Chapter 24 - Parting For Strength-2

Calix unconscious.. fell on the ground with a low thud. The little sound of that making everyone coming out of their shock.

Anaerah moved running towards Calix into the blackened crater. Quickly, she placed her hand above his heart.

A green energy, flew straight towards Calix. It was her Life Element Affinity.

As the pulse of life mana fell into his body. Wounds and burns that bled began to stop, while some minor one's even starting to heal.

She wasn't strong enough to heal him, perfectly. Sharply, she looked straight towards her guards.

"Stop standing like a statue, i need a healer quick." She said frowning.

From her guards, a lady came out quickly. Placing her hand on Calix's chest, she started chanting something. A pulse of golden mana lit up the night as the light element worked.

The burns and wounds began repairing themselves, the burst tendons and arteries inside his body also started to heal.

After constantly, using the healing for ten minutes. The golden pulse stopped as the healer stopped and breathed out heavily.

"Is he alright?" A calm and cool feminine voice came from behind the healer and Anaerah. Turning, her head around Anaerah looked at the owner of the voice and her personal guard.

She stood behind them, with a quiet grace of a warrior. Just from her frame, she looked someone not to be messed with.

Her brown hair were tied in a ponytail, while her amber eyes calmly looked at the situation. A long saber rest on her waist wrapped in a black hilt.

She wore a sliver armour, covering all the important parts of her body in perfect safety. While, still being flexible enough to not hinder her movements.

"Y-yes, Mrs. Cynthia. He is out of the danger now. H-however, the wounds he had they weren't something that a teenager could handle. His insides were a mess." Saying, she took a breath for a moment and spoke.

"Teared veins, broken tendons.. overloaded mana circuits with cracks in them, a deep wound on his shoulder....and much more. I don't know how he was standing when we came here." She finished.

"..." Cynthia's brows raised slightly, listening to the extent of his injuries.

'Such endurance for a novice. How very...rare' She thought then glanced at the Boss's corpse.

It was still, somewhat unbelievable that a novice had killed an intermediate+.

Of course, there are some geniuses who could fight being higher ranks than themselves, however she couldn't obviously believe to find one in this forest.

Sighing, she finally looked at Anaerah who sat on the ground beside Calix...not doing much just staring in the empty air.

"My lady..the carriage is ready. We should move and return to the Dukedom. Your father had been worried sick about you." She said.

"...Okay." Hesitating slightly, at the thought of meeting people who would be called her parents she finally agreed.

"Take that body with us and place Calix in my carriage." She said and moved towards her carriage.

"Yes, princess." Cynthia bowed as she spoke.

*****

Calix's eyes twitched slightly, as they quivered open.

As his eyes opened, a golden ceiling that practically screamed of money from afar, came into his view. Raising his hand and blocking the intense light from entering his eyes, he pushed himself up.

"You woke up? That was quick.." A soft voice entered his ears.

Turning his head, he saw Anaerah sitting in front of him slightly away on another seat, with a hard covered book in her hands.

Beside her, sat another woman. It took a moment for him to recognise her. Well, her presence was hard to ignore anyway.

'Cynthia...Elizabeth's personal guard, eh.'

"Quick huh...how much time had passed?" He asked.

"Two hours, since we started moving towards the Dukedom." Anaerah said.

"I see." He said as he leaned on the wall. "What about the children and other kidnapped peoples?" He said his eyes closed.

"They are fine.." She answered.

"That's good." He said and for a moment no one spoke.

"If you wanna ask something just say so...stop staring it's uncomfortable." Without opening his eyes Calix addressed Cynthia.

"You do know that you are in the presence of a noble, don't you think your attitude is bit... lackluster." Cynthia asked tilting her head lightly.

She wasn't ordering him or anything...rather just asking. After all, commoners tend to suck up towards noble.

"Hmm, you are correct but i apologize princess. You see, i am still reeling from the aftermath of the battle. So forgive me for my lack of decorum." Calix said maintaining the tone of his voice.

No matter, from where or which world he come from. Here, disrespecting a noble would surely e your doom. A thing, he doesn't want to happen after he had tried so hard to survive.

"It's alright, you don't need to care much about...theatrics." Anaerah said.

"See." Calix said his eyes finally opening and directly looking Cynthia.

"If My lady is fine, then it's not a problem." Cynthia said.

"Ah, but if it's not a problem can i atleast get something to..put on you know?" Calix asked as he looked at himself still being barechested, partially naked.

With how pale and less muscular he was right now, in his new body...it wasn't a good feeling to be stared like that.

"You can use the shower and freshen up. There's a change of clothes already there for you, it's the least I can do right now." Anaerah said her tone strangely professional yet awkward.

"Oh, thanks i guess." Calix appreciated it.

Right now, he felt like he was wearing a second skin of filth and blood on his body making him feel disgusting.

So a shower was much...much appreciated.

With that, he raised himself from the seat and moved towards the built-in bathroom of the carriage, though as he move towards it, he didn't noticed the slight frown on Cynthia's face.

'My lady is just too...humble.' She thought..
