Chapter 39: Meeting Deru Again
Aboard the Hyperspace Ship.
Turles wasn't staying in the training room. Instead, he and Raditz enthusiastically watched Karl's group operating the vessel.
This hyperspace ship truly lived up to being the Mercenary Union's treasured possession. Its flight speed couldn't be compared to their regular ship at all. In less than half a day, they'd already reached Deru's planet—Planet Mokka.
The ship hovered in Planet Mokka's outer orbit. Through the windows, several people gazed at the planet outside.
A planet colored green with hints of blue slowly rotated—like a green gemstone.
Turles discovered Planet Mokka and Red Stone Planet were truly similar aside from color. Indeed, as Belus had said, it was a giant planet. Moreover, based on Turles's memories, Planet Mokka's ecological environment should closely resemble Namek from his recollections.
Furthermore, according to Turles's ki sensing, Planet Mokka's people might not be as simple as Belus described. Battle power signatures exceeding 100,000 alone numbered in double digits. One particular signature exceeded 200,000.
"Interesting!"
After continuing to observe a while, Turles seemed to sense something. His lips curved slightly. He ordered Karl to begin landing.
Receiving orders, Karl immediately controlled the ship's descent toward Planet Mokka.
The ship broke through the atmosphere. Friction with air made the vessel tremble slightly. From Planet Mokka's surface, one could see a massive fireball descending toward the ground.
BOOM!
The ship landed safely without incident. As the hatch opened, two figures gradually appeared—precisely Turles and Raditz.
This trip to Earth, Turles had unexpectedly not brought Broly along. Instead, he'd chosen Raditz.
Besides Raditz being Goku's older brother, Turles also had his own ulterior motive—he wanted to see if the current Raditz, having mastered ki sensing, would still deliver that classic line. This counted as Turles's mischievous interest.
As both exited the ship, unsurprisingly, they were immediately surrounded by Planet Mokka's Namekians.
Turles didn't speak, just examining the several Namekians who'd appeared. Among them, two Namekians' auras—though feeling not particularly strong—vaguely gave Turles a sense of threat.
Both having experienced extinction crises, current Saiyans couldn't compare to these Namekians before them. Not just in quantity—in quality, aside from Broly and Turles, there was no comparison.
Even though Raditz and Paragus's battle power had greatly improved, they still couldn't match these several Namekians. Not to mention on Namek itself existed a combat-type Namekian—Nail—and from Turles's memories, the Super Namekian—Slug!
However, Turles held confidence in the Saiyans' future. Not mentioning others—just the four of them: himself, Broly, Goku, and Vegeta could support the Saiyans' future.
Seeing the Namekians before him still guarding against them, Turles broke the silence first: "I'm Turles, Deru's friend. I had an agreement with Deru on Obsidian!"
"Turles? The Saiyan Deru mentioned?"
"Should be. I heard the Elder say Saiyans have tails. See—aren't those around their waists Saiyan tails?"
"So what do we do now? Still capture them? Deru said this Turles has considerable battle power!"
"Let's see what Guru says."
"Right, you're correct!"
"..."
Hearing his clansmen's discussion, the Namekian named Guru had to step forward—precisely one of the two who'd given Turles that sense of threat.
Guru approached Turles. First examining the Saiyan before him, he found he was indeed young as Deru described. Moreover, his body showed no aura fluctuations. Even his excellent spiritual awareness couldn't sense any ki. But that volcano-eruption-like oppressive feeling constantly reminded him—this Saiyan wasn't simple.
"Hello, I'm Guru! I've heard Deru mention you." Guru first introduced himself, then explained: "Due to the previous space pirate invasion, our people are somewhat vigilant. I hope this won't affect our two races' friendship."
Turles glanced at Guru, only then discovering this Namekian was extremely tall. Surprised, he said: "Hasn't that matter been resolved? The Mercenary Union already provided compensation. Didn't you receive it?"
"As I thought! I knew the Mercenary Union was involved!"
"That's right—I knew those people had no good intentions. Space travelers are all untrustworthy!"
"How can you say all are untrustworthy? Isn't this Saiyan our friend?"
"Don't slander people baselessly—I didn't say this Saiyan!"
"..."
Hearing Turles's words, all present Namekians became exceptionally angry, beginning to continuously curse the Mercenary Union.
"Enough!" Guru interrupted his clansmen's discussion, then told Turles: "Turles, welcome to Planet Mokka. However, next you'll probably need to visit our Elder. Coincidentally, Deru is also there receiving the Elders' guidance."
"Fine, I'll follow your arrangements!" Turles nodded. He and Raditz followed behind Guru's group, flying toward the Namekian Elders' residence.
Everyone's strength was decent. Flight speed was quick. In less than ten minutes, Turles saw a settlement with distinctively Namekian characteristics.
Currently, quite a few Namekians resided in this settlement—approximately three to four thousand people. Perhaps the space pirates' previous attack had traumatized them, prompting them to gather their people together.
Turles and Raditz followed Guru before several white bone-like structures—precisely the Namekian Elders' dwellings.
Guru had already entered to notify their Elder. Turles and Raditz examined these buildings.
These structures were entirely polished from some giant beast's bones. They looked remarkably similar to the Grand Elder's dwelling on Namek from Turles's memories. Moreover, Turles vaguely remembered Piccolo also lived in this style of house. Seems these Namekians possessed unified aesthetic preferences.
Soon, Guru emerged from the building. Deru followed behind him, looking at Turles with an excited expression.
"Turles, you finally came! I thought you'd forgotten our agreement!"
While speaking, Deru excitedly embraced Turles.
"How could that be? You're my friend!" Turles patted Deru's back, smiling in response.
Since their last parting, approximately two months had passed. Hearing Turles had arrived, Deru was extremely happy.
Not only because he'd already recognized Turles as a friend—more importantly, Turles's arrival also meant he could soon visit the North Galaxy's Namek to see the Grand Elder.
After exchanging pleasantries briefly, Deru finally led both Turles and Raditz inside the house to meet their Elder.
"Elder, the Saiyan friend I mentioned has arrived!"
Deru approached a massive chair. First respectfully bowing to an elderly Namekian, then leaning close to whisper near the old Namekian's ear.
Hearing Deru's words, the elderly Namekian slowly opened his eyes, using those clouded eyes to look toward both Turles and Raditz.
