Chapter 1 - Born of the Unknown

The pen name Lord Lanson was widely known for its strange sometimes extreme—ideas across many genres.

More than ten novels had been published under that name, yet no one knew that behind it stood nothing more than an ordinary man working at a grocery store.

"Not these idiots again…"

Nicholas muttered in irritation as his fingers hammered rapidly across the keyboard, firing back at a swarm of ill-mannered keyboard trolls.

He exhaled deeply.

What was so enjoyable about a life this monotonous?

Selling goods in the morning, writing novels in the evening—

a simple, repetitive cycle that many people somehow envied.

*Ding.*

A notification from an unfamiliar email echoed through the room.

Without much thought, Nicholas clicked it open.

[Do you wish to travel to another world?]

The absurd question made him pause.

Had trolls developed a new way to mess with people now?

Though he grumbled under his breath, Nicholas still clicked Accept in the end.

[Please specify the character you wish to reference.]

He didn't waste time.

What was he even supposed to answer to a question like this?

Without hesitation, he typed in the name of one of his favorite characters from his own novel.

After submitting his response, he looked around.

Yeah… definitely troll mail.

Thinking no further, Nicholas picked up his coffee and stood from his chair.

That turned out to be the most miserable case of interdimensional travel imaginable.

Unbelievable—this trash email was actually real.

What hurt the most was that the character he loved so dearly was a shota, not even 160 centimeters tall.

If he had known, he would have chosen someone handsome instead of cute.

And his death—well, it was… undeniably awful.

He had slipped, fallen, and landed squarely onto a life-size 1:1 figure, only to be impaled by the sword of his beloved main character.

Thin eyelids fluttered open in confusion.

It seemed the transfer had been successful.

[System Activated — Divine Authority Initializing…]

[Identity Confirmed Welcome to the world of *Hunter x Hunter]

[Status: Frame Nilhelham

Current Age: 16 (231)

Nen Type: Specialist]

Yeah—no doubt about it.

This was absolutely a character from a novel he himself had written.

Frame leaned over the stream to examine his reflection.

…Beautiful. Beautiful enough to make women feel ashamed.

Pale, flawless skin.

Long silver hair, soft and smooth like woven silk.

Eyes like a young deer's.

If he wasn't careful, someone might really drag him off and do something terrible.

He pressed his fingers to his temples in helpless frustration.

Why had he ever written this character like this?

"System, assign the initial quest."

Perhaps because this character was absurdly overpowered, Nicholas knew everything about him down to the underwear.

[Quest: Protect the Kurta Clan from annihilation in two days.]

[Reward: Based on user performance.]

Thanks a lot… damn system.

You start me off with a nightmare-level mission?

Why not just tell me to destroy the V5 while you're at it?

He complained silently as he moved toward the warp point the system had placed at the center of the village.

Thanks to the character's special status, no one could see him.

It felt less like possessing a body and more like existing as a spirit.

Frame spent most of his time drifting throughout the village.

He saw things the anime never bothered to show the tribe's daily life, simple yet warm.

And somehow, that warmth reached him too.

Floating above the settlement in his spectral state, Frame began preparing what needed to be done first:

the construction of defensive measures and emergency systems.

It seemed the Kurta worshipped gods and firmly believed in the afterlife.

Creation alongside destruction a classic, almost timeless divine philosophy.

By chance, while exploring, Frame encountered one of the characters who would later profoundly shape Kurapika's life *Pairo*, sitting quietly in front of his house with his eyes closed.

"Who are you?"

The boy suddenly spoke.

Frame glanced left, then right.

Aside from himself, there was only this boy here.

"…You can see me?"

They fell silent, staring at one another, both unsure of what to do.

"Are you a wandering spirit of our clan?"

Frame froze.

Why was it that the character he had painstakingly created his own beloved masterpiece had been reduced to nothing more than a wandering !!?
