As made his way itno the academy , he noticed that it wasnt all that magical. Sure , it had special magic training facilities and such , but it looked like any campus , just in a medieval style.
"I have to say... This is underwhelming" He said as he walked around.
Seeing there was nothing worth seeing , he decided to leave. He went back to the gate and gave the card back to the old lady "Thank you for the card , miss"
"its nothing , young man"
And so , Silas left the academy.
He then procedeed to head to the auction house , which was said to be the most popular place in the entire town.
After some walking and talking with locals , he finally arrived. The auction house was much more impressive than the academy , with beautiful details made from gold and towers surrounding it filled with guards
"Huh... Its safe to say that the auction house brings the most profit to the town... Anyways , lets head in" Silas said as he walked inside.
The auction house was filled with beautiful showcases of artifacts , magic scrolls and beautiful cosmetics.
"Wow... Now this is impressive , unlike the academy."
Silas , overwhelmed by the countless treasures , walked over to the receptionist. He was a tall man with beautiful white hair and red eyes
"Hello" Said Silas
"Oh , hello there sir!" Said the man "You dont look like youre from around here , would u like to register as a member? Its 5 silver for the basic membership and 1 gold for-"
"T-the Basic membership will do , thanks" Silas said with a trembling voice , dumbfounded by the hefty price of the membership. He handed the man 5 silver and got his card in return
"Alright , the big corridor to my left leads to the ongoing auctions. Please keep in mind that auctions happen 2 times a day at random hours , and no fighting is allowed , no matter what happens" Said the man
"Understood" Answered Silas
"Also , whenever an auction begins , you card will shine a fairly bright gold colour , so also keep that in mind" The man added
"gotcha , well then , Mr receptionist , i will be going to the auction now"
"Its Nakato. have a good time Mr...?"
"Its Silas , good bye nakato"
"Likewise!"
And so , Silas went to the concurrent auction to see how expensive things could trully get.
After making his way through the long hallway , Silas finally arrived at the big room where an auction was being held. He walked inside.
The inside looked like a theater. Silas made his way through the seats and found an empty one. He sat down and began watching
"The next item will be Archun-the-Virtuoso's staff , a slightly damaged staff that belonged to one of the greatest ice mages of the previous generation! The starting bid will be 4 platinum coins!" Said a woman from a... Speaker? those exist too apparently
"4 platinum , huh... I remember the teacher saying something about this world's currency... What was it?"
The currency went like this. Copper -> Silver -> Gold -> Platinum -> Diamond -> Amethyst , and each 'coin' was worth 10x the previous one. For example , 10 gold = 1 platinum.
"Right... 4 platinum is crazy expensive for a staff , yet , people are bidding on it... Is that Archun guy really that famous? I can ask later."
After that staff , nothing important appeared so Silas took his leave.
Now outside , Silas , having nothing else to do and getting bored of exploring , decided to do another combat quest.
"Dang... The guild is pretty far. Whatever , cant really do anything about it. Mio , here i come!"
And so , Silas left again.
