Akira narrowed his eyes with anger boiling under his skin, ready to erupt like an active volcano as he instantly thought of the reason that Maki and now her sister are missing.
He already knew that Maki was hiding something from him about the Zenin clan. But he didn't really want to get involved without Maki's permission, as it wasn't any of his business.
But now they crossed a line.
So it's his business now.
"Don't worry about those two, Utahime-san. I'll take care of it," Akira replied into the phone before hanging up. He placed his phone in his pocket as he turned to Gojo, who was listening the whole time.
"Wow, didn't expect the Zenin clan to touch Maki while under my care... Should I go and have a talk with them as well?" Gojo asks himself with a cold tone, before being interrupted by Akira.
"Gojo-sensei, do you know where the Zenin clan estate is?" Akira sked, anger burning in his eyes. Gojo instantly knew what was going through his eyes, and he smiled before revealing the location.
"Thanks,"
Akira said before leaving.
Boom!
Akira left behind a sonic boom as he darted into the forest, looking through his phone contacts as he scrolled down to the last name. He hesitated for a second before calling the number.
"Hey, it's me, Akira... I need your help," Akira spoke into the phone, unwillingness in his tone, before a charming chuckle echoed from the other end.
"But you'll need to give me a reward in return~," the voice on the other end said.
"Fine," Akira replied.
[20 Minutes before, in the Zenin clan Estate...]
Maki stood in front of the Zenin clan's gates, her eyes filled with burning anger and hatred as she clenched her hand around the strap of her weapon suit.
Imagine her shock and hate when he woke up this morning, thinking it would be rainbows and unicorns as she trained with Akira as usual, only to get a message from her father, and a picture of Mai, covered in blood.
Bang!
The massive gates opened, pushed open by two struggling Zenin clan servants, both of whom were women in their middle ages, their eyes emotionless and void.
"Maki-sama, Lord Ogi awaits you," A servant walked out from behind the gate, bowing slightly as she spoke to Maki, who clicked her tongue at the mention of her father's name before following after the servant.
Maki followed after the servant, her eyes looking at every inch of the compound with hate as it reminded her of all the times she was bullied, beaten, and mocked.
Soon, the two reached a building in the back of the compound, surrounded by hills and mountains. It resembled a barren land, a massive lake surrounded by a forest in the middle of it all.
Maki reached a place surrounded by two mountain walls, a massive gate between them, with Ogi waiting for her there, and her own mother standing beside him.
"Where is Mai?" Maki asked with a cold tone, walking forward until she was a few meters from Ogi and her mother. Ogi looked at her with a frown, disgust and hate in his eyes.
"Follow me," Ogi ignored Maki's question coldly as he turned and walked to the gates. Pulling out a key from his Obi, Ogi opened the gates with loud clanking noises.
Maki followed Ogi, walking past her mother and ignoring her existence as if she didn't exist. Maki's mother looked at Maki walking past her, disgust and hate in her eyes.
It was because of this daughter of hers that she was hated by her husband, and because of her that her husband didn't become the clan head.
She hated Maki's existence.
Maki likewise hated her guts.
Stepping into the cursed tool storage room, the gates behind Maki closed automatically, while her eyes gazed at all the cursed tools strapped to the walls.
She recognised that some of them came from Jujutsu High's cursed tool storage, and she also recognised some powerful cursed tools belonging to the Zenin clan.
"Where is Mai?" Maki asked again as she looked back at Ogi's back, who still ignored her question; instead, he started rambling on about things Maki didn't care for.
"Do you know why I never became the clan head? It was because of you and Mai. I had everything; my combat ability was equal to my brother's, and my cursed technique was strong. The only field I lost to him in was my children,"
Ogi spoke with anger and regret, his voice getting colder and colder by the second, his palm resting on the hilt of his sword.
Finally, the two reached the end of the storage hall, where another gate was, but this time someone was already there. Maki's eyes narrowed in anger and pain as she saw Mai curled on the floor, blood covering hr face and clothes.
On her chest, a massive sword slash, from Ogi's own sword, could be seen, deep enough to showcase her internal organs, but missing every internal organ, allowing her to stay alive.
"Mai!" Maki dashed past Ogi, kneeling beside her sister as she pushed Mai onto her back, her palm landing on her stomach, warm blood coating her skin.
"M-Maki?... Leave me..." Mai looked up, her eyes barely open as she spoke to Maki, who started tearing up. Mai's vision was blurred, the blood loss affecting her.
Her voice was filled with a push, not wanting Maki to stay here and be killed by Ogi, who had already made it clear as to why he called Maki here to her.
"The position of the next Zenin clan head is between Megumi Fushiguro and You, can you believe that? You, a failure, the next clan head?" Ogi slowly pulled out the sword on his hip from its sheath.
"I'll make sure you die before you get the chance!"
[Blazing Courage!]
Swoosh!
A blazing sword struck towards Maki from behind, distorting the air from the intense heat. Maki barely had time to grip Mai's arms and jump away by using Mach Movement.
Boom!
A massive stretch of the hallway floor was cut into the smooth ground, destroying it. The cut extends for a hundred meters and slices through the gate to the disciplinary pit wide open.
"You managed to dodge my attack... Is it from that movement technique?" Ogi asked without a hint of care in his tone as he looked to the side, where Maki rested Mai against the wall.
Above Maki and Mai, strapped to the wall was a Katana that had a chain at the end of the handle. Maki looked up, and she threw her own weapon to the ground before ripping the Katana off the wall.
Ogi watched without a move to stop her, disdain clear in his eyes. To Ogi, it doesn't matter what weapon Maki is using; it will never change the fact that she is a weakling.
"A Heavenly Restriction user... What a joke," Ogi muttered with disdain.
