Akira, Yuka and Maki walked down the lane throughout the forest, separated by multiple barriers that were placed there to confuse non-sorcerers.
The barriers are designed to prevent those without a Tokyo or Kyoto Jujutsu High sorcerer ID from navigating to the end of the lane by manipulating their senses in different directions.
And currently, even though Akira, Yuka and Maki all have their ID cards on their person, with Yuka even having a Special Grade ID card, they could not find it for hours.
Akira looked around before gazing up into the sky, where a thin barrier, invisible to his eyes but very visible to his superhuman senses, caused his brows to furrow in annoyance.
Looking to the side where a boulder adorned with multiple talismans was sitting, Akira jumped onto it before sitting down, resting his hands on his knee.
Yuka and Maki both followed him, leaning onto the boulder as they looked down at the floor in a tense and frustrated silence, with Yuka having clenched her fists, her nails piercing her palms.
"Looks like they already knew that their plans failed. And they even know that we're going after them," Akira spoke up, his voice echoing loudly in the quiet area.
Everyone went to sleep yesterday, tired mentally from the explosions and the assassins. Immediately upon waking up the next morning, they showered and then went out to finish what the Higher-ups started.
Yesterday, Akira wanted to confront the Higher-ups. However, Yuka persuaded him not to go because she was still worried about him still being injured from the explosions, even after healing him with RCT.
So he caved and relaxed the day.
The next day, after he woke up, Akira came to find out that the Higher-ups had hidden their location from them. Even Satoru Gojo could not find them because of these almost omnipresent barriers covering the entirety of Japan, created by Tengen.
"How are we supposed to find them when Tengen is helping them hide? Not even Gojo can do anything about Tengen's barriers." Maki spoke up as she looked up at Akira, her arms crossed across her chest.
Her tone was filled with annoyance. They had been looking for the location of the higher-ups' headquarters for hours now, and still found no trace.
"Can't Gojo-sensei really do nothing about these barriers? Or is Tengen-sama better than Gojo-sensei?" Yuka looked at Maki and asked with curiosity while pushing her anger and animosity down.
"Are you kidding?" Maki replied sarcastically.
"No one in this world is a stronger sorcerer than that blindfolded albino. But even Gojo is not the best at everything. Tengen has lived for hundreds, if not thousands, of years, mastering barrier techniques to the limit. There is no way Gojo can do anything about it, even if he tried."
Maki let out an amused snort as she placed her hands on her hips, shaking her head at the thought. Yuka looked down in disappointment, placing her palms in front of her lap as she turned silent.
Akira looked down from the boulder at the two girls, his lips curling into an amused smirk as he noticed how down they looked. Knowing the people who tried to murder them is still out there, and it must be pretty annoying.
"Hey, why the long faces? No need to be so angry about it. Those higher-ups are weaklings; no matter how they hide, they'll slip up, and once they do, I'll be there."
Akira said in a soothing voice, trying to calm down the two, especially Yuka. Yuka had been showing signs of anger issues in the past month, especially since it concerned Akira.
"I guess you're right, it's just frustrating that they are still out there, hiding in their hideout safely, while we can't even find them...I... I want them to die!"
Yuka spoke venomously before sighing as she lifted her head to the sky. her bangs falling back and revealing her forehead, her eyes locking with Akira's deep, red ones.
"Oh, I forgot to ask. Maki, have you gotten any news from your clan?" Suddenly remembering something, Akira turned to Maki and asked with raised eyebrows.
Maki looked up at Akira in surprise at his sudden question, becoming quiet for a second before replying.
"Why the sudden interest in the Zenin clan?" Maki asked Akira, who merely chuckled at her question.
"Well, since someone like that Noaya guy was from the Zenin clan, I figured they'd all be a bunch of women-hating, muscular man-loving, and small-dick-having people, who don't have anything better to do than hating on women 24/7,"
Akira finished his words with a shrug.
Maki looked up at Akira, and her eyes were twitching as she cracked a smile, trying to stop herself from laughing, which proved to be more difficult to do than she liked.
"Heh!" Maki let out a tiny laugh, to which Akira smiled in delight. Yuka watched Maki's reactions with a tiny frown before sighing as a smile crept up onto her face.
"So, did they say anything?" Akira asked again.
"No, they're probably scared of you, so they haven't said anything to me," Maki replied instantly, not showcasing any signs of lying or avoiding the question on the outside.
"You know, since they are tiny dick, having people, they don't have the manliness to stand up to you," Maki continued, a hand on her hip as she raised the other, a grin on her face.
'Did she just try to crack a joke?' Yuka sweatdropped as she looked at Maki with a side eye.
'She is lying...' Akira thought with a frown.
Akira instantly knew she was lying from the way her heart accelerated, before calming down as Maki controlled herself, along with a sheen of sweat coating her skin, invisible to the naked eye.
But he didn't continue asking since Maki didn't want to say anything to him. If she wants to do so in the future, he'll happily listen, but until then, he'll allow her the time.
He isn't a control freak who wants to know everything and every tiny detail about the women he likes. They don't have to constantly inform him of every thought they have.
She'll tell him when she is ready to.
"That's good," Akira replied with a smile, while Maki mentally sighed in relief.
[With Gojo...]
"Hmm..." Gojo hummed to himself as he floated high in the air and above the entire forest surrounding Tokyo Jujutsu High. His blindfold was off, revealing his sexy blue eyes. His white hair swayed in the fresh breeze.
"Oh, Tengen, Tengen, Tengen..." Gojo uttered Tengen's name three times in a row as he looked around. His voice was calm, filled with nothing but patience.
Lifting his hand slowly, Gojo pointed it towards the ground. Space distorted behind him, two polar opposites of infinite converging at the same time.
Space trembled as atoms were crushed into pieces and swallowed by a blue convergence, while the atoms were crushed by a constant pulsing point of red convergence.
Boom!
Purple lightning erupted in front of Gojo as a surge of violet light smashed, twisted, and pushed against space, creating constant ripples as if a stone thrown into a calm lake.
"I'll give you three seconds to stop messing around with the barriers, or I'll start throwing Hollow Purples all around the place. One is bound to hit the target, and remember. I. Can. Do. This. All. Day."
Gojo spoke in a now rather harsh and colder tone to the air, knowing damn well that Tengen is listening to him throughout her barriers.
"1" Gojo started counting.
"2"
"3-"
"Put your hand down, Satoru Gojo. I will stop hindering you. But understand this: your actions will plunge the Jujutsu world into chaos. Without the Higher-ups, everything will be thrown into disarray."
A deep and soothing feminine voice echoed around Gojo, who promptly placed his hand down, a grin on his face.
"Yayyyyy! Objective finished!"
