Vera Xavier felt a little frustrated. That bastard Sheldon Caldwell was always hanging around in front of her for no reason, but now that she actually needed him for something, he was gone again. 'He's the very picture of reliability,' she thought.
Cell phones hadn't even become widespread in this era; there were only the expensive brick phones. Even if she wanted to call Sheldon Caldwell, there was no way to reach him...
She started to head back to her dorm, feeling a little dejected. On the way, she ran into her instructor. Figuring she could ask him about Sheldon Caldwell's whereabouts, she gave the instructor a salute and a greeting.
The instructor remembered her well, too. She was the most outstanding student in his group. During training, all of her movements were executed to perfection, and she had even led the students in stretching exercises.
The instructors had even given Vera Xavier's set of stretches and relaxation movements a name: the Stretching Routine.
