At last, the boys finished their dinner. Josef led Cevil to his bedroom then took KJ to a second bedroom, a card provided to open the door too. Cevil waited till Josef had left his room, then he began scanning his room for any secret cameras or eavesdroppers. Firstly, he checked underneath his bed, which he couldn't see anything, because there wasn't a gap between the floor and bed base. Then, he opened his wardrobe, throwing the clothes out and hanging them back inside. He opened the drawers and did the same, threw them onto the floor, checked among the clothes, the drawer, then crumbled the clothes and stuffed them into the wardrobe again. He created a disaster in the wardrobe, but he didn't care. Now, Cevil was going to sneak out of his room to KJ's, which was just beside.
He thought no one was watching him.
The device made a beeping sound as Cevil scanned his card, then the rock rumbled briefly, softly, and pushed itself open. He was fortunate that there wasn't anyone in the corridor, except for the two bodyguards at the far end of it, guarding the dining room. But they were too far to discover Cevil, creeping at the other end of the corridor. He sneaked out of his room. Cevil had checked the corridor earlier, when they made their way to the dining room. There weren't any cameras. Moving swiftly and quietly, he took a few steps to KJ's room, then tapped on the rock softly. No one responded. Cevil became anxious, afraid that someone would discover him anytime. He knocked on the rock slightly harder this time. All he could hear in the silent corridor was the rapping and his heartbeat. Fortunately, KJ heard it this time. As the rock swung itself open quietly, Cevil hurried into the room, then the rock shut itself tightly again. KJ's bedroom was identical to Cevil's. Exactly same place with the ocean view, same colored floor, same wardrobe, same bed. KJ was buttoning on a new shirt he found in the wardrobe when Cevil called him. Cevil glanced at the wardrobe with its doors open. Even the clothes inside were exactly the same as the ones in his room. "What's up?" KJ finished buttoning his shirt. Then he sat down on his bed and slumped against his pillows. Cevil rested beside him, but KJ pushed him away instantly, "Wait, you haven't taken a bath." He lifted a finger and pointed at Cevil. Cevil folded his arms, "Does it look like to you that there is a bathroom anywhere? You don't expect me to break the glass, then bathe in the ocean, do you?" He pointed at the ocean. KJ smiled, then he reached into his pocket and pulled his room card out. KJ gestured for Cevil to lean over to have a closer look. At first, Cevil didn't notice anything. A plain black card and nothing else, that was all he saw. But as KJ shifted his finger and pressed on a part of it, Cevil was aware that there was a very flat, square button, black in color too. KJ pressed it, barely using any strength, the wall beside his bed slid open and disappeared. A bathroom was revealed, quite simple but huge. A bathtub in one corner, a shower head in the other corner. The shower place had a sheet of glass defending it, separating it with the toilet. Beside the bathtub, there was a sink with two temperatures – hot and cold. Other than that, there was a wardrobe, inside stacked with folded towels, and a laundry basket filled with KJ's worn clothes beside the toilet. It was the same as the rooms. It was lit inside, but by lights that were invisible, or hidden.
"Would you like to have a bath here? Or you may get back to your own room and have a bath there, then come here and have a chat with me." KJ pressed the button and the wall slammed close. "I'm not here for chatting. They don't know that I crept out of my room and came here. If I waste my time going back to bathe, I'm afraid I'll alarm them," Cevil went around the bed, then half knelt beside KJ, one of his hands resting on the bed. "Can you understand German?" Cevil asked, at the same time praying in his heart that KJ would know. "Yes, but why?" KJ replied. He looked half-surprised by this question. "Can you translate a sentence for me? You know, my phone was taken by Konrad. The sentence is-" Cevil thought for a second, "Hat Marco gegessen?" He imitated Konrad's words, including the tone and accent. "Why?" KJ repeated. Cevil sighed.
"Alright. Remember the story I told you? My friend Marco suddenly disappeared, and he left clues. I don't know why, but I feel like the Marco that Konrad mentioned was the Marco that I knew..." Cevil's voice came from the black speaker that was placed beside a huge desktop on Konrad's desk. Konrad frowned, his face stern and serious.
"It looks like he already knows something," Konrad said quietly.
"Do we have to do anything about that?" Josef asked.
"Brother?" Fate asked, waiting for a reply.
"So, you think Marco is in Germany? Here?" KJ asked, his voice filling the room through the speaker. No one spoke for a couple of seconds. "I mean, but why would Marco be in Germany?" KJ said. Cevil didn't reply. "Alright, fine, it means, 'Has Marco eaten?'" KJ explained. Then everything went silent, neither Cevil nor KJ spoke.
"Do we have to do anything about that?" Konrad repeated what Josef asked.
"No." came a quiet reply.
