Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Perspective Sefton Caleb

The rest of the boat ride was likely to go of without a hitch but I need to make sure we are well prepared. So it's time I bring out the adamantite bracelets they aren't heavy without Dellanima in them but they should do decent enough for the month left on this boat.

"You've all had time to adjust and get used to this so it's about time you put these on adamantite bracelets one for each arm and leg." Sefton said pulling them out of my bag and putting them in front of each person.

"These are really heavy feels like carrying a small fridge isn't this a little much?" Pace asked.

"Unfortunately not and these aren't even heavy you'll need to be able to walk and even fight in full adamantite by the time we are in the capital if you hope to survive their training." Sefton said clearly even though after a month of hard physical work eating and sleeping well and even healing so they didn't need to recover much even still not enough.

"Seriously this is not going to be fun is it." Maximillian said.

"A full month of this should be enough to handle walking and training in full adamantite. Also don't bother using Dellanima to cheat it only makes the stuff heavier we use this to contain most with three soul colours." Sefton said the physical training alone to reach even a decent level of physicality for this world would be challenging at best.

Perspective Pace Tory

A full month of training and doing exercise in those bracelets we finally make landfall but now we move onto full adamantite this was how we would walk to the capital. From here on out we would walk run eat hunt and train even meditate in these suits of armour.

"This is insane like wearing a huge fridge no perhaps a really small car." Pace said already almost sweating from the ridiculously heavy armour.

"Don't worry it shouldn't be hard to reach the capital after another month but I'd be shocked if their wasn't another spot of trouble from the good doctor and his deadly friend." Sefton said as they all walked of the ship even Brycen and Austin were wearing them even though they technically didn't have to.

"Lord Sefton and great saviours I Admiral Devon humbly greet you." Devon said.

"Yes, yes whatever have a good day we will be walking their so they meet the physical standards of the academy." Sefton said.

"Understood Lord." Devon said bowing his three soul colours red, blue and purple pulsing around even after all the skill we had gained it was still hard to see and sense speaking volumes about the gap still left to cover.

"If I may be so bold I shall insure you arrive and have accommodations benefiting you all Lieutenant Justin attention!" Devon barked a large well built man with the symbol of waves all over his uniform and had stood out a small number 3 on his breast pocket.

"You will ensure that these fine ladies and gentlemen get proper meals sleep and overall insure they remain in high spirit and moral is this understood!" Devon barked.

"Yes admiral it would be my honour and pleasure admiral!" Justin yelled back with his full chest.

"Good man now go and do your duty and do it well!" Devon yelled saluting Justin with a strange a gesture that looked like he was miming to break a rope.

"Yes admiral thank you admiral!" Justin yelled back saluting back with the same gesture running off to just behind us.

"Welcome to the port city of Screams." Sefton said.

"I'm sorry this place is called the port city of Screams why would it have such an unsettling name?" Maximillian asked.

"Simple this is were... were we found the survivor." Sefton said remembering the sound of near unending screams most believed it was the souls of those that had died in the blast that made the sea of boiling stone. He would even now shiver at the idea of the only survivor that had been directly hit by the attack was the only thing screaming.

"Survivor?" Miss Agatino asked already feeling like this was soft territory.

"Their were many in the radius of the attack that made the sea of boiling stone but only one directly hit that survived. It was his screams that this place despite all the positive thing's it could be named after it was ultimately named." Sefton said remembering the sound of the haunting screams in his bones.

Despite the rather scary name and the rather obvious fact that survivor was probably dead the city was incredible far more than dragon stone a massive place that had many from almost every race living their. The culture seemed rich the food the smells the diversity of the people here was immense. I had assumed that since this world was primitive compared to my old one that hybrids between races would be shunned. Maybe in other places but here their were tons it was beautiful like seeing all the kinds of people you could all in one place. This city was a true hive mind massive and accepting of people of all types, shades and races.

About an good hour of walking later I couldn't help my curiosity and had to question him "So what does that weird thing you do mean the one that looks like your miming tearing rope?" Pace asked curious.

"It's our salute a show of deep respect and thanks its meant to look like your breaking a chain." Justin said.

"If I may ask why?" Pace asked very interested.

"Blaire is known as the chain breaker the one who single handedly ended slavery almost 500 years ago it's a way to show our respect to him the former slaves made to show thanks however they could." Justin said the deep respect and even thankfulness seemed to permeate from him.

"Really that's incredible I knew Blaire was going to be an incredibly important guy but that's an insane thing to do alone." Pace said already feeling like Blaire had indeed earned his title as strongest mortal.

"Exactly the point it's truly amazing how we were so lucky to have such a man as our Great Lord." Justin said pride in his eyes.

"How important is Blaire anyway? Like beyond his status as the strongest mortal." Pace asked.

"He is the only person more important to the human empire than both the empirical religious leader the Pixel and the emperor himself." Justin said.

"That's insane we knew he was strong but to be so important too he's on a whole other level in every way." Maximillian said unable to hold back indeed Blaire had an incredible life story and an even more immense power and influence.

"It's even known that in other countries like the Dwarven Elven alliance he stands above their leaders the Elf Queen and the Dwarf Lords. Even in the land of dragons he stands unchallenged with the dragon king bending the knee." Justin said it was clear just how soundly Blaire stood above the rest this showed that even if his enemy had the same Dellanima he seemed to have a style that gave him the upper hand.

"That really is something else." Carbry said also pitching in.

Perspective Doctor Despair

"Seems like Sefton may be helping the hero's I can't think of anyone else that could defeat two strong three coloured vampires alone." Doctor Despair said noticing how the Dellanima of the person who killed the vampires was largely one person.

"Don't be too surprised we knew this would happen sooner or later luckily I have a blessed one at the port city of Screams. To be specific one with a very powerful blessing the blessing of time that should be enough to stall them a few days." Deadly Desire said looking at a white orb in her hand those with blessings were not so few in their ranks they couldn't spare one but those with a powerful blessing were. In short this was the only option or idea she had to buy Doctor Despair time to get enough of his monsters together to stand a chance against the much stronger hero's and Sefton.

"Seems like a waste of a strong blessing to place it on someone with only one soul colour." Doctor Despair said.

"That's the point it's purely to buy time besides you have that big white orb so it'll just go back into that. If you want give some weaker ones to the monsters you send after the hero's perhaps three beasts with a decent blessing for Sefton." Deadly Desire said reminding him of something they hadn't planned on using since they didn't believe they would warrant it before they sure do now.

"Fine it's a plan then." Doctor Despair said.

The blessing of time not very strong against those with seven colours and it's only use was to make those in an area lose time and forget the day before. The blessing of time was only useful for stalling and that's all it could do and against those with a curse it had no effect meaning this was the best situation for the ability. Overall it was strong it could make your enemy forget everything about your fighting style but this was the situation in which it was strongest. All it needed to do was buy time so Doctor Despair could gather the monsters best for the job after that the user could die and Doctor Despair would weaken and change the blessing to share it among his monsters.

Perspective Maximillian Titanius

We looked around enjoying our time as much as we could in that armour after that we left the city and found the great wall of the human empire. This wall was built by humans who wanted to keep other species out of the empire back when it was first made. It was imposing and clearly designed to be sturdy and strong large massive stone like metal were the bricks. It seemed to be designed not just to be hard to destroy but easy to rebuild and replace with countless runes pulsing what appeared like a techno neon sticks on the bricks. It was clearly well designed for each and every eventuality the designers could think of.

"This is really something." Max said looking at all the guards and how most had a soul colour.

"I am general Jen a pleasure Lord Sefton and a pleasure to be of services hero's." Jen said her uniform had a design of a wall with the number 8 on it.

"Good day as always a pleasure." Sefton said walking through.

"If I may be so bold as to send one of mine to ensure comfort?" Jen asked Sefton simply pointed back to Justin.

"I see good day and good luck on your journey." Jen said the massive door on the wall opening we had walked a good hour to get to the wall and it was worth it her soul colours of red, yellow and orange a thin film around her.

After that we kept going till dark getting used to the armour a bit. So we went to sleep the next day arrived and we did the same and we would continue to do so for a month till we reached the capital.

"What is the capital even called?" Carbry asked.

"Lands folly." Sefton said simply with a hint of amusement at the name.

"Lands folly is it called that for a reason?" Max asked.

"Yes it's were the former dragon king and Blaire had their legendary fight almost 200 years ago." Sefton said.

"So the former dragon kings name was Land." Pace said unimpressed.

"To dragons to be named after the main attribute you control from your soul colour is the highest honour add that to the fact only two or three dragons with brown soul colour exist at the same time his rarity can be imagined." Sefton said.

"Wait so this former dragon king wasn't just a true lord but he also had the brown soul colour no wonder he was the dragon king the highest talent and being a true lord must have made him a monster." Miss Agatino said shivering at the idea she knew how hard it was to use the brown soul colour and everyone knew those with the colour were rare so to have it and be a true lord made it clear he must be immensely powerful.

"The more important thing is Blaire won without using a single spell." Sefton said remembering just how fearsome the battle was having seen some of it though not sure how close it was since he was so much weaker than the fighters.
