And just like that, he was standing on the tree.

A few meters away, Yukio clapped his hands. Making Sora feel a little insulted, but he felt no animosity from the kid so he just let it be. He lessened the chakra very slightly in one foot and dragged it up. Taking his first vertical steps.

A moment later, Sora moved the chakra away from his feet and slipped down the tree, landing gracefully on his ass.

"Great, I need to work on the landing." He said, not even bothering to look at Yukio. He had embarrassed himself more than enough infront of the kid by now.

"Big bro… what's next?" A cheery, enthusiastic voice came from behind Sora, making him sigh.

He turned and faced Yukio. "Hey, I'm only 13… and my name is Sora Hino, you can just call me Sora."

Yukio raised his eyebrows and replied. "13? Wow, you are only 2 years older than me! I turn 12 in September though. And my name is Yukio Sunohara." He smiled a little awkwardly, they had known eachother for over a day and only now are they making introductions.

Sora paused. "Huh?" He stepped away from Yukio. "11? I thought you were like…" he looked Yukio up and down, looking at his very small stature and childlike face. "Younger than that… and those kids that were beating you up, they were only like 8 years old, no?" Sora asked.

Yukio's face flushed red in embarrassment. "Y-yes. They were. And that is why I wanted to train with you." He clenched his fists and looked at Sora with the most determined expression he had seen yet. "I don't want to be weak anymore, I don't want to get beaten anymore. I don't want to rely on others, I want to defend myself with my own hands."

Sora was taken by surprise at the sudden determination, but then he was inspired by Yukio's determination and grinned. "Alright then. Come here every day and we can train, let's become super strong together."

Yukio looked at him and smiled a little and nodded. "Okay!"

"Now… let's keep experimenting with chakra." Sora said as he circulated his chakra again, focusing the chakra into his hands.

Yukio just observed him, unable to see Sora's chakra. He watched as Sora took a deep breath before punching the air.

Sora hummed in thought and a second later he looked at Yukio. "It seems like simply focusing chakra in your hands before throwing a punch can actually increase the power by a lot." He smiled, he was making so much progress right now. He was certain if he kept this pace up he would be strong enough to leave the village in no time!

*SLAP!*

Yukio's eyes widened in surprise as Sora slapped himself.

Sora gritted his teeth, he was starting to get really tired of these fake expressions and desires that he suspected his alleged ancestor was putting in his head.

"Ignore that. Focus on the fact that we can now officially use our chakra in combat." Sora shook his head and poured more chakra into his fists, throwing a barrage of punches at thin air. Each punch making the air disperse around his fist.

Yukio followed Sora's command and attempted it for himself. He focused a good amount of chakra in his right fist before he threw quite a pathetic punch. But even though his form was atrocious, the punch itself could've easily knocked someone unconscious.

He opened and closed his hand, feeling the effects of having chakra focused in specific areas rather than being spread evenly throughout his body. "Why didn't they teach us about this in school?" He wondered aloud.

Sora couldn't help but agree, that really was strange. "Yeah. Good question, if they taught us all of this… then we could all easily become strong and rule the world!" He laughed.

Yukio didn't laugh though, he fully believed everything that Sora said. "But… should we tell the others about it?" He didn't really want this information to be spread, if more people got stronger then… that'd be harder for him to defend himself.

Sora chuckled. "Absolutely not. We don't need these stupid villagers, we can get super strong together and then become the leaders." He nodded in self satisfaction.

Before Yukio could reply, Sora walked over to the nearest wall and walked up it slowly. Yukio looking at him in confusion.

Sora looked over at him. "I'm going to keep doing this until I'm able to do it reflexively. I think this is the best way to learn how to control our chakra."

Yukio realised that Sora was actually right. Just circulating his chakra did help in a way, but the action of adjusting the amount of chakra needed in each foot depending on the steepness of the surface was way more helpful and showed results faster.

The younger boy walked over to the wall and walked up its surface, needing a little more chakra due to it not being even a little sloped. But this was actually easier than the tree. The tree had various ridges and branches that required different amounts of chakra to stick to, but the wall was just one solid surface.

Yukio looked over at Sora, who was walking around on the wall seamlessly. And followed him, just hoping no villagers would spot them. That would be way too awkward to explain.
