A young adult, approximately Cevil's age entered the room in a motorized wheelchair, maneuvering it with the controls of his fingertips. Despite facing Cevil, it was difficult to discern his face due to the distance and the limited opening in the doorway. The teenager took a glance around, as if expecting to find someone in the room. The teenager stopped for a while, somehow Cevil had a feeling that the teenager felt disappointed but relaxed at the same time. Then, the teenager turned his wheelchair around and withdrew himself from the room.
Cevil pushed the wardrobe door open and decided to continue exploring the room. Forgetting about the photo, he headed in what looked like the kitchen. There wasn't a door or anything that required a code or key, and he entered the kitchen easily. The moment he stepped into the kitchen, there was another beeping sound. At first, he thought that he had activated a sensor, and it was a trap. Nothing happened, then he heard the same familiar sound of the motorized wheelchair. But there were also footsteps. There was nowhere to hide. Cevil was too big to hide in any of the kitchen cabinets or fridge. He stood where he was, leaning against the wall like he was attached to it.
"Well, ängstlich??" a female voice sighed.
"Ich weiß es nicht-" a voice of a young male adult that sounded even familiar said with uncertainty. "It's been a year, and now that I'm in this condition..." the voice ebbed away. He maneuvered his wheelchair forward and stopped, turning his head around. "Jemand war schon einmal hier."
"Could it be dad? Or the servants?"
"Perhaps."
There was a moment of silence before Cevil was aimed at with a pocketknife.
"Wer sind Sie?" exclaimed a young female adult.
"Wait, no! Wait!" exclaimed Cevil. "Konrad got me here!" He stumbled backwards. She peered at him with shrewd eyes, reluctant to lower her threatening knife. Cevil pointed at himself, "I, Konrad, come," he tried explaining. She lowered her knife, "I speak English." she paused, "Cevil, are you?"
"You wanted to meet me?" Cevil asked.
"No, my brother did."
"By the way, I'm May," she introduced herself as they made their way out of the kitchen. Someone was sitting on the Osaki massage chair, and they walked up to him silently.
Cevil's eyes widened in disbelief and his jaw dropped, a jolt of shock coursed through him. He blinked a couple of times, unable to believe his eyes.
"Marco!" Cevil whispered with great vehemence. "You're alive?"
"I was never dead," Marco replied with a smile. Cevil dashed forwards and embraced him.
"Where had you been?" asked Cevil after he settled himself beside Marco. Marco took a sip of his juice. "Here, all the time." "But I'd like to know why you'd manage to find your way to Germany. Had I even mentioned?"
"Sorry?"
"The clues I left for you and Kent that led you to Berry, McDonalds then our base and the video. But I've never mentioned that I was in Germany. Whence you got your idea I was in German? This isn't a coincidence, is it?"
"Video? Your clues led us to Richie's concert." Cevil shifted uneasily on the chair, "I almost got killed, and- and Konrad kidnapped me!"
"Richard's concert? That's absurd! I had never mentioned that!"
"You wrote 'I nodded off, when the teacher called me awake, 'What's 9 minus 3 plus 8?'' That's the lyrics of Richard's song, and he was about to hold a concert in Germany, so we came."
Marco looked bewildered, then he laughed, "No, I think you'd mistaken. I was borrowing the lyrics of Richard, but the main point is to tell you that '9 minus 3 plus 8' equals fourteen, which is our base." He shook his head. "I left another clue in our base, but I guess it isn't important anymore. Before I continue, would you like something to drink?
"Water would do," Cevil ran his tongue over his dry mouth. May headed into the larder and returned with warm water. Cevil nodded his thanks.
May retired herself.
