The ores gotten from the bestiae carry the blessing of the beasts that bore them. These ores are then refined by those blessed with middle or high level attunement to the blessing of fire to be infused into a weapon. It is advised that those who wish to possess a weapon, should buy a weapon that matches their attributes for maximum output but to those who are blessed by the spirit of fire that rule is inapplicable. Hence, those blessed by the spirit of fire can only use fifty to seventy percent of their weapons' full potential.
Present
After taking apart a weapon from Averos, Princess Marina tried to analyze the material used to create the defensive barrier. Putting under her makeshift microscope, Princess Marina noticed that the defensive barrier was as thin as a piece of string and blue in color. Feeling the material used to make the defensive barrier, Marisa noted that the material wasn't hard or metalic. Skimming through book after book, Princess Marina couldn't find out the material's name or the origin of defensive barriers on weapons.
"How tight lipped are the Averosians?!" Princess Marina yelled in frustration as she tossed another book that had no information on the material's name or where it came from.
Breathing through her nose, Princess Marina tried to calm herself.
"I will learn about it when it's time." Princess Marina whispered to herself in the middle of her thinkering room.
Knocking once before opening the door, Lorraine curtzied before bowing.
"Have you picked a weapon for your spar practice with Rassera and her friends?" Lorraine asked Princess Marina.
"Not yet." Princess Marina said with a shake of her head.
"I have been trying to disect this defensive barrier for a week!" Princess Marina said with frustration.
"How about leaving that for now?" Lorraine asked with a polite smile.
"The spar training between you, the weapons instructor, Rassera Dawnspire, Esmira Montain and Maria Price is at dawn tomorrow." Lorraine said, putting emphasis on the word tomorrow.
"You begged the King for three weeks before he let you join them!" Lorraine said, stepping closer to Princess Marina.
"But-" Princess Marina thought as she looked back at the material she was supposed to be analyzing.
"No buts." Lorraine said, before signalling the guards to come in with every weapon she thought would suit Princess Marina with a clap.
"I took the liberty of picking these out myself." Lorraine said emphasizing the word myself and giving Princess Marina the side eye.
"Because I knew how busy you were going to be with this." Lorraine said, referring to the material under Princess Marina's makeshift microscope.
Turning around to acknowledge the guards, Lorraine politely told the guards where to keep the weapons and watched as they disappeared after completing her task.
Picking up two gloves with an ore from a bestia with water attributes, Lorraine handed them over to Princess Marina with gleaming eyes.
"Is this how you see me?" Princess Marina asked Lorraine dryly.
"What?" Lorraine asked, with an innocent expression.
"You were a wolf before this, isn't punching and kicking your thing." Lorraine said as she threw a couple of punches and side stepped dramatically.
"Hah hah." Princess Marina said as she dropped the gloves.
"That only worked because wolves fight in close combat." Princess Marina said to Lorraine as her gaze shifted to the pile of weapons.
"In Alvonia, I could easily be hit with an attack before I even get close." Princess Marina said as she picked up a bow with an ore from a beast with attributes of the earth.
"I don't think you have a patience for a bow." Lorraine said as she watched Princess Marina aim.
"You got these for me!" Princess Marina said in exasperation.
"I know, but now that I see you with it, I realize that it doesn't suit you at all." Lorraine said and Princess Marina sighed before dropping it.
"What about this?" Princess Marina said as she brought out a sword with an ore suitable for those blessed by the wind.
"Hmmm." Lorraine hummed, as she watched Princess Marina swing her sword around and slice the air.
"Too barbaric." Lorraine said and Princess Marina looked at her in exasperation once more.
"Did I ever tell you that you're exactly like your mom?" Princess Marina asked and Lorraine brightened up.
"Really?" Lorraine said with joy and Princess Marina looked at her softly before switching her gaze to the weapons on the floor once more.
"What about this?" Princess Marina asked, as she picked up a quarterstaff with two ores protected by pieces of wood in a spherical pattern at the top and bottom of the quarterstaff.
