Chapter 238 - 238: Destroying Marineford

"Not good."

Marco's expression changed instantly as he clashed with Borsalino. His face turned pale as he sensed something terribly wrong.

"Everyone, keep your minds clear!" Marco roared. "Do not let yourselves be controlled! Silver Dragon possesses an advanced form of Observation Haki that can manipulate emotions!"

His warning came too late.

In an instant, more than half the battlefield descended into madness.

Marines and pirates alike turned on one another near the Whitebeard Pirates' formation. Rage, despair, sorrow, and madness twisted their faces as if their minds had shattered.

Some charged their own allies.

Others dropped their weapons, clutching their heads as they screamed.

A few even ended their own lives.

The scene was broadcast live across the world.

Ninety nine percent of viewers were completely stunned.

"What's happening?"

"Why are the Whitebeard Pirates killing each other?"

"They're throwing away their weapons and crying."

"Some of them are committing suicide."

"Silver Dragon hasn't even attacked yet!"

"Is this really an advanced Observation Haki ability?"

"That kind of thing is supposed to be a legend!"

"Emotion manipulation?"

"After mastering Observation Haki, a handful of geniuses awaken extended abilities," someone explained. "Gol D. Roger could hear the Voice of All Things. Redfield could read memories and minds. Charlotte Katakuri can see the future. And this… is emotional domination."

"Silver Dragon is controlling their emotions. Those with weak wills have already collapsed."

"Anger, arrogance, despair, sorrow."

On screen, pirates and Marines alike moved like lunatics, unable to distinguish friend from foe.

"This is horrifying."

"Those who awaken extended Observation Haki abilities are even rarer than Haoshoku users."

"If Haoshoku appears once in a million people, then abilities like this might appear once in ten million."

"With a single glance, he turned numbers into nothing."

"Is this why he's called the strongest Admiral?"

"No."

"That's only part of it. His true terror lies in Silver Dragon himself. He is also the strongest Logia type Rumble Rumble Fruit user, capable of destroying heaven and earth."

The entire world watched the silver haired Admiral with dread.

To surpass the other three Admirals, absolute power was mandatory.

"Boom… crackle…"

Hovering in midair, Enel raised his right hand toward the sky. Lightning tore through the clouds, ripping space apart. The darkened sky suddenly froze, then twisted violently as thunder exploded.

A massive rotating vortex formed above Marineford.

"Get away from that area!"

"Admiral Silver Dragon is about to move!"

"All Marines, retreat immediately!"

The sky tilted and rotated slowly. Dense pillars of lightning blanketed Marineford as the world flickered between blinding white and absolute darkness.

It was a true doomsday.

Marine officers shouted desperately, ordering retreats.

"This isn't possible."

"He's controlling the weather itself."

"The sky… it's rotating."

In the Shichibukai camp, every face was filled with horror. Their scalps tingled, hearts pounding violently.

Every soul in Marineford felt it.

Crisis.

"Enel, are you trying to destroy Marineford?"

Sengoku stared at the twisted sky, his face filled with disbelief.

"Rumble…"

Lightning pillars thicker than ten meters slammed into the ground, instantly carving fifty meter craters filled with black smoke. The electric current filled the air, making hair stand on end and burn.

Enel smiled coldly as he pressed his right hand downward toward Whitebeard.

"Raikou."

The entire world looked up.

At the center of the rotating sky, a massive black sphere descended like a falling star. The surrounding atmosphere shattered like broken glass.

Everyone could feel the world destroying energy within it.

If it landed, Marineford would cease to exist.

"Enel, you bastard!"

Sengoku shouted as the world held its breath.

"Defend!"

"Form up!"

The Marines abandoned all offense, gathering together in desperate defense.

"Gurarara… Silver Dragon boy, you've given me quite the gift."

Whitebeard plunged his bisento into the deck. White pressure wrapped around his arms as he stared at the descending Raikou.

He grabbed the air itself.

Then he pulled.

The atmosphere tore apart as if ripped open, collapsing inward with earth shattering force. A blinding white halo exploded across Marineford.

The world closed its eyes.

In Marineford, countless people vanished into dust without even time to scream.

The frozen sea shattered into massive faults, rising into ice mountain tsunamis that reached the clouds. The island split apart, abyssal cracks spreading endlessly.

Marine Headquarters vanished.

"This can't be real."

"Marineford… it's gone."

When the storm ended, only the central plaza remained intact.

Everything else had collapsed into bottomless abysses.

Scorching magma faintly flowed within the depths.

Falling meant certain death.

Blood dripped from Whitebeard's mouth. Half his mustache was gone as he stared at Enel with a heavy gaze.

Enel also bled from the lips, his face pale, his aura unstable.

"As expected of the world's strongest man," Enel said coldly. "To block my attack so easily. But how many times can you endure it?"

He raised his hand again.

The sky began to twist once more.

"You've got to be kidding me."

"He can use it again?"

"This madman wants to drag everyone down with him!"

"Enel, stop!"

Sengoku finally lost his composure.

"Roar!"

A massive green figure leapt into the sky, wielding a wolf tooth club coated in dense Armament Haki. The air screamed as he swung toward Enel.

"So good," Enel said calmly. "Our unfinished battle continues."

Lightning wrapped around Enel's arm, forming a halberd infused with Armament Haki as he clashed head on with Ethan.

A massive shockwave erupted, forming a blinding halo.

Blue lightning and green energy flashed across the sky, reappearing thousands of meters away, then vanishing into the abyss beyond the battlefield.

The pressure lifted.

Marines, pirates, and viewers across the world all exhaled in relief.

That moment had been pure terror.

But one question remained.

Who was that green giant who dared block Silver Dragon?

And why did he not seem inferior?

The war did not stop.

Marineford returned to a slaughterhouse.

And from every angle, the Whitebeard Pirates were clearly at a disadvantage.
