Chapter 41 - Sorcery Guild

[1 month later...]

Nanami Kento, a Grade 1 sorcerer with the cursed technique Ratio. Able to create a grid on anything, where striking at a specific 7:3 ratio acts as a critical, with power similar to a lesser Black Flash.

He had left behind the life of a Jujutsu Sorcerer; his mind and sanity had been worn down after all the death he saw, and after his best friend had been killed in a mission that had been assigned the wrong Grade.

But today, Nanami Kento had come back to the profession of a Jujutsu Sorcerer, and for the simple reason of what had happened.

Inside an office room, Nanami Kento looked at Satoru Gojo in front of him, with clear surprise in his eyes at the news he had just heard.

"You killed the Higher-ups?... What is the meaning of telling me this, Satoru?" Nanami sighed as he asked, tired from overworking. He reached up, loosening his tie as he leaned back against his chair.

He is surprised at what Gojo revealed, but he knew it was just a matter of time before Gojo did something like that.

"I decided to create a new organisation that takes care of the matters of the Jujutsu World, called Sorcery Guild, the name is courtesy of my favourite student~,"

Gojo chuckled as he said the name.

He had gone around asking his students for a suitable name, but every one of them was bad, until he got to Akira, who told him the name.

"Sorcery Guild?... Satoru, why are you telling me this?" Nanami spun his chair to face Gojo, his computer screen flashing with his half-finished work.

"I want you to become one of the new Higher-ups in the Sorcery Guild, overseeing the matters of the Jujutsu World." Gojo's smile vanished, replaced by a dead serious one.

Nanami raised his head, his eyes locked onto the ceiling of the office. The smell of smoke from his colleagues entered his nose, and the tiredness from working constantly for the whole week crashed down on him.

The sight of curses crawling on the ceiling and the walls, with some flying over his head, entered his sight as well. After a moment's thought, Nanami came to a decision.

"Fine, I'll join this... Sorcery Guild of yours, is there anyone else?" Nanami looked down, his eyes connecting wiht Gojo's blindfold.

Nanami felt his lungs expand, able to breathe easier as if a heavy stone had been lifted from his shoulders. Truthfully, Nanami detested the life he currently lived and hated working a 9-to-5.

He would rather be back as a Sorcerer.

"Yosha! Welcome to the team, Nanamin! As for who the others are, they are-"

[With Akira...]

"Here, please drink some tea!" Akira sat on a comfortable couch in a traditional Japanese room, a low table covered with plates of snacks and a warm cup of Jasmine tea in front of him.

Sitting next to Akira was Yuka, eating wiht a satisfied grin on her face as she picked up some of the snacks on the table.

Utahime served him the tea, her eyes avoiding his with a tiny blush painting her fair cheek. Once she served the tea, she quickly went to sit down next to Principal Gakuganji.

"I am glad to finally meet you, Akira Shokotsu. First of all, I need to thank you for saving Utahime from that curse; she was sent there on my account," Gakuganji spoke up in a respectful tone, his hands resting on top of his cane.

"No problem, it's what my duty is. I couldn't just stand and watch Utahime get killed after all," Akira shrugged his shoulders as he reached for the tea. He brought it to his lips and took a sip, letting out a comfortable sigh as the warmth flowed down his stomach.

Yuka suddenly looked up from her snacks, her eyes locked onto the cup of Jasmine tea in Akira's hand. She reached out, taking the cup from his hand before bringing it to her lips.

Slurppppp~

"Ahh!"

Yuka sighed, a comfy smile on her face as the warmth pooled in her stomach. Akira watched with an amused smile, leaning back onto the couch before spreading his hand, putting a hand over Yuka's shoulder.

Utahime watched, her face stiffening before a slight pout appeared on her face. Her lips squished together to the side, her hands gripping her red Hakama skirt.

"Anyway, why are you two here?" Utahime spoke up, causing Yuka to narrow her eyes at her as she sensed the jealousy in her tone instantly.

Yuka grinned, a mischievous light flashing in her eyes, before she leaned closer to Akira, resting her face on his chest. Her hand moved to his stomach and began to rub in slow, sensual circles.

Click!

Utahime's teeth clanked together, a tick mark appearing on top of her head before she took a breath to calm herself down.

Akira chuckled at Yuka's actions as he rubbed her head gently. Looking up, he replied to Utahime's question.

"I imagine you two know about the death of the Higher-ups, right?" Akira asked, the atmosphere suddenly turning sombre and filled with tension, especially Gakuganji.

Gakuganji was a sucker for rules. Although he had gotten better after Utahime was almost killed. Gakuganji had taught Utahime and watched her graduate from Kyoto before becoming a teacher here.

He had known her for more than a decade, and she had reached a spot in his heart that was almost familial. After sending her to her death, knowing it was suicidal, Gakuganji realised his mistakes too late.

"Yes, Satoru Gojo killed them in retaliation for attacking you and your friends. Why are you asking?" Gakuganji replied, while Utahime, besides him, clenched her in anger.

How could they attack students who are working for them? Isn't that kind of... Counterproductive?

"Well, now that there are no Higher-ups to keep the order and workings of the Jujutsu World, Gojo built an organisation to take care of it called the Sorcery Guild, and he needs people to run it."

Akira wasn't exactly a fan of this organisation thing. But he knows that without an organisation taking care of the Jujutsu World, his missions would be free labour.

He did it for the money.

"And we want you, Principal Gakuganji, to become one of the Elders of the Sorcery Guild, along with Nanami Kento and Principal Yaga," Akira finished announcing the names.

There were supposed to be four members of the Sorcery Guild, with Nanami Kento, Principal Yaga, and Principal Gakuganji being the first three members.

The fourth member was supposed to be Gojo, but he didn't want to be responsible for all the paperwork, so they will need to find another one to fill the gap.

"Hmmm... Utahime, how do you feel about becoming the new Principal of Kyoto High?" Gakuganji did not respond immediately; instead, he turned to Utahime and asked her about her thoughts.

"M-Me?" Utahime widened her eyes at Gakuganji's words while pointing at herself.

"Yes, you,"

"Well... I guess I wouldn't mind becoming the new principal..." Utahime responded, her heart beating wildly in her chest. Utahime had become a teacher because she liked teaching.

Becoming the principal is just an extension of her teaching duties.

"Well, you heard her. I guess these old bones have no choice but to join this Sorcery Guild," Gakuganji replied with satisfaction in his tone.

"Good! Our business is finished over here. We'll get going," Akira stood up, leaving for the door.

Yuka glanced at him with panic, the tea in her hand still not finished. A struggle appeared on her face for a second before she hardened her features and finished the hot tea in one gulp.

Bam!

Yuka slammed the cup on the wooden table, ignoring the comfortable burn in her throat, before jumping up and following Akira out of the room.

"Bye!" Yuka called out before leaving the room.
