Chapter 31 - Ch-31 Past... (5)

It's been a long time both the Raikage and Ryo were at each other's throat and matter what happened, they still charged back to each other.

Raikage was mainly still fighting due to his great stamina and endurance, unrivaled all throughout the shinobi world.

Meanwhile Ryo, was still standing due to his large Chakra reserves and constant healing.

"Orochimaru... How long has it been since they were at it?", Jiraya asked hesitantly.

"2 hours 23 minutes...", Orochimaru replied slowly.

Meanwhile Tsunade had a worried expression on her face. Then she lashed out at a Jonin.

"How haven't you still found the goddamn radio jammer?!"

"Princess Tsunade.. We have found two... Their seemed to be way more than we thought. The Raikage came prepared!"

Tsunade bit her lips, as he continued watching the fight with stress.

Both Raikage and Ryo were Tired. The Raikage was still in better condition though.

"You going to lose....but I will give you chance....use your strongest move and I will use mine!", the Raikage shouted.

Ryo drew in a deep breath, his chest expanding painfully as every ribbon of fire around him began collapsing inward. The rising flames spiraled tighter and tighter toward his body, compressing until the blazing aura around him condensed into a dense sphere of heat. The color changed slowly.

Red.

Orange.

Yellow.

Then white.

The light grew blinding. Even the rain evaporated meters before touching him.

Across from him, the Third Raikage crouched low, lightning raging violently around his body. His eyes were sharp and ferocious even after hours of fighting, his breathing heavy but controlled. He extended four fingers forward as an overwhelming concentration of lightning gathered at the tips.

The Hell Stab.

The signature technique of the Raikage clan.

The ground beneath him cracked apart from the sheer force of the chakra building in his arm.

For a brief moment the battlefield fell silent except for rain hissing into steam.

Then both moved.

The Raikage launched forward like a bolt of lightning, his body tearing through the air as the Hell Stab shot straight toward Ryo's chest.

At the same instant Ryo inhaled one final time, his lungs burning as he forced every last drop of chakra into the flames.

"Ryo Style: Solar Epoch."

He exhaled.

A blinding torrent of white fire exploded from his mouth.

The moment the attacks collided the world seemed to erupt.

The Hell Stab plunged into the beam of solar fire, but the flames swallowed the Raikage instantly. The inferno wrapped around his body like the surface of a star.

Still he pushed forward.

Step by step.

The lightning cloak around his body screamed as it fought against the heat, but the flames were too intense. His clothes burned away first.

Then his hair ignited and vanished.

The skin across his arms and shoulders blistered instantly before turning black.

The Raikage roared and forced another step forward, muscles bulging as he drove the Hell Stab deeper into the inferno.

But the flames only grew hotter.

His skin cracked and peeled away under the heat.

Lightning flickered wildly across a body that was rapidly burning into something unrecognizable.

The smell of burning flesh filled the battlefield.

Still he refused to stop.

His arm kept pushing forward through the solar beam even as the flesh along it burned away to charred muscle.

'NO! THE PRIDE OF KUMOGAKURE WILL NOT STOP HERE! I WILL NOT STOP HERE!', The Raikage though in his mind.

Ryo's eyes were wide, blood pouring down his chin as the blazing torrent continued pouring from his mouth. His entire body shook violently under the strain.

Then the Raikage finally lost ground.

The white flames engulfed him completely.

His body blackened, his massive frame twisting as the inferno consumed him.

What remained of his lightning cloak shattered apart under the overwhelming heat.

With a thunderous blast, the burned and barely recognizable body of the Raikage was thrown backward.

He crashed through the wall of a distant building with a deafening impact, the structure collapsing around him in a storm of rubble.

The solar fire faded.

The battlefield suddenly went quiet except for the sound of rain.

Ryo staggered forward a single step, the thin flame escaping his mouth flickering weakly before dying out completely. His eyes lost focus as the strength left his body.

Then he collapsed face-first into the flooded street.

Steam slowly rose from the broken battlefield as both warriors finally lay still.
