Chapter 38: Departure

One month passed quickly. The appointment time with Belus was nearly here.

This day, Turles was training Raditz in the gravity chamber. After this month's intensive training, Raditz had not only perfectly mastered ki sensing but also gradually grasped ki suppression methods. His displayed battle power was merely 1,000—far below his true strength.

Suddenly, both training warriors simultaneously looked upward. Then Turles—as if remembering something—immediately led Raditz from the training room.

Exiting the training room, Turles's gaze was immediately drawn to a massive ship hovering in midair.

The ship looked like a giant rectangular box—appearing rather unremarkable, showing no signs of hyperspace capability.

The ship door opened. Belus emerged.

"Turles, my friend! How are you?"

Upon meeting, Belus enthusiastically greeted Turles as if they were longtime friends.

Turles was stunned by Belus's enthusiasm. But he quickly recovered, responding warmly: "Of course! My friend, you don't know how much I wanted to see you sooner!"

"Really? I'm truly honored!" Belus naturally didn't believe Turles's pleasantries. But his recent promotion was entirely thanks to Turles. So now he treated Turles almost like his own father.

Turles naturally didn't know that recruiting him had gotten Belus promoted within the Mercenary Union. He only wanted to see if this ship truly was the hyperspace vessel Belus described.

Seeming to read Turles's thoughts, Belus didn't waste words, directly leading Turles into the ship.

Though externally unremarkable, the ship's interior was fully equipped. Whether living quarters or training areas, every facility was available.

"Mr. Turles, this is our Mercenary Union headquarters' hyperspace ship. According to your requirements, we searched for information about Earth you mentioned. Though located at the North Galaxy's edge, at hyperspace ship speeds, approximately two weeks suffices."

"Additionally, the Namekian you hoped to invite—we've extended the invitation. He's agreed to depart with you. After departing, we'll briefly stop at Planet Mokka."

"Planet Mokka? Is that Deru's planet's name?" Turles suddenly interrupted Belus's introduction.

Belus looked at Turles strangely, confused: "You didn't know?"

Seeing Turles nod, though still puzzled, Belus continued: "Planet Mokka is a giant planet similar in size to Red Stone, located in Galactic Center's northern region, under Galactic Patrol jurisdiction. Because the Namekian community has many strong people—quite a few with battle power exceeding 100,000—their reputation in Galactic Center is significant."

"Then you dared let space pirates attack Planet Mokka and abduct their people?" Turles felt curious. If Namekian battle power wasn't weak, why would these people provoke them?

Hearing that, Belus smiled bitterly: "Would you believe me if I said I didn't know about this?"

Turles looked at Belus with contempt, giving him a "you figure it out" expression.

Belus was helpless. Finally, he explained the truth.

Turns out that pirate group truly wasn't directed by Belus. The mastermind was a high-ranking Mercenary Union executive's son. This guy—relying on his father's position—had secretly controlled several space pirate teams, engaging in planet and slave trading. Reportedly, even Frieza had some cooperation with him.

Previously, this guy only targeted weak species. Unexpectedly this time, he'd aimed at Namekians—allowing Turles to encounter Deru searching for clan members.

Even Belus was somewhat shocked by this guy's audacity. But this time, he should thank him—otherwise Belus wouldn't have been promoted so quickly due to Turles's connection.

Turles hadn't expected such circumstances. Seems wherever you go, one or two daddy-cheating existences always appear.

But regarding Belus's words, Turles didn't fully believe them. Saying Belus was completely ignorant would insult his intelligence. At minimum, he'd chosen a default attitude. Otherwise, Deru wouldn't have experienced those ten arena battles.

Otherwise, immediately after Turles dealt with that slave trading post, Belus wouldn't have rushed over. If not for Turles's strength deterring him, the result might have differed!

Regarding these matters, Turles had long been prepared. After all, this world was survival of the fittest. Wasn't his desperate training precisely to avoid becoming that "weak one"?

After thinking this through, watching Belus's harmless smile, Turles also showed a meaningful smile.

Next, both tactfully skipped this topic, continuing to tour the hyperspace ship.

After touring, Turles nodded with satisfaction.

Though lacking a gravity training room, everything necessary was present. Moreover, the ship's construction material was the universe's "hardest" metal—Katchin steel.

Just thinking that in half a month he could visit Earth, Turles felt excited. Plus, bringing Deru along, he could conveniently visit Namek—whether Dragon Balls or the Grand Elder's potential unlocking, his strength would definitely see major improvement during the coming period.

One hour later, Turles and Belus had inspected the entire ship top to bottom. After confirming no issues, this hyperspace ship belonged to Turles for the next two months.

Belus had specially requested this for Turles—partly thanking him, cultivating their relationship, partly hoping Turles could speak favorably before Deru.

Though Belus didn't fear Namekians, they still represented considerable trouble. Plus, now there was Turles— with 800,000+ battle power. These factors forced Belus to reconsider his attitude toward Namekians.

Regarding this point, Turles readily agreed. Not only did Belus's relationship need continued maintenance, but he also needed to bring Deru to Namek seeking the Grand Elder. He believed Deru's people would give him this face.

Finally, Turles and Belus exited the ship. Turles needed to prepare supplies—after all, over half a month's journey. Meanwhile, Belus was dragged by Paragus—who'd heard the news—to discuss finding surviving Saiyans.

The next day, Turles boarded the ship with Raditz and Karl's group, departing toward the North Galaxy. He would finally meet Dragon Ball world's protagonist—Goku!
