Chapter 28 - Getting a cheat?-3

Haa Haa

Heavy breaths exhaled out of his mouth, as Calix ran away from the monster. It was the most logical thing to do obviously.

Things were happening too fast for him to digest...he needed a moment to think, to ponder on his plan's of action.

Turning his head he looked back to see if the monster was chasing him. Hopefully it wasn't. A relieved exhale came out as he finally stopped near a rock.

Though this time he checked it carefully, after several checks confirming that the rock was rock. He finally sat on the sand, with his back leaning against the wall.

Hot.

The black sand beneath him was very hot.

"Okay okay, let's calm down and summaries everything logically." He said inhaling deeply to calm his mind.

First...this place is creepy as fuck.

A black desert with no light, no sun and large monsters.

What kind of dungeon is that?

"Actually, wait. The system said that i was supposed to be here, when i was an Intermidiate however due to it's error the portals have been changed and here I am. If...if it's intermediate does that mean i am in that...?" His didn't finished the words as his heart thudded finally having an understanding what was happening.

"Agh, i thought only the main cast was supposed to face these dungeons. Why me?" He groaned.

Since the main story hadn't started yet, he had thought that the things relevant from the original novel wouldn't appear yet...however he was wrong.

In the novel the main cast, when they reached the Intermediate rank they were given a unique quest. A quest in which they have to clear dungeons similar to this kind.

The reason he was slightly shocked was because only the main cast was supposed to go through with this quest. It was a quest totally exclusive for them...yet here he was taking it as an novice.

'I hate my luck.'

"However, if i somehow clear this dungeon then the rewards are totally worth it." He thought as he clearly remembered the enticing rewards gained through this single quest.

However in no way was he arrogant enough to take this quest lightly. Even the Protagonist had hell here how can he survive easily.

Trrrrk Trrrrk

An unusual sound came from his side, Calix sharply looked at his side his sword already in his hand.

From the black ground, a long bony hand moved out. The bones being dark obsidian instead of calcium white.

In another second, a second hand also came from the snady ground. Pushing the body up with those bony hands a whole skeleton was out.

Krrrr krrrr

The bones creaked as the skeleton turned fully towards Calix, it's eyes dark and empty. Chunks of rotten flesh and sand spread on it's whole body while a small burning black core settled in it's chest.

[Corrupted Skeletons- Novice]

The information provided by the system told it's name.

However before Calix had the time to even read the name properly the skeleton lunged at him it's bony mouth open rotting as distinct murky dark greenish mist curled from it's teeth.

Calix ducked as the skeleton's jaw above him closed with a loud sound. The skeleton was fast sure, however not enough to escape his perception.

Turning his blade upside down, Calix hit the pummel of his sword straight into the skeleton's chin, it's whole head tilting to other side.

However, even after that it didn't have much affect on it as, the skeleton attacked the boy it's hand shooting towards him with an uncanny speed and intensity.

Spark

Bolts of amethyst lightning speard out of his body, as they wrapped around his another hand. Rapidly before the skeleton's hand could touch him.

He thrusted his hand forward towards the chest of the skeleton as a condensed punch hit the monster sending it in the air flying away.

Calix didn't just stopped there. As the skeleton flew in the air he aimed straight at the monster's core. It's biggest weakness.

"Slash." As the words left his mouth, an invisible and intangible slash of mana whistled towards the skeleton's chest slashing straight through its chest still in mid-air.

[Quest Progress...You Killed and Corrupted Skeleton.]

Calix exhaled deeply, as the skeleton's body..uh bones fell on the sand clattering among themselves.

Though just as he breathed out, hands once protruted from the ground and this time multiple of them.

Calix watched as the desert rang up, with the sound of clicking and clattering of bones as atleast eight more skeleton's came out of the sand.

"Well, this just got things more interesting." He said, and just for a moment he glanced away from the monster's.

Raising his head in the dark, he looked straight towards the middle of the desert, where he now can see some distinct shapes coming out of the sand.

"Middle eh... let's level up a bit before going there." Amethyst Lightning wrapped around his violent blade, as in the black desert tricolour orbs swirled with a feiry glow.

Ten days later.

Sitting on the rock, as Calix watched the bones around him. He sighed. Taking out his enchanted water bottle from the system's inventory. He drank as the cold water helped his mind to steam off the heat.

Drinking the water his gaze fell on the ghastly cut on his forearm. He frowned looking at the bloody gash.

"Nasty. Let's heal you." Saying, he closed his eyes and as he tapped deep inside his body or rather his soul.

Soon, a stream of green energy leaked out his hand, as it moved towards the cut on his forearm. A soothing sensation spread into his body as the pain from the cut dulled as it started to heal.

Soon enough, the whole injury was healed gone without a trace of it's existence.

"It really is a very useful affinity, guess... having a bond to your soul is rather convenient. Hmm, i wonder what she would be doing right now." Calix thought as he lightly traced the bottle given by Anaerah.

Then, as if remembering something.

"Oh, i ranked up. Right? I should check it." Summoning the bottle back into the inventory, he spoke.

"Status."
