Chapter 28 - Chapter 28

Izuku was tightening his gloves, staring at the dressing-room mirror.

The I-Expo attack could happen any moment now.

And on top of that… he still had to answer their confessions.

At this point, he felt confident enough to take on the villain.

What was his name again? Wolfram? Whatever. He's basically Walmart Magneto. I can handle him just fine.

Izuku adjusted his tie and spoke toward the reflection inside One For All.

"Now… how do I look, Nana-san?"

Nana floated beside him, arms crossed, a soft smile touching her lips.

"…You look good, I guess. You've changed these past few days," she said quietly.

"Maybe because I finally got myself a girlfriend," Izuku said with a shy grin.

Nana's expression fell.

"Are you mad at me, Nana-san?"

"No… you said you only need me." She lowered her gaze. "But I know what that means."

Izuku stepped closer.

"You're my precious teacher, Nana-san. If you were alive right now… I would've chosen you. Only you. I wouldn't have cared what anyone thought. You remember that wet dream I had…? That's how I really feel about you. You've been my ideal type since day one."

Nana's breath hitched.

"I'm really happy, Izuku-kun… that you feel that way." She forced a smile. "But you should live your own life. Don't get hung up on a woman like me."

"Nana-san… I—I…"

Suddenly, a knock on the door.

Izuku jolted. "Ah—coming!"

He opened the door.

"Mellisia-san?"

"No need to worry, Izuku-kun. I just came to meet you," she said, hands clasped behind her back.

She twirled once.

"How do I look, Izuku-kun?"

"…You look wonderful, Mellisia-san."

Her face instantly turned crimson.

"T-thank you…"

Then she inhaled deeply.

"I came to tell you something. No matter what your reply is… I can't give up on you. You may think I'm selfish or outrageous—we've only known each other a week—but…"

She handed him a neatly wrapped box.

"Izuku-kun, this isn't a token of appreciation or a bribe. I just… want to leave a mark on your life somehow."

Izuku opened it—and froze.

"…Gauntlets?"

Mellisia nodded proudly.

"I saw your arms. They're always ragged and damaged. These gauntlets are built with advanced nano-technology. They can handle up to one hundred Uncle Might–level punches. This is my love, Izuku-kun. Please accept it. I don't want you to forget me."

The moment he touched them, the gauntlets unfolded and wrapped around his arms automatically.

"…Mellisia-san… I'll answer you before I leave the Expo."

She turned to go—

—but suddenly spun back and kissed him gently on the lips before running away.

"No matter what your answer is… I can't forget you, Izuku-kun," she said breathlessly, then vanished around the corner.

Nana whistled. "Well… that's one hell of a declaration."

Izuku sighed. "Yeah…"

He steadied his heartbeat, secured his gauntlets, and left the room.

Time to prepare for the villain attack.

When Izuku went outside to go to the expo..Toru Appears

"Izuku-kun!" She called out

He turned. "Toru?"

She shifted nervously—even without seeing her face, he felt her trembling.

"I-I have something to tell you… Izuku-kun. I've been stalking you since the entrance exam. After you saved me."

I knew… sort of. I chose to ignore it, Izuku thought.

"Do you… hate me?" Toru whispered.

"Why would I hate you, Toru? That's your way of showing love. If anything, I'm at fault for acting oblivious. I always knew someone was following me."

"You knew…?" she squeaked.

"Kinda." He smiled gently. "I'll answer your feelings soon, Toru. Just wait a little."

"No matter what your answer is… I can't forget you either. I love you, Izuku-kun. Ever since our first kiss—even before we were dating—I just couldn't hold it back. I love you… so much."

She stepped back.

"I'll be waiting… Izuku-kun."

And she left.

Nana folded her arms. "You've got your hands full, huh?"

"…Yeah."

"What do you plan to tell them?"

"You'll see tonight, Nana-san. I'll definitely answer them."

Class 1-A assembled for the Expo night event.

Then—

Izuku's Danger Sense exploded in his head.

About damn time.

The screens flickered. The hall lights died.

And the floating arena outside revealed All Might and the pro heroes—taken hostage.

Crap… just like the anime. If something changes here… I'm in trouble.

Izuku quickly signaled All Might using Jirō's earphone jack—explaining his rescue plan.

"Mellisia-san, what floor is the emergency control system?" Izuku asked.

"Eh? It's… it's on Floor 90! The highest floor!"

Uraraka said nervously, "All Might said we should ask for help, right?"

"That's exactly what we're doing. If we reach the emergency system, we help All Might and the heroes."

"LISTEN UP! GUYS HERE'S THE PLAN"

Everyone froze.

"Kacchan, Kirishima, Kaminari, Jiro, Sero, Momo—you take the left stairs. Rendezvous at Floor 80!"

"Shoto, Fuyumi-san, Uraraka, Tsuyu, Ashido, Tokoyami—you take the right stairs. Meet us at Floor 80!"

"Me, Iida, Shoji, Ojiro, Mellisia-san, and Toru—we go straight up!"

The class split instantly.

Kirishima and Tokoyami were still fighting downstairs—but the others made it.

Izuku tested his new gauntlets—using 80% with zero recoil.

Holy crap… I feel like I'm flying. These are insane. Better than Hatsume's guantlets…Maybe because america have way more advanced technology than japan.

Using Uraraka's Zero Gravity and Float, Izuku carried Mellisia all the way to the 90th floor.

They stepped in—and froze.

David Shield was cooperating with the villains.

Mellisia's heart shattered.

Before David could explain—

Wolfram punched him in the gut, knocking him out.

Mellisia screamed—and the villain raised a metal spike toward her neck—

Izuku moved.

A sonic boom cracked the air as he slammed into the floor, pivoted, and drove his gauntlet upward.

His fist struck the spike at just the right angle, snapping its trajectory and sending it hissing past Mellisia's shoulder instead of through it.

A thin line of blood appeared on her arm.

Izuku exhaled sharply. I was one-tenth of a second too slow.

He raised his gauntlets, steam coiling around him.

"Mellisia-san… go. Activate the emergency system. I'll handle him."

Wolfram sneered and pulled every trace of metal from the walls—shards rising like soldiers responding to a general.

Who do you think you are, brat? Without All Might here—you're nothing!"

Izuku did not answer.

He accelerated.

In an instant he was on Wolfram—switching from a right jab to a spinning kick to a rising elbow.

Each blow cracked the air.

Each step dented the metal floor.

Wolfram reacted with terrifying control, sliding back as if gliding on rails he created beneath his feet.

Sheets of metal folded into shields, absorbing Izuku's blows with heavy, metallic shrieks.

He's redirecting my force… dammit, he's experienced.

Izuku feinted left, then dropped low—palms hitting the ground.

Air Force: Full Power!

A compressed shockwave fired straight under Wolfram's guard.

The blast hurled him into the wall, metal buckling around his body—

—but Wolfram simply reabsorbed the wreckage, forming armor that wrapped around him like a grotesque metal exoskeleton.

"You hit hard… but you're still just a kid."

A deafening explosion cut through the room.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, DEKU?!"

Bakugo rocketed forward, palms detonating as he slammed into Wolfram from the side.

The force tore the metal armor partially off and launched Wolfram upward.

Shoto slid in behind them, dragging fire across the ground like a blazing comet.

"This isn't like you, Izuku. You're struggling against someone this weak… when you handle me. Focus"

He flicked his hand—

A wave of flame surged upward, cutting off Wolfram's escape path and forcing him into a tightening triangle.

Izuku dashed up the burning wall Shoto created, using it like a ramp.

Bakugo mirrored him on the opposite side, explosions bursting with each step.

The three moved in perfect sync.

Bakugo dove from the right—

Izuku from the left—

Shoto's flames constricted from below—

Wolfram had nowhere to run.

Izuku's fist connected first—

the shockwave folded Wolfram's armor inward.

Bakugo's explosion detonated the compressed metal a heartbeat later—

and Shoto's flame sealed him in a molten prison.

For a moment… it looked over.

Then the floor trembled.

Wolfram roared as the enhancement device activated—

—and the entire building came alive.

Tendrils of metal burst from the walls, spiraling like serpents.

Beams twisted, warping into claws.

The ceiling unfolded into rings of blades spinning around Wolfram like a mechanical storm.

The ground under the trio's feet cracked as metal surged upward.

"SHIT—MOVE!" Bakugo yelled.

Izuku shot forward, trying to force a direct opening, but the metal swarmed him—

a living mass reacting to Wolfram's heartbeat.

Shoto raised walls of ice—

only for metal drills to carve through them instantly.

"Everyone down!!" Izuku shouted.

The tower buckled from the inside—

and the entire floor collapsed.

Falling, Protecting, Surviving

As they plummeted—

"SHOTO! PROTECT THE OTHERS!" Izuku screamed mid-fall.

"ON IT!" Shoto created a massive ice barrier, saving Class 1-A and citizens.

Shoto slammed his hands together—

A massive glacier exploded outward, catching Class 1-A and slowing civilians across multiple floors.

Izuku and Bakugo, however, kept falling.

"Deku!!!"

"I know!"

Izuku kicked off a falling metal beam—

Bakugo detonated himself upward—

and together, they shot back into the sky like twin rockets aimed at the villain.

Wolfram hovered at the center of a swirling vortex of metal—

blades, beams, spikes, steel dust—

a storm dense enough to pulverize concrete.

Izuku narrowed his eyes. There's a weakness… that tiny opening—

This bastard doesn't need all three of us," Izuku growled.

"Kacchan and I are enough."

"Tch—obviously!"

They charged—

Izuku at full throttle, Bakugo keeping pace.

Bakugo saw it too.the opening.

"Tch. Follow my lead, nerd! "

They launched themselves at the same time.

IZZ-ZZZT!

Metal sliced the air around them as they spiraled through the storm.

Izuku deflected incoming beams with air pressure bursts.

Bakugo carved a path with chain-explosions, each one widening the gap by a fraction.

One wrong step.and we'd die.but that didn't stop us.

We broke through.

Izuku twisted his body midair, gauntlet glowing—

Bakugo spun beside him, sweat igniting—

Both fists drew back.

Wolfram's eyes widened.

"WHAT—?!"

Izuku struck first—

a straight punch that cracked the metal storm.

Bakugo's explosion followed—

detonating the broken gap into a clear tunnel.

Then, a familiar voice thundered—

"FEAR NOT, STUDENTS—BECAUSE I AM HERE!"

All Might seized the opening they carved—And with impossible speed—

UNITED STATES OF SMASH!!!

The world shook.

Wolfram cratered into the ground, metal storm collapsing with him.

Izuku and Bakugo landed beside the wreckage, panting.

Bakugo smirked looking at him All might.

Izuku stared.

I still have a long way to go… he didn't waste even a second..not a single wasted movement.

"You've gotten stronger, Deku."Bakugo said..

"You too, Kacchan. I didn't think you'd keep up with me."

"Who the hell do you think I am?! I'm the Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight—not some discount Overdrive!"

Izuku laughed.

"Looks like you've got those girls waiting for you," Bakugou muttered, chin jerking toward the edge of the damaged rooftop.

Izuku followed his gaze.

There they were—

Mellisia and Toru.

Both standing on the cracked ledge of the ruined building, the night wind pulling at their clothes, city lights flickering below them like scattered stars.

Waiting for him.

Expecting an answer.

Holding their breath.

Izuku exhaled slowly.

"Yeah… I'm going, Kacchan," he said, voice steadier than he felt.

His boots crunched over broken concrete as he took the first step forward.

His heart—after everything that happened tonight—began to pound again, not from battle… but from the weight of the moment.

The moment of truth had finally arrived.
