Silas , now having become a novice mage , decided that it was time for some real combat experience.
He arrived at the guild after messing around with his new magic.
"Hey , im back for more quests!" Said sillas to the girl receptionist
"I see- Oh?" The girl sensed a faint feeling of mana around sillas "I see someone has awakened? Good job!"
"Oh , thank you very much!... So , are there combat quests for unregistered people like me?" Asked silas with determination
"Indeed there are , althought they arent that hard nor profitable , combat quests are the best method to make money as a unregistered adventurer"
"Perfect! Well then , see you in a bit!" He said as he rushed over to the bulletion board to look for more quests
"wow , such determination..." Mumbled the girl
Silas was looking through the bulletin board until... "Hm? Bingo! Hunt three... Spore-kin? Hm... I should ask the receptionist what they are..."
He walked back to the girl "Im back... and with a question!"
"So soon , huh?" Said the receptionist "What is it?"
"What are spore-kin?"
"Spore-kin? Theyre a race of fungi-like monsters with the size of a toddler. They move around in groups so usualy mages hunt them , also , theyre very weak to fire"
"Is that so? Then i'd like to accept this quest!" Silas said as he handed over the Hunting quest
"Sure!" The girl said as she took the quest and scanned it "Also , one thing i forgot to mention" The girl said "They can be found in lush forests around rivers and lakes"
"I see... well then , thank you!" Said silas as he waved to the girl and walked out.
"Lets see... If i remember correctly i walked through a lush forest when i was heading towards this village for my first time... I should trace my steps back to there" Said silas as he began his new-found Hunting Job

"Im finally here... phew , im tired." Silas said as he looked towards the entrance to the lush forest he had first walked through "Lets go inside i guess"
He walked inside. While walking , he began pondering.
"Now that i think about it... How come none of those 'Spore-kin' didnt attack me when i first went through here?... How weird."
Some time later , Silas found a flowing river. "Bingo" He said as he began walking down it.
After walking for a bit , he stumbled upon a Spore-kin nest. It looked like a giant mushroom with a glowing stem.
"This must be it." He noticed some spore-kin walking around "Yeah , definetly , those must be spore-kin... How should i do this..."
He began imagining scenarions in his head...
"Loud and aggressive? No , thats too risky... Calm and quiet?... Impossible with magic... I know , i should get to highground and shoot magic from there" He whispered to himself.
He climbed a tree. It seemed the mana had increased his physical capabilities along with magic since he climbed up fairly fast. "Woah... how cool... Anyways , focus silas , focus" He mumbled to himself
He lifted his hand and aimed towards the spore-kin's hideout "Lets see... Draw a magic circle in my imagination and focus..." He imagined a rain of fire. After some trial and error , The magic circle increased in size and appeared above the Big mushroom.
"N-nice , phew , thats tiring...~" He said , exhausted. "Now , lets see how this plays out..."
As Silas said that , a rain of fire began at the designated area. Although the fire was too weak to even damage the terrain too much , Due to the spore-kin's weakness to it , It melted right through them
"W-Woah... Thats so damn cool..."
After a short while , the fire finally stopped. "hm... The quest says to cut the spore-kins head... Alright then"
After some cutting and slashing , he finally managed to cut off all 45 heads. "Phew... i remember prof mentioning a magic backpack of sorts? Imagine a magic circle... and then a backpack..." As Silas said that , a magic circle appeared above the Spore-kin's heads and sucked them all in.
"So thats how it works , huh... How convenient" Silas said as he stood up and stretched "Yawn~ , I should head back and claim the rewards... might aswell get some sleep while im at it... Off i go to the town again!" Silas said in a singing tone as he began skipping back the way he came from.
