"Hey, we have enough money, right? Then why the hell are we still going to the graveyard?" Dev said.
"Yeah man, why are we even going?" Dhruv sighed, taking a long sip of Monster in frustration. "I thought tonight I'd play games all night, and now I'm stuck here with you idiots."
That was enough.
Raki exploded. "Hey, you're the captain, and you accepted this request from the merchant. So now you don't get to complain, sucker."
"Okay, okay, don't yell at me," Dhruv said quickly. "He offered a lot of money. And you didn't forget about next month's task, right? I thought this would be good practice before that. And you agreed too, so don't dump all the blame on me."
Raki clicked her tongue. "Fine. Fair enough. Anyway, we're almost there. Be ready, guys."
Then she looked at Ricky.
And almost lost it.
"Hey. Do you think we're idiots? Do you even care about anything?" she snapped. "I already told you to keep that phone in your pocket. We're discussing important stuff. Come on, Ricky. This isn't just another normal request. The soul we're capturing tonight is a demonic entity, not some random human soul. Be a little more serious."
"Ugh… how much money do I still need to upgrade this damn tower?" Ricky muttered, eyes glued to his phone.
"Hey, you son of a bitch, are you even listening to me—"
Before Raki could go nuclear, Alya stepped forward and grabbed her arm, calming her down.
This was their ghost-busting crew. Five members.
Raki, the witch girl. She knew black magic like it was second nature.
Alya, the medium. She could talk to souls and entities.
Then came the front fighters.
Dev. He could convert negative energy into speed. In simple words, dark energy made him fast. Very fast.
Ricky. He could summon an entity named Kuro and control it, but doing so put him into a trance state.
Dhruv, the leader. He could convert his negative power into a knife-like weapon, deadly after a full charge.
They reached the graveyard.
"Hey, guys. Be serious," Alya said, her voice low. "We're at the location."
She closed her eyes and started concentrating.
Meanwhile, Dev was yapping to Ricky about how he upgraded his tower in just four hours of nonstop grinding.
Alya finally snapped. "Can't you fools just shut up? I'm trying to concentrate, but you're making everything worse."
Raki had enough.
She removed the protective shields she had placed on Dev and Ricky earlier.
The moment the shields vanished, both of them froze.
"…Hey," Dev said slowly. "Why did you remove the shield?"
"You can't be serious," Ricky panicked. "Put it back. Please. We'll keep our mouths shut. Promise."
They dropped to their knees, begging.
Raki refused every single request.
While all this chaos was happening, Alya suddenly spoke. "She's here."
Everyone stiffened.
"It's a female entity," Alya continued. "Get ready."
But her face was pale. Fear crept into her eyes, and her breathing grew uneven.
Raki immediately activated Dark Energy Stabilizers on her.
Alya steadied herself, then reached out again, trying to connect with the entity.
Everything felt… normal. At least, normal for a demonic entity.
Still, Raki refused to return the shields to Dev and Ricky.
Now the two started acting cool, pretending they didn't care. "We don't need your weak shields anyway," Dev scoffed. "They never help us in a real fight."
That did it.
Raki was furious, but she stayed silent.
The duo moved toward the grave Alya had pointed out, placing summoning papers around it.
"But why are we placing these papers on the grave?" Dev asked. "The entity is demonic, not human."
"This entity is bound to the woman buried here," Alya replied flatly. "That's why it's in the graveyard. Isn't that obvious, you idiot?"
Ricky glanced around. "Uh… where's Dhruv?"
