Maki felt cold sweat slide down her temple as she looked at Ogi across the hall, standing still with his sword in hand, the fire gone from the blade, but still threatening.
'I can't fight him, or Mai will die of blood loss... I need to get her to Shoko!' Mai gripped the hilt of the katana in her hand, looking behind her at Mai leaning against the wall, her breath weak.
Ogi walked forward, the black parts of his eyes extremely menacing with the contrast against his pupils. A Jujutsu Sorcerer's eyes only turn black once they go berserk or have some deep regret in their soul.
Ogi regretted having Maki and Mai so much that his eyes literally turned black from anger and disappointment.
Swoosh!
Ogi swooped down towards Maki, slashing his katana down with extreme speed, slicing the air in front of the blade. His muscles reinforced with cursed energy throbbed with force.
Maki's eyes contracted into pinpoints as she placed the katana in her hand before the sword strike. With a loud clanking, they connected, the force pushing Maki back and crushing the ground under her.
Fwhoom!
Maki diverted Ogi's sword to the side before flashing away into his blindside, her katana leaving an afterimage. Ogi's eyes opened in surprise as a thin line of blood spurted from his back.
He barely managed to move an inch before the sword struck him fatally.
Using Mach Movement in her strike, Maki managed to increase her striking speed drastically, catching Ogi off guard due to its speed.
[Falling Blossom Emotion!]
A circular bubble appeared over Ogi's body, covering his body and a radius of three meters centred on his feet. Maki's sword strike vanished before his eyes, but it was useless.
Falling Blossom Emotion allowed Ogi to strike anything his cursed energy comes in contact with automatically. Maki's sword was swatted to the side by his sword, but not before the upper half of Ogi's blade broke, flying past his ear while leaving a deep gash on his face.
Boom!
Ogi ignored his broken blade and, without giving Maki any time to collect herself, planted the sole of his foot in her guts, sending her flying.
Maki was knocked back, crashing into the wall with cracking force, blood seeping from her lips. She kept her eyes open, allowing her to see as Ogi ejected blue flames from the broken tip of his sword, anger on his face.
"You left a mere scratch on me due to luck; it won't happen ever again!" Ogi said with a deep growl as he lunged forward. He thrust his sword out, and Maki tried to block, but it was a mistake.
Swoosh!
The blazing sword elongated, stabbing straight into Maki's stomach and coming out from the back. Her wound was instantly burned, stopping the blood loss, but also causing the injury to worsen.
The smell of burned human meat and skin drifted in the wind, causing Maki to scrunch her nose up in disgust and pain.
"Ugh!" Maki felt blood eject from her trembling lips, cold sweat soaking her clothes as she looked at Ogi, who huffed in annoyance before pulling his sword back.
"Before killing you. I'll kill the even bigger disappointment. You can at least fight. But your sister can't even do that," Ogi turned away from Maki, walking to the barely awake Mai, who drifted in and out of consciousness.
The sounds of Ogi's footsteps were loud, echoing in Maki's ears as she placed her hand on the wall to stand up. Her entire body trembled from pain, her eyes fierce as she looked at Ogi's exposed back.
Ogi stopped in front of Mai, his broken sword raised in the air high above his head. With a snort, he used Blazing Courage to eject blue flames from his sword, distorting the air from the heat.
"Be gone, along with all your sins, my worthless daughter, who knows, you might be born a man this time around," Ogi uttered before slashing his sword down towards Mai, who merely looked past him towards Maki.
"Mai!"
Boom!
Maki launched her sword at full power, utilising Mach Movement to boost its speed and break the sound barrier. Ogi's eyes twitched, quickly using Falling Blossom Emotion to strike the flying sword coming towards him.
Boom!
A shockwave was created as his sword clashed with Maki's, throwing Mai away from him into the distance due to the force.
"You meddling child!" Ogi turned around with throbbing veins of anger on his forehead as he dashed towards Maki. He injected flames into his sword before thrusting it towards Maki's upper body.
Swoosh!
A beam of flames was ejected from the tip, closing in on Maki faster than she could move. Maki's eyes widened, the light of the fire burning in her pupils.
Boom!
Maki's entire upper half was engulfed in flames, her clothes were instantly burned off, and her skin was burned in many places. The ends of her hair curled up from the heat, her eyes white as she lost consciousness immediately.
The smell of burned skin wafted in the air as Ogi turned away from Maki, letting her fall onto the ground, before making his way towards the trembling Mai in the distance.
Mai looked at Maki's body on the ground, tears blurring her vision as she felt the connection between them get thinner and thinner.
Ogi did not say a word; he just slashed his burning sword down on Mai, cleaving her shoulder in half, all the way down to her chest, where her heart was instantly sliced in half.
Splash!
Blood spurted everywhere, splashing onto Ogi's detached and cold face as he looked down at Mai. The light in her eyes faded away as she stopped moving, blood pooling under her like a red moon.
Ogi felt his chest expand rapidly as fresh oxygen filled his lungs, and he felt the stone on his heart lift and lighten. Instead of feeling negative emotions, he only felt relief and joy at the death of his daughters.
"Finally, the stain on my legacy and life is now washed away... The only one remaining in my way is Naobito and Megumi Fushiguro..." Ogi muttered as he turned around, walking towards Maki, whose weak heartbeat suddenly started accelerating.
ba-dum...
Ba-dum...
Ba-dump, ba-dump, ba-dump!
Maki's eyes snapped open, her cursed energy, which was already close to zero, vanishing and fading away from her body, as if she never had any of the negative energy to begin with.
Swoosh!
"Ugh!" Ogi felt a pain shoot through his body, tearing at his senses and nerves as if he were in boiling lava, deep under a volcano. Then, his vision went absolutely dark, never to see light again.
Squilch!
Maki crushed both eyeballs in her hand, while Ogi fell onto the floor face-first, his eye sockets empty, and his brain matter flowing out like liquid, shattered and liquefied by the force of Maki's new strength.
"Mai..." Maki looked at Mai's body in the distance, tears collecting in the corner before she fell, passing out from her serious injuries and on the verge of death without immediate treatment.
