Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Submission Seal

Mater's claw extended from his paw and he scratched it on the blank seventh page.

"Dark Whispers are very useful but I am a cat at the moment. It is not guaranteed that the spell would even be effective if I can't speak their language.

Crow's Call doesn't have this weakness. This is the right choice."

Mater drew a crow with an unusually long beak on the seventh page. When he finished, colors flooded the sketch, showing a black crow with red eyes in the middle of the page.

The new spell was registered.

[Crow's Call]

[Effect]: You can make the noise of a crow from the underworld. The living cannot hear this noise. All undead or spirits in a 30-meter radius around you are flooded with endless cawings of crows which cause disorientation for 6 seconds.

[Cooldown]: 30 seconds

"It is done…

The spell is boosted just like Chaos Eyes and Nether Shot. The cool-down is lowered from one minute to 30 seconds. And the effective radius doubled.

How interesting. Cats really are creatures of Chaos.

Now, moving on to my second artifact."

Warlock's three artifacts were the Dark Grimoire, the Submission Seal, and the Demonic Arsenal.

Similar to the Dark Grimoire, Submission Seal also had three versions.

While the Dark Grimoire took power from its original book, which was Fear, Rage, and Despair. The Submission Seal applied an overlay aspect onto the creature. Each aspect represented a type of energy.

The Infernal Seal.

The Abyssal Seal.

The Glacial Seal.

The Infernal Seal had the power of hellfire. Any slave that would be engraved with this seal would have its entire being transformed into an Infernal Demon, a creature of the hell of flame.

The Abyssal Seal came from the bottomless void of darkness. It held the power of the Nether energy, similar to Nether Shot. Any slave with this seal would turn into an Abyssal Abomination, a creature of the hell of darkness.

The Glacial Seal had the power of true death. Any slave with this seal would turn into a Glacial Wight, a variation of the Undead that exists only in the hell of ice.

"Infernal Demon. Abyssal Abomination. And Glacial Wight.

The power of hellfire, nether of the void, and ice of death.

Of all three of these powers. Nether is the most destructive. Hellfire is the most aggressive. And Ice of Death is the most oppressive."

Mater waved his paw as the page flipped to the fifth page, where the bloodwraith was trapped.

[Scarlet-Ox Fury]

[Description]: A rage-inducing spirit that was murdered. Its soul stays in the living world to become a weapon for its killer.

[Rank]: 1

[Level]: 5

[Spells]:

- Rib-Cage: Summons a giant ribcage from the ground to trap the enemy.

- Bone Spikes: Summon bony spikes at an area to strike at the enemy.

- Bull Rush: Transform into a bull and charge at the enemy. Temporarily gain major resistance to all disabling effects.

[Passive Ability]: Blood Coat

- Blood Coat: A thick layer of blood on the skin, lowers all physical damage received. Gain minor resistance to restraining effects.

"Fury… A spirit of rage. You are created by your previous master to feel rage and to be fueled by rage. But you are no longer theirs. You are mine.

Rage goes best with hellfire as it will make you even more powerful. You will know nothing but vengeance and hurt.

I don't like that. I don't like to put you through what your master wants you to be. I want you to be better than that.

What better to cool down the fire of rage with ice."

Mater closed his golden eyes and began to conjure the Glacial Seal.

The Submission Seal required no other materials but it needed twice as much Chaos Magic to make compared to the Dark Grimoire. All the Chaos that Mater had been able to accumulate, they were mostly gone now.

1550 kilometers of blood filled with magic reduced instantly, leaving only a few hundred kilometers left.

Mater felt the utmost tiredness washing over him. All the Chaos poured out of his body. The dark red matter formed a seal in front of him.

Above the undeveloped plot of land, clouds suddenly appeared. The temperature dropped. But it was in the middle of Summer. There wouldn't be any snow for at least a couple more months.

But that day, snow fell on Tora Street. The empty field of grass welcomed their first flake of snow in the year.

Selina reached her hand out to catch a puff of snow. The air suddenly became much colder causing Selina to shiver all over it. For some unknown reason, she had a feeling this was related to the stray black cat that she just adopted a few days ago.

The Institute of Supernatural Phenomenon went haywire. Everyone ran up and down, trying to figure out what was affecting the weather.

Agents of the Department of Supernatural Interference quickly suited up and went out in troops. They're prepared to go to war if such an NCE attacked the city.

In the Aeliz City Police Department, Alister picked up one phone call after another, trying to maintain order to this cursed city.

"What the hell is it this time?!" Alister couldn't help but groan.

Back in the sewer, a symbol was created. It floated slightly above Mater's head.

The Glacial Seal was a pure white rune that looked like a half cyclone with two clock hands on it.

Mater reached his paw out to catch the Seal. It seeped under his fur and became a part of him. There were two parts of any Submission Seal. The seal of the master and the seal of the slave.

Mater held both inside his paw. The seal of the master became one with him while the seal of the slave was ready to be slammed onto any poor soul.

"Now I am ready."

Mater tapped his fluffy paw onto the Dark Grimoire. The book stood up and aimed at the vast empty space in the middle, where the corpse of the frog was still lying.

"Scarlet-Ox Fury. I release you." Mater meowed.

The fifth page twisted and the leathery book shook. Red light shot out from the page as the bloodwraith from before rushed out.

It landed on the empty space next to the dead frog.

The wraith covered in blood slowly lifted its head. Its two long horns were dripping blood.

The bloodwraith saw the little creature that had defeated it last time.

"We have met again, Fury." Mater smirked. His fluffy paw stroked one of his white whiskers.
