CHAPTER 1: THE STARTING POINT
It's a cold morning to wake up to, something I have yet to get accustomed to despite being an airship squadron captain for so long. After fighting the urge to remain rooted in my bed, I begin my day with a silent prayer, followed by a bit of room cleaning and, lastly, a shower.
Leaving my room, I'm greeted cheerfully by one of the ship attendants, Karla Rimler. "Good morning, Commander Franz" she said, and I replied cheerfully as well, "Good morning, Karla." As we walked to the center of the ship's command room, I was greeted by other subordinates present on the ship, another thing I still cannot get used to.
Today's agenda was to finalize a plan to support our ground forces in Itala, a nation that we have been at war with for a few months now. The advance on the ground had slowed down, and high command decided to send the airship fleets to speed things up. This was also a rare chance to see the other squadron commanders,
Many of whose names I can barely recall. "This is going to be a long day," I muttered. After reaching the ship's command room and doing the routine greetings and checks, it was time for the meeting.
