The boys spent the next hour watching television. When the button was pressed, the bed would form a backrest at its end, allowing them to lean against it like a sofa and watch the television, although there weren't arms for it. The programs were boring — cartoons, documentaries, films in German, but there wasn't anything else to be done, hence he forced himself to focus to not fall asleep. He still didn't trust Josef and Fate. But finally, Cevil wasn't able to focus on the screen for hours and fell asleep with KJ swiping his phone besides.
Cevil opened his eyes when he heard the door swing open. It was probably the last person he expected to have seen. As it opened, Kent rushed forward and embraced Cevil. Cevil froze, startled, but when he recovered and was about to speak, Josef entered the room with two men beside. He had an unpleasant smile on his face with tiny ugly sparks in his green eyes. He lifted his gun and pressed the trigger.
"NO!"
Cevil sat up, breathing heavily. He scanned the room quickly; everything was as it was before. KJ sitting beside him, the fishes swimming, the television still playing boring cartoons. He let out a huge sigh of relief but tensed up as the door was pushed open, and instinctively reached into his jacket for the gun. He aimed at the doorway without hesitating. "Chill," Josef grinned. Cevil was aware that KJ was smirking too.
Cevil watched as Josef entered calmly. There weren't any bodyguards following Josef, and Josef wasn't holding a gun. "Stay where you are," Cevil demanded, lifting his gun to show more threats. Josef exchanged glances with KJ who nodded at him. Josef didn't seem to be bothered, he continued and made his way to them, "You may shoot," He was still smiling. Then he made a turn around the sofa and reached the other side of the bed, standing right beside Cevil. "Back away!" Cevil growled, immediately jumping off the bed, standing opposite Josef. As Josef stepped forward, Cevil stepped backwards, almost leaning against the wall. Josef chuckled. Nervously, Cevil glanced at KJ, signaling for help, but KJ ignored, still sitting on the bed watching them, as if it was a movie. It had been a few seconds when Josef suddenly knocked the gun off Cevil's hand then caught it with the other hand.
Unable to react, Cevil allowed Josef to fire the gun at him. As he closed his eyes, there was a clicking sound of the trigger. His mind was completely blank and empty, and all he heard was whispering that lasted for a couple of seconds. Slowly, he opened his eyes. A beam of light blinded his eyes, and during that time, he knew it. He had come to heaven, where he had always heard from fairytales and never trusted that it existed. Although he was told that heaven existed in the sky, bright and colorful, he didn't expect the brightness to be that blinding.
"Blyat," Cevil cursed, his classmates had taught him that word. He covered his eyes, "Why is heaven extremely dazzling?"
The light suddenly disappeared and Cevil's vision was almost black, due to the brightness that shone into his eyes earlier. He rubbed his eyes with his sleeve and blinked, lowering his hand to examine the surroundings. A man was standing in front of him with an aquarium view behind. It was quite familiar. Then he took a closer look at the man as his vision got clearer and better. "Middle-sized, green eyes, brown hair and-" Cevil whispered to himself.
He stepped backwards, "Josef?" he stammered. His puzzle didn't last long. This time he reacted fast.
Immediately, Cevil lashed out, kicking Josef in his stomach, but Josef wasn't weak too. Josef turned sideways, with Cevil's foot missing by several centimeters. Cevil struck again, throwing his fist into Josef's face. Josef chuckled as he backed away. Cevil scowled and dived under to catch Josef's legs as Josef attempted to punch him. Josef was hurled to the ground with Cevil following, grabbing his legs tightly. Josef's hand loosened and the gun fell.
Cevil gave no chance, he snatched the gun and crouched over Josef, almost sitting on his stomach, who was watching in disbelief. "If you move, this time, I'll really shoot," Cevil muttered quietly, his trembling fingers were already on the trigger. He wouldn't give Josef another chance to attack. Josef chuckled again which disgusted Cevil, he hated the chuckling of Josef, it sounded very arrogant and hateful.
Someone applauded, his claps filling the room. Cevil had thought it was KJ, but as he turned around carefully to check, KJ was sitting still on the bed, laughing quietly. His eyes shifted around to scan for someone.
Fate.
He was clapping, amused by everything that had happened earlier. Then as he stepped into the room, three pairs of eyes focused on him, everyone remaining silent, waiting for him to speak.
